to the young Hasidic kids who said and I quote " YOU STILL HIKE AT YOUR ADVANCED AGE". yup, that happend. In thier defence I was SOAKED from a previous rainstorm and everyone was dry.

Weekends require a reservation. Mid week was pretty empty :) The blueberry bushes will turn BRIGHT RED very soon. Thank you for the compliment:)

Thank you for sharing, it makes me a bit homesick. On my next visit, seeing the Ice Caves, Ashokan High Point and the Gunks are numbers 3, 4 and 5 on the list, right after family.

@@jaycreature3893 Florida, but I lived, biked, hiked, camped, kayaked and spelunked in Rockland and Orange Counties until my mid 30's. We also had some property and a cabin up the southwestern slope of Mombaccus that had been in the family for half a century, so I stomped around a bit in Ulster, Sullivan & Greene Counties as well.
