It is FM23 Rebuild time and this weekend we head to Italy to rebuild Sampdoria.
They picked up their one and only Scudetto in 1990/91 to go along with 4 Italian Cups - can we add any more silverware to the trophy cabinet within a 5 season period?

I have always made content throughout my professional career, however, it has always been for someone else. In May 2020 I decided that it was time to create something for myself. Football Manager has always been a game that I have loved so wanted to take this opportunity to share some of the tips and tricks that I've learnt!

I have Lucca in my save in Poland and in season 2024/2025 he scored 46 goals in 32 apps in league and 24 goals in 20 apps in CL. He is still damn good :D

I managed Sampdoria 2 years in a row (FM20 and FM22 cuz i started playing when FM21 with free FM20 on Epic Games) and for me, Sampdoria always had good base for rebuild - u had to endure first year ending in mid table, then second season was easy Champions League qualification. I took Sampdoria cuz they had at one point 3 polish players so i thought i can try bringing more (i only played fifa at that point and i never played FM), and at start i was really strugling, and i almost was fired, but then Sampdoria got taken over my some Argentinian investor, and after 2 new transfers in January the board did by them self, it was cake walk till end of season finishing in european qualification spot (didnt had same luck in fm22 and first year was 9 place). Then start of 2 season Moriba was on transfer list and i got him for 20 milion (best singning of the save) and cleaned up my team, and season season was a league winning one. When i stared FM22 save i realise how lucky i was with my first save - amazing players for low money, good regens with amazing potential, i had to play 5 seasons to even try winning a league because other teams where so much better than me

Forza Sampdoria. Nice to see this one. When it comes to Italian clubs I would say Sampdoria are my favorite team so was looking forward to this one, goes back to Platt, Lombardi for me. Haven't been a contender for so long. They were my BETA save on FM22 in 3 seasons I failed to get them above 6th as well. Great work on the European success.

Thanks Matt, it's crazy that I was finding Europe easier than Italy. I've always said this about Italy, there is a large selection of teams that could win the title. Unlike any other league in Europe

Hey Steve, I've been watching every fm video you make, I like your rebuilds , I'm a fm player too since 1998 with championship manager and then lma manager and football manager, I'm from Greece 🇬🇷 so would like to see a rebuild of my greek team panathinaikos, winning the Greek superleague is not such a big achievement as the competition is not that big but panathinaikos used to be a good team and respected in Europe with impressive performances, so would like to see a good rebuild with aiming to see something good in European competitions. On fm22 I built one of the best teams I ever built on fm history, dominating greek league and champions league with 10 cl trophies and ballon dor striker for 10 seasons in a row. Would really like to see you building My favourite team! I enjoy your videos !

Love the rebuild Steve. Did a great job with Samp who are struggling this season. I watch a lot of Serie A and they look set for Serie B. It’s an ageing squad and you worked wonders with it. Ps what skin are you using it looks wonderful.

Forza Sampdoria. Enjoying these rebuilds, how about Hibernian or Dundee Utd as potential rebuilds. Hibs are historically rivals with Hearts and hearts and finished behind them last year despite Hearts having just been promoted. Dundee Utd were part of the "new firm" alongside Aberdeen but have been massively disappointing in the last decade having spent some time in the Scottish second tier. Another option could be fc st pauli from Germany a team that has not been in the Bundesliga since 2010-2011

@@HoodGamingUK I’ve just got him in my save in my Jan transfer window first season promoted to the prem and he’s only costing me 2.5mil if all his extras go through and he’s happy to be a fringe player so seems a steal to me if he doesn’t come off. But I have him Holjund, rhian Brewster and iliman ndiaye so I’m pretty happy I think going forward.
