UPDATE: I'm an idiot 😋 and forgot to mention the Pixel 3 does of course have a dedicated nightscape mode. Also, while the s10 technically has a night mode. You can't manually turn it on, it has tobe VERY dark, and tbh it doesn't make much difference.
@@peterdukess9115 I just switched from the note 9 to the s10 and I really like the feel.. no pen.. but the s10 is way easier to access because of the size. note 9 is a giant phone and didn't fill comfortable in my hand.. s10 feels faster and much more smoother as well
@@WahidasTinyWorld Thats just the unavoadable law of thermodynamics. iPhones experence this to at some point. Most smartphones aren't vented very well so its normal for them to heat up a little unless they start smoking then you may have a battery problem. Most of the normal heat comes from the CPU.
@Jazmin - what phone do you have now and what are some reaons to switch to the S10+? Too many phones to choose from. I need to make a decision soon. Thanks for any advice you'd like to share!
Panda Rush I am using an IPhone 8 Plus But I am not enjoying so much I just do RU-vid, what’s app, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok And on top of that I am paying and updating every month It’s not fun like Samsung I see Huawei mate it’s so nice and I really recommend ❤️
@@jazziesvlogs7840 How do you choose between Huawei and Samsung S10+? I never heard of Huawei until 6 months ago. I wish phones werent so EXPENSIVE! It's crazy.
people complaining about samsung overexpose, while you can easily (I mean too easy) change the exposure right from the cam ui, just slide down exposure lvel slightly and the exposure lvel is better
@@20konane Or A Phone Simply Not Fucking Overexposing When You Just Paid 700-1000 Dollars For It. Besides, Some Customers, Whether American Or Not, Aren't Knowledgeable Of What Overexposing Even Is Or How To Change It.
@@anthonybrazzle customers who are not "knowledgeable of overexposure" obviously wouldn't even see it as a problem. The Samsung camera (since the S8) takes very high quality photos that the average consumer you're speaking of would be completely satisfied with. The overexposure is actually not that bad, but is only an issue here because phones are getting so good we have to nit-pick. It will only be an issue to those who are very keen on image reproduction, people who can actually take a second to control the exposure before taking a shot.
@@Sau0791 Pixel always crush the blacks and shadows, if you watch Danny Winget's or Jonathan Casey's detailed camera comparison you will see how good the S10 camera is. The only advantage Pixel has over S10 is "Night Sight" and somewhat better selfies.
I mean it makes sense. Phones are just computers in our pockets. ARM based processors even rival older desktop CPUs in performance while being much more efficient and some phones like the S line have Dex functionality. Plus the way we use our phones is continuing to change as we demand more and having more ram is easier than trying to optmize software for a weaker device
@@dennisp8520 Yea our phones are becoming our new computers. But I've seen nobody complaining about RAM problems with a iPhone X/XS. While they have like 3/4GB or ram.
@@Crips02 Trust me when I say that there are people who complain. Also, that being said it's not a fair comparison. IOS is rather different from Android. For starters, Apple has full control over its ecosystem and as such can attempt to optimize it better than Android. Secondarily IOS lacks a lot of the features that Android has and as such does not need the same amount of system resources to complete its tasks. As apps do get more feature rich IOS will be forced to add more ram once again in order to meet the demand and make up for lazy developers.
@Mollie Brown I recommend you to go for it, without any hesitations! You will absolutely love it, and the wide angle camera is a dream come true. Plus it's so smooth, which honestly surprised me for the better. After using it, It feels and looks more premium than an iPhone in my opinion, I would say the switch is definitely 100% worth it!
I’ve watched almost every review I could find on RU-vid and they were only complaining about unnecessary things and stuff like that. I just wanted to say that your review on the other side is reeaally helpful! Thank you! Best review I’ve seen :)
It's always is and in conclusion? There's no such thing as "wait for the next phone" just get what youre interested in and change when you think it's time. Technology's just getting better each time. But we do have ti agree that the s10 is the most complete phone dont you think?
So you didn't get the S10? I am saving up for a note 9 now then when Black Friday/Christmas comes(November-December), I will upgrade to the Note 10. 😎🔥😍 Wish you luck!
I agree, and I've had the Galaxy note 9 since it came it out. I love the note series but this S10 Plus got me to pre order. I'm definitely excited to see the note 10 and upgrading.
Loved the review however you're missing one very important feature! The galaxy phones (even if you own the Samsung 8!) Have one of the best manual settings for the camera. If you're semi familiar with a dslr you will find lots to do under these settings. You can control just about everything from the f-stop, iso and manual focus. This gives you complete control over your phone's camera! You can even do star photography with theae settings by keeping your shutter speed open for a few seconds. This feature gets over looked a lot and it seems most who review these phones miss it. The pixel series don't have these features. While their are apps that enable to use gimmick like features... it's simply not the same. The pixel phones also add sharpness when processing the photos. This can be a nightmare if you like to shoot in RAW. The reason no contrast, sharpness is added into the galaxy phones.. and why the picture appears to be flat is so you can go in and have even more control over your photo in post. I hope this helped those deciding on which phone to buy if the camera is your main reason for making the switch! I also think people don't review these options simply because not enough people care or would ever use the manual settings. If you want a phone that does the work for you with great results then the latest iPhone and or pixel is a great option depending on what OS you prefer. I personal prefer using manual mode on my galaxy and when I pick up the latest s10+ i will continue to use that mode. After a few days of playing with it you'll know what settings to use when needed. And you'll get much better results than any auto setting on any current phone device. Have fun!
@@BlackParade01 we are talking about the Pixel and Galaxy series. Sure other phones have similar options! But they also don't have the best cameras. As someone with the phones mentioned I'm giving my input on those devices. It's also worth noting some of the phones that do offer manual control don't actually give you full access to what's possible with their cameras. Which is why open source camera apps some of use aren't fully functional. But yes other phones do have those options. But im responding to this video and the pixel/galaxy phones :)
Mate 20 pro gets better results than the s10 manual mode or not. Can also do manual on the mate 20pro as well as tons of features the s10wont have such as night mode, and light painting.
@@biffstor gotta say thats somewhat true. Huawei has really stepped up it's game been the youngest company out of the Big 4 in terms of camera (Apple, Samtam and google) I got a p10 and it has so many modes and settings which weren't on phones and still some aren't in today's phones
Hey Tom! I've been an avid follower of your channel, I must say that this review is leaps and bounds better than most channels. You were very eloquent throughout the stellar presentation aswell as offered an in-depth personalized opinion. Kudos! Keep up the good work mate.
I switched from Apple with my iphone 6s plus to samsung galaxy S10+ last year just after my 19th birthday and i love it. Had it for a year now and had absolutly no problems with it at all, i noticed that a lot of my friends and family also made the switch from Apple to samsung too over the past 2 years 🤷♀️
As soon as he showed you can change the landscape mode while watching videos to move the cut-out to the bottom right.. I knew this was going to be a good review.
I absolutely love this phone! Still runs like a beast since launch, especially with ONE UI 3.0 OTTERBOX Folio case has kept my phone damage free since I got it. Front screen protection ftw
Personally, being someone who doesn't have much use for a camera, I wish they would make the camera lenses a lot less conspicuous. Especially the front camera.
Great review. I've had my S10 plus for 3 months. I can't fault it at all. The camera is superb. So much so, that I've never taken so many photos in my life!
Just got my S10PLUS 2 days ago. Love it. Used my right thumb print to open. No problem very easy. I ordered the 128GB version. I was pleasantly surprised to find a free 128GB micro sim in the box. Also came with free sim card and 3 month of service from Mint Mobile. Those were the icing on the cake
I got the S10 and people looking to get it the first thing I'd do while you're waiting for it to be delivered is go get a case. It can get slippy and it's too beautiful to be throwing a desk without a case
Hey good review... I went to Best Buy here in the States and looked at them and I decided on a regular S10 as it's quite a bit easier to handle one handed. I thought about the 10 e but its display might only be 5.8 inches compared to 6.1 inches on the Galaxy S10, but it’s actually only half a millimeter narrower than its larger counterpart.
Started off as an android user and switched to Apple in 2013. When the two could compete. Over the years Apple has only managed to consistently keep the price up rather than compete with others in the market. Just got the S10+ now wish me luck. Looks like the s10+ blows the Xs max out of the water
actually i bought s10+ but before i thought of getting the s10 because i thought it was compact n better But when i saw both s10 n s10+,s10+ is not at all that big,to change ur decision to get the s10,u get extra features like bigger battery n 5 camera .It is ultra slim n very light weight. Also u get galaxy watch.
I'm an avid Apple user I have the whole ecosystem. But I love this Samsung S10 + being able to customize as much as I want it amazing the camera and color is so amazing. I love it.!!!
Davita Washington I too have been an Apple fanboy for years....MacBook Pro, iPad, iPhone and iMac But the Samsung s10+ has made me ditch the iPhone for it
I dumped my iphone7plus for the s10+. No regrets, super fast, display, cameras & battery are excellent. I finally found out what I've been missing. Plus it incorporates all the premium features!
This was an awesome review, touched on alot of the things I wanted to see! Thanks, I have just confirmed ill be jumping away from apple and back to old faithful with the Samsung S10+. I'll never have an Iphone again!
Just got s10 very nice phone also had pixel phones and without a doubt pixel best camera. But that's not important to me. After a few days getting use to it. It's a very nice phone. It has a real high quality feel to it built nice and very snappy and smooth.
Appreciate you doing your review in 18:9 aspect ratio. When zoomed in to the edges on my s10 there was also no cut off's or lost of video on the top or bottom.
I take a lot of pictures and some video with my Samsung Galaxy S10 plus which I've had for about a week and a half. It will take a while to learn all the video options. With my usage I find it useful to carry an external battery pack since it won't be unusual to have power drop below 15% otherwise in less than half a day. I love the zoom at 10X! I think you gave it a fair review.
I had to upgrade to the the S10+ in Ceramic White from the S7. I was never a Note fan (too big for my liking) and the S8 didn't get my attention. The S9 got my attention at the end of last year only because my S7 started to act crazy. I held off because I knew a newer version was coming out soon. Boy was I glad I waited. This is for sure a fantastic upgrade for me coming from the S7.
@@sakibkhan5383 The S7 Edge is a great device. I will only switch because my battery starts to die, the display has some burn ins and the speakers blow out from time to time.
Great review, I’m looking to buy the S10+ also need a smart watch, does google have a smart watch if yes do a full review on it too....or probably you already have.
@@james68279 I love the OLED screen on the Note 8/9. Nothing matches these phones for watching movies and content consumption. Also one UI is a game changer.
Not worth the extra money tbh. Your phone is good enough no need to upgrade until the next iteration or Note 10. I just bought Note 9 and I am very happy with it.
Wait a year or 2 and than tell me what phones better. These android phones are always great when they’re new. After using them for awhile they turn to shit.
