Sampling with a Sonicware SMPLTrek

Well in my defense - those knobs are tightly placed lol and you know my hands aren’t tiny. But what are you trying to figure out ? How to choose the start and end of a sample? (As in an instrument) or are you cutting up a loop?

Clipping on the sampler itself? I absolutely did that’s why I was adjusting the volume and recorded a few different takes then trimmed the one out that seemed to work best. I hope it wasn’t in the actual video I usually go through them but it could have been my RU-vid audio filter in wave lab

@@Cap10NRGMusic Yeah on the sampler itself, no big deal but I saw it clipping a bit and the waveforms also looked clipped. Maybe better to give yourself a little more room in the sample recording and bring the level up after. I couldn't really hear it in the video itself though. Would love to see more videos of you using the smpltrek, I'm really enjoying mine!

Did you turn on monitor? Using the value knob look on your screen in the lower right hand corner above where it says tuner if it says monitor and it’s kind of dim. That means monitoring is turned off click the data knob and you will see a level it’ll say V LVL and the number. Once you have that turned on, you should be able to see the meters bounce up and down to your sound coming in and you should be good to go.

Don’t forget to sub. ;)

Oh, monitor is on the input select screen by the way sorry I didn’t mention that I meant to. So press shift pencil select your input and then do the rest.

Thanks for the reply. I checked and monitor was on , I tried turning it up higher, but still no levels. I’m starting to think maybe the unit is defective.

@@brainguy5132 have you checked the cables? I mean I know it sounds ridiculous but I figured I’d ask. Let me put something together for you to show you the process that I use like exclude like up close… If that doesn’t work then I’m not sure what’s wrong it might be the unit. But so far I mean I can’t think of any units that have been bad and I know they’re mass-produced sort of, so I wonder what went wrong I’m really curious. I’m totally not defending manufacturing of the unit. I have no idea what happens on the other side of the pond as they say. I’m just saying, let’s try it something else and see if that works

I’m just curious what you didn’t like… I got very high ratings on the video and a lot of people who thought it was very good. I don’t do a lot of fluff in my videos so if you could be more constructive and let me know what you didn’t like I could maybe work with that.
