Correction: S22 Ultra has LTPO Display but don't have 1Hz-120Hz support. Galaxy S24 Ultra vs S22 Ultra - Are you willing to update to s24 ultra and if you did are you guys happy with s24 ultra?
Paid $775 for S24U-512GB after $600 S22U--512GB trade-in and Samsung discounts. Is the upgrade worth it? It feels about 10% more responsive and it has about 3 hours a day better battery life. For me it's worth it because I love new tech and I'm paying over 2 years with no interest. I also like the extra 2 years of updates. Otherwise, a regular person does not need to upgrade. I'm good for at least another 4 years
$1,400 for a new phone is ridiculous. I can live with a few short comings especially since i purchased the 22 ultra for $500 after upgrading from a s20FE due to a shattered screen.
Yeah same here. Just bought the 512GB/12GB RAM S22 Ultra for $480 coming from a Note 8. I honestly dislike the curved screen on the Note 8 and will too on the S22 Ultra, but for $900 I can put up with it for a couple more years. I'll never understand why they went with the curved screen in the first place as I feel like it looks worse and makes the phone less functional because of accidental touches.
the ONLY way I'd get a brand new phone is if my cellphone company pays off the balance or theres a steal with a trade-in value. (say $800 off or more) otherwise I'd just buy a 2 year old phone, and pay in full.
@JeffreyBoles to be honest I understand where you are coming from but back in 2015 that curved display was a killer I remember s6 edge looking way more sexy than both iphone 6 and 6s at the time even apple users were tempted to switch over to Samsung, I believe on s7 going up that's when it got out of hand but when curved display started it was actually cool to see an lcd that could bend side ways Making it feel more durable
S22U-512 just got for $460 in Mint shape. It's a hell of a phone. The 24 is superior I'd say. But is also 3x the price. Personally, I like the screen better on the 22, and I like the slight curved screen myself.
I'm used to flat screen (even on the 14PM that I owned), and I love the curved screen as it feels and looks unique. Even cheaper phones have flat screen, so.... 🤷🏻♂️
If its in a very good condition it is a solid buy. The S22 Ultra is still a great phone. Only Battery life is mediocre....not bad..not very good. Performance, display, sound and cameras are fantastic 😊 I bought mine 3 months ago for €525,- No regrets at all!!!
It's worth the upgrade *if you're planning on a new phone anyway* I went from 22u to 24u, and I'm happy with it. But my 22u was a bit beat up... and became a hand me down to my daughter. But otherwise, id probably have held out another year.
I don't think it's worth upgrading from s22 to s24. Sure, you get a better processor and a slightly better camera, but is this worth 1200 dollars? The only issue I have with my s22 ultra is the battery life. As things stand right now, it's not worth upgrading your samsung phone for at least 3-4 generations.
can I ask you if I am not a gamer and I use phone just for social media and some photo design in pics art app, would the battery life suck too or would I have any problems with lagging with a snapdragon chip, I am considering buying a refurbished one but a little hesitant! Thank you
@nidalaraby2527 You should be fine with the s22 ultra for social media och photo editing. S22 ultra is a great phone and you will get through the day with photo editing and social media. The only downside with s22 ultra is that you will only get 2 more years with software updates, and we don't know yet if the s22 series will get the AI functions.
I was going to hold on my S22 ultra until the S25 series but since my contract ends next month and by trading in my S22U for the S24U, i'm paying about £20 less than what i'm paying now, i'm going with the S24U.
Would be a good decision and I still think it will be a big change for you. The anti reflective coating and that the performance with battery life improvements would make a big impact on your experience with S22 Ultra compare to S24 Ultra.
@@sayyestocompare I hope so coz my S22U is a lil beast on its own lol. Never had any problems since the 2 years i've had it. Even the battery life for mine is still up there considering i've been using as a 5G router for like 1.5 years now.
LOL. I had the S22u and now i have the S24u. I didnt buy the S23u because this one was more simular to the S22u. And i love this S24u way much more then the S22u. I hated the curved edges on the S22u and i am really happy samsung removed those edges. Those edges where in my own personal preferences just anoying. And also the S24u is slightly faster, better camera, better battery, and more option then the S22u had. So yeah, i did make the upgrade and i have no regrets so far.
I want to say the same, but I have small hands, and holding S24 Ultra is kinda of a bothersome, I can't even put in my pocket because it's too chunky and big. I miss my S22 Ultra for sure.
S22 ultra is really trash next to s23 ultra... S24 ultra competely destroy it and its a huge upgrade. I upgrade every year and i really hate s22 ultra because of really poor battery, overheating, bad 5g/4g reception, bad speakers and screen...
Made the switch from my 22 ultra to the 24 ultra. Absolutely love this phone. Especially the display and battery life! Ill be sticking with this one for quite a while.
tbh with u s22 ultra not worth it brand new now the prices are almost the same 200 dolar or eu diff thats not much but its a 2 year old phone so if u want to buy a galaxy s ultra never buy last year or 2 year old model buy the newest but if u are in to normal s lineup then yes an s22 for 500 eu brand new worth it but for ultra nah maybe used but never new
We cannot compare both of them. As S22 Ultra has an advantage over cameras, display and all. Also, it depends which one are you are getting Snapdragon or Exynos. If one would say S22 Ultra or s23 Ultra. I would say S23 Ultra is miles ahead. But you are going for base model s23. There is a big size difference as well.
Sorry, but a correction is due. The S22 Ultra started with 128GB and 12GB here in my country. I have the 256GB 12GB version, and there was no 8GB version.
@sayyestocompare I know there was an 8GB RAM version, but not here in my country. I mentioned it because your comparison spoke of the 8GB version and not of the 12GB version of the S22 Ultra. What you said made it sound like a bias. In many ways, the S24 is a better device because Samsung had nearly 2 years to work on the bugs found in the S22 and S23. Obviously, the S24 is the better device, and with software support which the S22 does not have.
S24...Better display, better brightness, better camera, better zoom options, better video, better processor, better battery, no curved display. This equals no brainer upgrade from S22...if you can afford it.
Same display, unnoticeable difference in brightness, insignificant camera upgrade, much better battery, ugly, primitive, flat display, widely reported constant heating issues even when not even using the phone. I switched carriers and was sent the S24U just towards the end of last week. After using it over the weekend, I'm returning it for the S22U. Any "upgrade" the S24U has is so marginal you will not notice it. And the ugly, flat display needs to go the way of the dodo.
@@rahman9148I have both and am returning the S24U this week. The upgrades this guy mentions are so minimal it's unnoticeable. It's like adding a spec of sand to a beach then saying that beach is bigger-technically, it is bigger, but it's unnoticeable and insignificant. The only difference between the two phones is the curved vs flat display. Personally, I find flat displays ugly and primitive. I was offered $1000 off the S24U for switching carriers and even the remaining price isn't worth paying for a worse phone overall. Oh, and the S24U heats up to the point of burning my hand even if I literally have just the browser with 1 tab opened. A single Google search reveals this is a problem with the S24U in general, and not an isolated or minority issue. So yeah, please don't upgrade. It isn't an upgrade if you like curved displays. And if you don't, it's not worth money regardless. I'm returning my S24U this week.
I'm in the market i think to upgrade. My S22 Ultra's bluetooth stopped working after the latest update it won't connect to the s pen and won't connect to any other bluetooth devices in pairing mode it just doesn't work. I don't want to upgrade but this issue is forcing me unfortunately..is anyone else with an S22 Ultra having this same bluetooth issue after upgrading the software? Mine is the US model.
@@leonvanlent5069 yea tried everything I think the bluetooth module got fried after the update, nothing I did would make it work. I have the S24 Ultra now and love it, the flat screen alone is a huge upgrade. Everyone is whining about the screens picture quality, it's a beautiful display hands down.
