Wow! You ain't kidding! Gotta tell ya, saw Tony Bennett live about 4 years ago at small theater in Aurora Illinois. I think he was 89...88.. simply amazing! And the acoustics were so good that he purposely sang one song without the mic! Blew every one away! And what I thought was really amazing was his ability to move around on stage, in the dark, when he announced each member of the band! Spotlight on one member while he played his solo, then darkness, then the spotlight would be on the next guy and there was Tony introducing him! And they were not in order! He'd appear over here then over there! Course there could've been someone in black helping him, but I was pretty close and I didn't see anyone!

@@michaelnorris7193 I saw him at least three times live at Radio City Music Hall in NYC, and countless times over the years starting in the '60s to the '90s on live TV (not taped) and that was his thing, introducing his musicians and giving credit to the songwriters. Sinatra credited the songwriters, arrangers he had, and often times his musicians too. I met Tony once backstage when I covered a convention event in Vegas for a business publication years ago, him and Ralph Sharon, his pianist. Both were gentlemen, polite, and nice. It was never all about "Tony." R.I.P.

See how Sammy prompts the audience to applaud for the pianist after their solo? Classy move!

Yeah ... these are the guys that make a singer sound great instead of just good. The often unheralded musicians that went on the road and played on the records were as talented as those in the spotlight.

Sammy and Tony two of the very best. Entertainers of class, elegance and great fun. Those were the days. When the world knew how to laugh, how to have a sense of humour, when comedy was King, there was glamour and Men were men, looked great in tuxes, and didn't go around trying to claim they have periods.. What has happened to our warm, wonderful, sane world of not so very long ago.

If you're wondering....that last note was :14. :) What a fantastic performance! And the piano player is Ralph Sharon who was with Tony for over forty years. A consummate musician in his own right.

Mr. Davis hosted several hours of the "Telethon" in 1983 due to Mr. Lewis recuperating from open-heart surgery. He was terrific, gracious, and ALWAYS delivered.. Thanks for sharing.

My uncle Haroled played up right bass for Tony for years, but the bass player here is not my uncle. Also Sammy and Harold knew each other as well. Because 1 night my mom came home and saw someone looking out the window I think but it was dark and didn't recognize him at first, finally she said to him where is Hal, he looked at her and said he is in the shower. It was then she knew it was Sammy. Wish I'd met Sammy. But I did talk to Tony on the phone for a few seconds, because Harold and his family were visiting us, and Tony wanted to talk with Harold, I only knew it was Tony when Hal said his name. I was super surprised that I was speaking to Tony. Don't remember the year. But both events were in Montreal.
