I'm here because of Eddie Murphy on JKL. Everyone here is so talented and so many great singers. Goldie Hawn singing? Tony Danza tapdancing? I never knew. This was essentially a eulogy for him while he was still alive since he passed shortly afterward. What a great performer Sammy was. And the lack of pretentiousness. The guest list was alphabetical- how unique. And at the end when he had a personal thank you for everyone that made them laugh. So genuine

This is a truly wonderful show, packed with some of the world's late, most beautiful people & finest talents, albeit gone too soon. A beautiful show & great memories to cherish & enjoy indeed. To hear & see Sammy Davis's childhood & life stories, my goodness, WOW!!! He was such an adorable child & when he tap danced here, i was simply mesmerised!! Just amazing! Here's the thing, we see so many Shirley Temple videos doing tap dancing/hard shoe dancing, yet here we have our own Sammy Davis Jr as a child prodigy, dancing like the true professional & with such exceptional talent & charisma, yet, we never really heard or saw as much of him as we'd have liked on film. I really think he's been quite underrated, maybe not by everyone as many did love & appreciate him, but still not appreciated enough, both within the US & globally. He was such a talented man & it's as though he was born to be on the stage, standing both front & centre, which he sure did! It's great that he was well recognised & so deservedly rewarded for his 60th Anniversary Celebrations, just prior to his sad passing. I loved him & boy do i miss him, as i miss all those who've died here. :-( May Sammy Davis Jr & all late stars here, rest in eternal peace & we thank God for the gift of their lives & the raw talent & joy, that they all brought their loved ones & all of us too. Thank you Reelblack, for sharing this with your viewers. We do appreciate all the effort, that you put into all of your awesome videos.

I’m so happy I was born in the mid 50’s into a family of ten children. My eldest sisters were born in the 40’s my mom was born in 1918. So we were exposed to every type of popular entertainment from the 20’s all the way to the 90’s! I feel so blessed to have been born when I was. I feel that the field of entertainment has lost so much! The caliber of artistry has gone downhill IMHO! Thank goodness for all of the variety shows that showcased all of these artist and more! The greatest performer of all time: Sammy did it all. He could sing, dance, act, tap dancer per excellence. One time two people were fighting for his tap dancing shoes. Magic, one of the great basket ball player, managed to get his autograph in 1990 during his 60 Anniversary Celebration. His contribution to the arts in the USA will be very hard to challenge. He was a gifted child with incredible talent.

Dang, I still miss him, even after all these since he has been gone. He and his family were close to my family. PS. Memories flooding back to me...A party was held for Sammy at the Playboy Club London circa 1973. Friends were invited with their children (the club was opened as a special occasion). Sammy sang along to "Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree" that was being played in the background whilst he danced with me at the same time .I was 9/10 years old.

Thank you so much for uploading this fantastic show for all to view! I really enjoyed watching it! I like watching the older award shows and honoree shows because they are so classy and the performances are elegant (no raunchy stuff or half naked women)! And the music was better back then as well. I enjoyed Eddie hosting the show. He was crazy and funny and his intro of Stevie was awesome! My girl Whitney was fabulous as always and of course, MJ is just a great entertainer! All the performances on here were great to watch! I must say I truly enjoyed Sammy and Gregory tap dancing together. Gregory solo and him wit Sammy was great! You can see the respect he has for Sammy! Again great show and appreciate the share! 😊🙏🆒👏
