Its not really an honor to Eddie Van Halen when Sammy plays some of his solo stuff and Joe as well. If this was to honor Eddie and Van Halen then only VH songs would be played.

Sammy and Co make just as much money if they just played their Circle set. There are guitar players in VH tribute bands that would make you think EVH was reincarnated. But what's the point when you get to see arguably, one of the best guitar players in history - not just a copy-cat player - help celebrate the life, and the band he created, of the greatest there ever was?
Long live Sammy ... "The Red Rocker" and the band, whether it be playing EVH songs or Sammy's and the band's many hits ... It is ALL fantastic! We better enjoy it and appreciate it while we HAVE IT! I LOVE THIS BAND!
62 and been a Sammy fan since Montrose, Zep was my favorite band growing up, loved Surfing with the Alien, and Eddie was and always will be my favorite guitarist. Grateful to be alive and hearing this 🙏🤘😎
@@muurimc Van Hagar never had a number album or single in Europe. No chance Sammy will bring the tour that far. Only going to countries where Sammy had a number 1....Which means exactly 1 country on the tour schedule...

What a great way to celebrate the songs of Van Halen and Hagars career, superb performances of so many great songs. A shame it’s doubtful we’re going to see this touring in the UK.
Love when music elitists have to make condescending comments like this. It's not about replicating technical ability, it's about replicating someone's particular style. Everyone plays a little differently, nothing is "easy" about that. We all know Joe can go above and beyond what Eddie did on a technical level.

So early in the tour and still clearly killing it. Saw Satch and Chickenfoot at the Chicago Theatre and he melted the place. Chicagoland awaits August 3rd baby !
They were beyond expectations and I think they did a great job honoring Eddie. Satriani played everything note for note, didn't put anything extra on it
Me too! August 23rd in Houston. I saw VH with DLR in 1985. Saw the very first Van Hagar show in Shreveport. Saw Van Hagar two other times. Saw Joe in a smaller venue in Houston . I've been a guitar instrumental afficionado since the 80s so this is like a full circle moment for me. And y'all MUST check out Mammoth WVH to see the Eddie legacy living in the uber-talented Wolfie. He blew me away opening for Alter Bridge in Houston in 2023. "Take A Bow" in particular is an AWESOME song and Wolfie shows he learned some guitar tricks from his Daddy. 🤘🎸

It's okay, keys shoulda had organ during the chorus and the piano seemed out of timing in the beginning. But, I get it, not VH for real but still sounds nice and I love Satriani, he's the best ever.

Not the same without Edward! Love the vocals of Michael Anthony, but just is not Van Halen. I will watch "Live Without a Net” over and over before I ever want to see Joe Satriani try and paly like Ed! Just sounds wrong. RIP Edward!
In all fairness, Eddie didn’t play his own stuff the same way all the time. Joe didn’t have to do this. He got it together much faster than I would have. Give him some props. RIP EVH. I’m still chasing you!
@@johnshultz7469 Lame start (as in it was a lame start...Sammys video with a tribute to himself which then stopped before everyone silently walked on stage), to a Sammy specific show (i.e. it was a tribute to his own VH era with very little Dave era (2 songs and a cover song?), and no Gary era)... Certainly not best of all worlds...
