Man this song hits me hard i was married for 28 years and came home from a hard days work one day and my wife said she wanted a divorce i was shocked heck we never once had any problems both my boys had graduated and i was looking forward to spending my retired life with her but she said she just wanted to be free and we had a yard sell and sold everything but our pictures she got some i got some to this day i am devastated i am now 70 years old fighting cancer and memories
It always seems to fall on that Seven year increment the seven year itch, for some reason. Same thing happened with my parents and friends of mine for starters.
I feel for your sir. I truly do. I have been married for a little over 37 years now and I'm also 70 years old. It's almost like we're not even married. We get along, but it's not like it should be. Health issues entered into the picture in 2015 when I retired for both of us. I have a lot to be thankful for. I still have my wife. I don't know what I would do if I were divorced and I don't want one. It's lonely that is all that I can tell you. I do my best to stay positive and keep active. I'm not giving you advice. I'm just sharing.
And Sammy certainly does because he has only cut songs that he's lived. That's one reason every song he sings resonates so well with every word of each song and his voice resonates so greatly. He is 100% real and not a hint of fake or imitation in him whatsoever.
One of my all time favorites. I worked in a small town diner as a cook when we used to just put on this CD and along with George Strait and Jones, Keith Whitley, John Michael Montgomery, etc...it was one of those things that just came natural. Then I moved away, and now I listen to them all alone. Miss those days.
Man this is very sad and tragic but true. I was married for 14 years and had 4 kids who used every weekend. I never thought or could have imagined things would happen and had to sell what was left of us but the hardest part is the memories you retain and drinking and smoking yourself to death to get over the pain is unbearable and the depression that comes with it very sad make sure to keep your marriage strong.
I've blamed another female for three years. Why? He is the one that let her in. Keep your head up, be the 👑King you were born to be, alone or as a couple. A marriage takes two- 🩷🌎💙
Matches, is another one that is really written well, but I agree that this one is excellent, but I believe Sammy could sing the menu from the Waffle House and bring a tear to my eye
Sammy was very underrated singer never got the attention the other artists did he was just as good if not better one of my all time favorites hope you are doing well Sammy
Sammy (63) and his longtime girlfriend Mendy Gregory (39), had their first child together, a baby girl, in September of 2019. ... Seems to me like he's holding up just fine ! 😉 😊
Met this man a lot of years ago at the county fair I worked at as a deputy sheriff for security for him. He practically had pneumonia - the county doctor saw him and gave him antibiotics. He told the crowd we drove all this way and we have to do a show. He did, and standing less than twenty feet from him I could see he was sicker than a dog. He already had hits and he could've have cancelled. He didn't. Stand up man that cares about his fans!
When I first heard his songs I thought it was George Jones but yet not quite. When I found out who it was I said, sounds great to me !!! , and I started listening to his songs ever since.
January 16th 2021 listening to one of the best artists of the 90's. Im 46, and I grew up on 70's and 80's country, nothing in my opinion will top either era, but this guy here was and still is very good
I had the same yard sale after my ex-wife left me 7 months pregnant with another mans child. It left me flat broke at the age of 30 years old and it took me 10 years to recover from the loss.
at thirty its tough, you still have time to recover. try it at fifty two, you spin around in a circle! try to remember what fred sanford told lamont, Sooner or later son you're gonna have to talk to them.
This is one of my all time favorite country songs. I was fortunate enough to see Sammy live a few years ago in Atmore AL. He was one of my biggest influences in country music during the 90s. A timeless singer and voice.

This song is special to me. I can relate to it. My ex-wife did this to me. I know this song is an oldie but a goodie. My life fits this song almost perfectly. Divorce is painful and it hurts. I never remarried after my first and only divorce. I'm willing to try it again.
The first time "Cadillac Style" aired on CMT I was hooked. Loved me some Sammy Kershaw. When he came to Bakersfield I was so excited and jumped on buying a ticket to go. He had only been out for a couple of years or so at that time. I could hardly function until the day finally came. I got there, bought an 8x10 to hopefully have signed and considering it was small club so I didn't think it would be a problem. It broke my heart when he came out, wasn't very pleasant with the fans and immediately left after the show. No signing, nothing. He. Just. Left. Within 2 yrs I had a "concert wall" with over 120 photos from the concerts I had been to, all autographed but one. Yep. I considered not putting it up because it stood out and made me sad every time I looked at it. I loved music and concerts were my favorite thing to do from the mid 90s- 2002, before I moved away, but I'll never get over how crushed I was over that.

This stuff was sooo great... Country music died in mid to late 90s.... Cant even bring myself to give today's a chance.. Guess that doesn't make me a true country fan???
He's one of the greatest singers ever I will always listen to his music he's so sweet and good looking I wish I could meet Sammy Kershaw I need a friend
THIS SONG IS SO SAD IT BRINGS BACK MEMORIES FOR ME..THAT LOOK HE GAVE HER WHEN SHE GAVE HIM HER RING AND WALKED AWAY ..THAT REMINDS ME OF ME!! YES THIS HAPPENED TO ME IN IN 1996 BUT I DID GET CUSTODY OF OUR DAUGHTER!!! SHE IS MY ❤️ 💙 .I MOVED ON LIFE IS GOOD NOW I HAVE A SMART BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER WHO IS INTELLIGENT MAKES GREAT MONEY!! SO IN THE END I CAME OUT GOOD!! BUT THE SONGS STILL BRINGS TEARS NOT BECAUSE SO MUCH OF ME BUT BECAUSE OF MY DAUGHTER HAD TO BE RAISED WITHOUT A MOTHER. STILL SHE TURNED OUT GREAT!!!!
This is one of my favorite songs by Sammy Kershaw, and the first song I ever learned to play on my guitar. I have all of his cd's. One of country's best artists! Bart Conlon, Songwriter, Waynesboro, Va.
you got that right why they go back the good old days of country music and kick the new country out or kill it they want save country music will then save it ok before it the new country goes to far ok Corinne Mattinen
@@Aaron-yy3bt He wasn't as good as he was when we saw him by himself two other times years ago.He also didn't sing two of My Favorite songs of His.Will just listen to my CD of His Greatest Hits or listen to the Songs I want to hear on my smartphone.
My grandpa just died today just like that. This was one of his fave songs to sing when we went camping. I'm still in shock, not sure what to think. It was so fast, just like that. It's crazy.
Man, this song goes back to 91' with my brothers. I miss them. They only got to be 39 and 36. Today, I am 50, and I am the youngest of them. I miss you guys.
People of my generation are too dumbed down. I was born in 1991 and still remember these sounds, when I was a kid. The world we live in today has never been so weird/messed up/stupid to me before. I think others are starting to notice this, too.
Arthur Dodds They're wacko's. All this I was meant to be a man or meant to be a woman. If you have a penis then you're a man.Plain and simple. And the problem they have is with the largest sexual organ the body has.The brain.Wacko's

there were four songs that came out between 91 and 92 that i liked because they talked about divorce and its effects. sammy kershaw had this one, while tracy lawrence mark chesnutt and doug supernaw had "sticks and stones", "almost goodbye" and "i don't call him Daddy" respectively. i like all four of these songs because I'm a child of divorce myself, and my mom and dad were in the process of getting a divorce around that era.,so i had to deal with all the stuff mentioned in these four songs. the name calling, the loss of a great deal of my toys, etc. etc. it's a testament to a song's staying power when it's being played over two decades after it was originally released. It's also good to hear sammy has a new song out now, in which he's joined by Joe Diffie and Aaron Tippin. welcome back sammy!
