I spent a lot of time researching and troubleshooting my issue with my TV. I'm very impressed with ShopJimmy, making all these diagnostic and repair videos and selling so many parts. I was really trying to avoid buying a smart tv, so I was happy to risk $90 to replace the LED strips in my tv, including the suction cups. It took some time and patience, but I did it. Unfortunately something went wrong. The TV works again. It was the LED strips that it needed. But the right side of my TV is a little darker the the left, the color and motion is distorted, and the glass has two black spots in the corners that won't go away. Something went wrong in the disassembly and assembly process, apparently. I thought I was gentle and careful. If I had to beware of anything special, not touching this or that, it wasn't in the video.
Thank you for posting this video. I followed the troubleshooting video first, then this one to do the repair. My tv is now back in working order, saved me lots of money for not having to buy a new tv. Learned a lot from this. Who knew that tv's today are really not that complex.
I was just watching some of your videos I have the 65 inch big screen Mitsubishi and I'm in a wheelchair so I'm going to have to have help but was wondering what's the best way to get behind the main screen to clean in between my nephew had gotten Windex up in between and it dried out but it made it to where all the way from the bottom to the top in the center is a bunch of damn lent dirt something if any help would be appreciated but you guys have the best videos I share them I tell my friends about you guys because you're the best thanks a bunch my friend
Thanks for the very useful video. I have a UE46 with a power issue. I can see a blown capacitor but am struggling to reach it as I can't get the back off. Looking at the back from the bottom edge, where you unplug the cable after removing the back-plane and, before removal of the rear bezel, the back of my TV is snagging on something and just refuses to lift up. Screws are all removed and top and right side is all free but not the bottom left. Having taken one off already, can you think of anything that might be stopping it? Any ideas much appreciated.
My TV model number UN46F6300AFXZA. I am about to order the LEDs from you BUT upon visual inspection..I do not see any burnt out LEDs. The TV WAS dead..as in zero lights. After replacing power supply board, I now have the blinking standby power light. I have replaced power supply board and main board already. I get flashing standby light. I have NOT EVER seen the LEDS light up at any time so I assume this is my problem. is it common to not find a problem with the LED lights upon visual inspection and still have faulty backlights?
Buonasera....
@@realmccoy813 I replaced LEDs..did not fix it. now i have new parts to sell as the TV went to the curb. I tried. only thing i didnt replace was the tcom.
@@crazydoglady5 In that case would have checked for shorts...quick way would be just connect the main and pwr board and see if it "powers on" if so connect remaining one at a time...how much for your wifi module? 🙂
@@realmccoy813 yes i connected power. the light flashes and it never veered off from that. i have to power it thru the mainboard but disconnected everything else. although there are two long strips at the bottom that i dont know what they are.....oh my..let me find the parts..i been moving stuff around..i bought brand new the main board and the power supply board. everything else i used parts. i bet the used supply board still works as i didnt visually see any blown resistors...but that doesnt mean much. let me look for it tonight and let you know tomorrow what i have. and model numbers of them...
