This was bought to replace an old Lenovo tablet which was essentially too sluggish to cope with modern websites. ru-vid.comUgkxz4qYZoyAOb_hq_UbaKI6AsZX0FnoFm-U This tablet is fast, has a very clear display with built in optional eye comfort shield, great sound with Dolby Atmos, split screen option and numerous tweaks that I've not yet explored. I've plugged a wireless receiver into the i/o socket to connect a mouse if I need it and a bluetooth keyboard works fine - unlike the Lenevo which somehow would often garble the input. Battery life seems good. In short I'm very pleased with it

I have had a tab like this since December 2013, the black version, and I haven't tried out half of the features because I wasn't sure what the heck they were for and I didn't bother to try them out to see. This video really cleared that up for me. Great tab btw :)

Just bought this tablet last week after selling my iPad3 for $400. LOVE IT! Even though I have invested a lot in the Apple/iTunes ecosystem over the years, I Can't deal with Apple's minimal changes and tight control of what the user can change, iPad Air bores me, more of the same. This tablet has the best screen I have ever seen! Even beatscretina display. I am new to S pen and want to thank you for your in depth review because you uncovered featured I would have never found on my own. THANKS

I really enjoyed this review. I am getting my one delivered tomorrow. I actually watched your video 3 times in the last 2 months as I debated with myself on what tablet to get. Some people complain that the video is too long but I like the detail you put in. In order to cater for those who like shorter, general videos, you could post two versions - one being the full version (like this) and one which is edited down to like 10-15 mins instead. Just an idea I had.

Great review! I've been going back and forth between the Note 10.1 (2014) and the New iPad Air. This definitely persuaded me to get the Note. Interesting, considering I own a Mac and an iPhone. Cute dogs!

Brings back memories when my middle school had these. They were great, and some of us figured out how to "sideload" apps typically not available through their own app suite. The S-Pen will never match any stylus I use for my phones.

This is the best review of the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014. The greatest selling point, in the end, was when you were demonstrating the camera: you got distracted petting your dogs. And that was great; the tablet remains off the way and you focus on living the moment.

Thanks for the video! I've had mine less than a month, and you taught me some new things about it. I have a Bobjgear protective case which has raised bevels on my tablet, so accidentally pressing buttons in portrait orientation has not been a problem for me. Cute Yorkie at the end!

The rotation lag in my opinion is not due to lack of CPU power or a giant screen resolution. That is an Android thing we all live with. I wished Google could just leave behind this Android to really jump to a new Android 5.0 ecosystem where apps runs directly within the Android Platform more integrated. ART seems promising. See? The less virtualized the smoother it will run! Looking forward to the Note 3!

Sony is the only one I know of, with a 10+ inch screen, that is water resistant Agbo. You can take the Sony Xperia Z2 10.1 inch in the shower with you, as long as you have the access ports closed properly. I don't recall the depth it is warranted for, but I'm sure you can find that out if water resistance is a deal maker/breaker. I will stick with Samsung for the Note stylus and software for it, but the Sony is the closest to Samsung in most aspects. I'd say it's worth checking out.

Great review! I saw also your reviews of the iPad Air and iPad mini with retina display, also. All your reviews seem to be the ones I watch the most on youtube because of all the helpful information you put in them. I wasn't sure which pad to buy but I really like the features on the samung galaxy note 10.1 2014 editon, so i'll probably get that, and it's thanks to your review and reviews on amazon and samsung website lol. Best tablet ever ! I'm using it right now and there Is just sooooooooooooooooooo much stuff in here that is sooooooooooooooooooo cool. I only had this for 3 days and there is so many amazing features that this tablet has for everyone. I use it for school everyday and it is so easy to use, the multitasker is great and i could have fast answers with the Svoice. Its amazing and the best in my opinion keep it up Samsung !!! ♡♡

Man, I just kinda Mike, you're one of the first reviewer that I've seen who's gone over almost if not all the details required for a proper review! You're awesome! Quick question cause I'm stupid :P. . . ah, which is better, Note 3 or this (10.1)? Great review! I'm a Note 2 user and love all the software features of the Galaxy Note series. The Note 3 and Note 10.1 2014 introduced some seriously great enhancements. The stylus is addictive and once you're used to it you don't want a smartphone or tablet without it. This (imho) is the best tablet out there and I'll be picking on up myself. ;)

i wan to buy this tablet but there are two reasons for considering other brands including apple 1: bloatware: touch wiz is by far not perfect or efficient and by far not the most aesthetically pleasing. it makes the samsung lag. a friend of mine installed stock android into his samsung g note 3 (i think it was) obviously all google services werent available but daaaaaaaaammmmm the phone was like lightniing.!!!! 2: apple is very basic and easy and even if this is very inconvenient sometimes, its what makes it so fast with such shity specifications. if both devices runned with ios samsung would f***k iphone or ipad buuuut they are not. in my case the reason i want to buy a tablet is to draw and do some scetchbook and design stuff. not too hardcore just general drawing (im an artist) so the ipad would be ok for me. i have twooooo maaasive drawbacks when i think of buying an ipad or any apple devices. 1: over-f***ing-priced for the specifications. allthough it makes sense because the cost of production are so high ( samsung display, intel processor and built quality + components that are bought from foreign companies and not produced) 2: there is no stylus or spen, which is my biggest plus side for samsung because at least in my mothers note 4 it does wonders, it sooo precise and usefull. hope this answers your question even if its from my point of view

Hi Mike, Must comment on this video. You have a thorough and complete approach to reviewing current technology. I was debating the merit of investing in this type of product and was truly impressed with your review. Your review revealed many features that are not commonly known by the uninitiated. Keep up the reviews! I will try to acquire this product in the near future. I doubt you need to have words of encouragement at this stage, but I would like to say, you have an excellent balance for this type of presentation. Hmmm... Have to disagree. I'm absolutly an Apple-FANboy. Always have the newest iPhone and iPad. For the fun of it 4 weeks ago I got the Galaxy Note 3 with Galaxy Gear. Haven't touched the iPhone since. The same thing with this new version of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. My iPad is now a dust collector. So yes it happend. iPhone and iPad seems so outdated compared to these fine Samsung products. And I say that as a owner of all of them and with my heart belonging to Apple. Like that logo :-) But Samsungs new product are KICKASS - Gadgetgasm :-) Samsungs product's have SO many nice features I've been missing out on. Especially now with iOS 7. It lags and looks like a joke. I'm almost religious about my iPhone and iPad. But they lost me there. Computers are still mac's though, cos Windows sucks ass.... :-)

Thank you for this comprehensive video review. I'm starting a PhD and this tablet will be INCREDIBLY useful for reviewing papers. It's a shame i cannot find it anywhere in stock! :(

Very well done on this video! You go through every feature an that's not something you see very often, but are looking for to make a choice between 2 Samsung note tablets like I am! This is what I wanna see when I'm making a deciding on any device even though it's always a Samsung device! Outstanding job on this video 2 very big thumbs up!!!!!!

I just want to say how impressed I am with your tutorial video. You have created the perfect tutorial/instructional video on the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 that could ever be made. Thank you. Samsung should reward you with piles of $100 USD's for your instructional video that is so professionally designed. We're impressed.

The Cameras on this tablet are amazing. The front camera is crisp and colorful, while the rear camera has built-in flash and amazing resolution. My only gripe- it's the heaviest tablet I have ever used, approx. 1.5lbs, heavier with case.

I have both the new ipad mini and galaxy note 10.1 (not the 2014 edition) but for a student, GN 10.1 is hands down the best table. I've had it for almost two years now and I am very pleased and the new 2014 edition has a even better design (which sorta was a down side of GN 10.1 except I really liked the front facing speakers).

There are indeed a lot of shorter videos around, but you used to make them shorter and I preferred them above other short YT'ers reviews. You seemed to point out all the things I wanted to know.
