Samsung released their new Galaxy Book 3 Pro and Ultra Windows Laptops recently and after spending some time with the Ultra, I have some thoughts... ➡️ SUBSCRIBE: ru-vid.com ➡️ FOLLOW ME: mikedropstech
Grabbed one for their early boxing day sale. And with the Samsung Shop app that just released, they will give you an additional 10% off on your first purchase. So I got about nearly 1000$ off. I'm in the Samsung Eco System, I've been looking for a new laptop/PC that could last a good 3-5 years, so I figured this would be the right time to pick this up. I also don't play too much PC games, so this should also do me good if I get the urge to play. And great video btw!
Hey Douglas! Thanks for watching. I’m not much of a gamer so I always stay away so I don’t embarrass myself too much! On upgradability, I’d try and buy the spec you need if you can as they’re not really user friendly.
Great Video mike, looking to grab one of the 2 Galaxy book pro 3 14” or Surface pro 9. Always love the surface pro lines. But the 14 inch Samsung got my eye. What do you think is better?
Great video ! One question, is the book 2 pro 360 fit for an engineering student ? Because i really need the touchscreen on the 360 but i dont know if the dedicated gpu on the ultra is essential.
I don’t know what software you’re using but I’d check on graphic requirements for sure. And stick with the book 3. The 16:10 screen ratio is way better.
Keep it up! (more valuable than linus tech tips if I'm honest) I just got a dell XPS, and it was a no-brainer for me due to it being on sale by so much, it was realistically for my budget the best option.
Yes they have those 12th gen chip XPS’ deep discount right now! Was debating that myself. Though I am loving the Samsung, I prefer the XPS sound quality, keyboard and soft deck over the GB3U. You got a good deal from the discounts I’m seeing out there right now. Crazy.
@@mikedropstech No kidding. I did just get some kind of intel update this morning so who knows maybe in need to run it again. It’s basically a portable desktop with that battery life. If I didn’t have to have Windows for work I would just use my MBP. But as a Windows laptop this thing is still pretty amazing.
@@mikedropstech Lots of amazing things happening so fast in Tech right now. It’s exciting for an older Gen X that grew up with 1 TV, 2 channels on antenna when the wind blew just right, on a party line rotary phone line shared with 10 neighbors down the county road growing up. We had Pong. Then an Atari 2600 later. I never imagined all this stuff. Quite Star Wars for sure.
@@mikedropstech For what reasons? aren't the specs / build quality pretty much the same? Just curious as I'm looking to buy a new laptop and was leaning more towards the Yoga Pro 😅
@@mikedropstech Maybe it's also different in the US, but in the uk for a Samsung i7, RTX 4050, 1tb ssd, 16gb ram, it costs £2649. The Yoga with exactly the same specs (mini led instead of oled however) costs £1800. I just can't justify spending £850 more for the Samsung, which honestly looks the same to me.
Honestly, before this, I was more leaned towards the XPS. But, seeing this, the Book3U is better, the only important question is 'is the screen a touch screen?'
The fact that most slim gaming laptops don't come with a touch screen is a pain in the ass. Can you recommend any slim and crazy fast laptop that has a touch screen?
I got this as a pre-order it came with a free tab s8 ultra, with discount it cost me 2400 euros and as said that included the tab. It is the 4050 model but its fast enough. I did end up selling the laptop as I did not like the touchpad and the screen wobble. When using the keyboard the screen wobbles a bit which was really irritating for me so I went back to Asus G series.
Hi Mike, You have not done a tech review in months. You seem to have exited this end of the RU-vid market. Shame as I liked your videos but there are others out there who keep up with the latest developments. Unsubscribing now. Byeee.
