Everytime I see Sammy I feel like a kid again. I was born in the 60's. I watched him on "Laugh In". I watched the MDA telethon and couldn't wait till he came on to sing. I was so fortunate to see him live on the telethon once. Thanks, Joe.
This is five years before he died, and he's showing everyone he still has the pipes of a freakishly gifted 25-year old. His voice only went right before the end?
Funny his pal Dean Martin sung this same song. They both sung it great but they both put there own twist on it. That is what great about music ... Same song can have different feeling depending on who singing it.
That was what was so nice back then ... They was so comfortable sharing their song who who ever wanted to sing them without competition with each other. Dean was more relax of Crouse, Sammy put a touch of jazz into his version of it.
There is no verse to this song, cos I don't wanna wait a minute too long to tell ya...............That I'd likeetc etc ..... Wow the verse that isn't a verse is a great verse that sets the scene for the chorus.............................great stuff.
