Normally I would have replaced it. But since I pressurized the system and everything was good I didn’t see a need to. Because the compressor was not bad and the leak was on the discharge side and not the suction side. That means that there was probably not moisture or a chance for a restriction. When I cut the tubs to take out the evaporator only clear clean nitrogen came out so I didn’t see the need to charge the customer for those extra cost in labor and for the drier.

No matter where the leak is you should've replaced the filter drier, especially when it's leaking on the FF evaporator coil like that. It might've sucked in some moisture into the system. Plus you were only vacuuming from the low side with the core in place. Idk man. @@appliancerepairdiytv3536

I’ve heard of putting water inside of a compressor. This is an electrical mechanism with oils and refrigerant. Water will damage the system. Please submit an instructional video on that.
