If you have the 23 Ultra, you don't really need to upgrade until 2029. Save yourself some money and actually utilise your s23 to its full capacity and capability.

Keeping my s23 ultra, it's a beast in power and battery after a year of use

Going from the s22 ultra to the 24 seems like a nice upgrade though. Maybe not a 23

I don't see much improvement on S24U over S23U. But I wish to see if someone can do a battery testing on both S24U and S23U.

There's no reason to upgrade my s23 Ultra to a new s24 Ultra 🤔.

It simply does little sense to upgrade from the S23 Ultra to the S24 Ultra. We've reached a point in time where we only get minor changes at each passing generation. I have pre-ordered my S24 Ultra after 4 years plus with my Note 10+, and still I would gladly stay another year with it if it weren't the for lack of software updates.

The curved screen is so special.... i'm not ready to let go of my s23ultra

I reserve the right to change my mind later on in the year but for now I'm good with my 23 Ultra

I spent a around USD 1,600 for the 1TB version with one of the smart case. Upgrading from Note 9, so I think it's worth it

I'm waiting on that Galaxy Z Fold 6 with the S Pen slot and bigger outer screen.

I'm still rockin the GS22U and it's still going strong. I don't think I really need to upgrade but that GS24U sure looks tempting..

Great content. Question. Is the fingerprint scanner any quicker on the s24 ultra or the same as the s23 ultra 🤔. I guess you forgot to mention that the s24 ultra gets 7 years of updates. As for the frame, if you carry your phone naked the I guess the titanium is good, but remember when Titanium scratches, you can't polish or rebuff it, but most people hopefully will put it in a case, and use a screen protector.

Thank you for taking the time to make and post this excellent review on the New *Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.* This might be my next smartphone...

My opinion on this: in Germany an upgrade from S23 Ultra 512GB to S24 Ultra 512GB costs 749 EUR (as trade-in but also by self selling S23 Ultra the difference will be still around 700 EUR), the spec differences are not worth the money. About the titanium build, on the weight comparison I have seen that they have similar weights so.. for usability no difference. Performance? Will most of the time not be noticed, even between my S10 Plus and my S23 Ultra 12GB I do no see on daily usage/basis a significant/wow difference. The camera, yes 50Mpx might offer a slight improvement but for sure doesn't change the whole experience for the price. The brightness, well, even 1750 nits were also more than fine. And regarding AI, just to search with a circle or for some post processing stuff, I can live without it (and to be honest, I expect these to be more a SW implementation than really a HW implementation, if they play this card for an upgrade, well, not for me :D)

It's all well and good that you get 2600 nits of brightness but has anyone thought about what that will do to the battery life of the S24 devices?

I'm glad they are bringing UI 6.1 to S23 Ultra, and the charges are very minor. Still have 24 payments left for the 23, got a pretty good deal with trade in. I'll be losing money if I pay it off, I'll lose over 500 dollars in credits....I'll be in the market for thr S26 Ultra..

okay I have a quick question, I recently had my trusty Samsung S21 ultra stolen and need a new phone / travel camera. Option 1 is to pre-order a Samsung S24 ultra (I live in a country where it's yet to arrive) but will have to wait a few weeks to a month.. option 2 is to go ahead and buy an S23 ultra and get it now for about $300 less. I'm mostly looking for camera quality for taking photos while travelling and filming at events (like soccer games and concerts). Is there much point in waiting and paying more for the S24 or would the S23 suffice you think?

My Reasons to upgrade with S$ 466 more is worthy. 1. Additional 12 months warranty. 2. Anti glare is really good. 3. 50 MP lens is really good. 4. Flat display is really good 5. Variable Zooming on 4K video is really good. 6. S23 Ultra case can still be used. 7.Faster and more efficient Qualcom chip. 8. Higher resale value.

I'm still rockin' the s21 ultra, however i did snag the titanium blue yesterday, mainly because i need more storage (my 128gb isn't cutting it anymore), better battery life, faster charging, and brighter screen.

is it worth upgrade from s22+(256gb) to s24 ultra ? or will ai features arrive on s22 series as well ?

Maybe I'll upgrade my S23 Ultra next year. I'm sure they will do a back camera design refresh and of coarse even better internal upgrades. But that's expected with every annual phone release.

As the great improvements these days are software, from now, companies will probably start to cut even more software features from one generatiom to the other. Thats sad, once again users sufering from the nececity of smartphone companies "having" to deliver new phones every year

I moved from the S21 Ultra 5G 256GB to the S24 Ultra 512GB on my carrier, AT&T, for a net expediture of $300 with a $1,000 trade-in. Excited for the upgrade!

Just pre-ordered the S24U with tradein of my Z fold 3. In some ways I'll miss the big screen, but I remember the less wieldy aspect of a regular phone and look forward to that. The upgrades of tech are obvious, so happy to spend the $$$. That camera group and the translation capabilities sound AWESOME!

I'll be keeping my S23 Ultra, I'm one of the view that like the curve on my screen. It differentiated it from the iPhone, especially with the titanium, it's more like an iPhone now. I can live with my camera set up, it's still amazing and the AI will come with updates. I'll keep my S23 and wait till the S25.

I am happy with my s23 Ultra and its worth to keep it in use at least a few more years, no dramatic change really.

Excellent comparison...for me it's going to boil down to price.....we get no offers, no trade in's (take it or leave it attitude) and I can get the S23 Ultra which is now cheaper than the S24 plus . It's ludicrous...the vanilla variant is 929 euros and Exynos....whereas the S24 Ultra is an eye watering 1500 euros (base model). Frankly I'd have to be insane. I know this might not concern other people but that's the way it is in my country and NO money does not grow on trees here. And it has to come from Amazon Germany. I have an S21 Ultra but the way things are going these phones aren't going to get any cheaper down the line.

It was an easy decision for me, I have the S20, so I ran to the preorder site and got my S24Ultra.

My S 23 from note 20 plus was a big mistake it had signal issues calls dropping slow loading programs and when I watch some of these videos my phone didn’t have settings on that it shows I’m not sure why maybe it keeps bringing old settings over I don’t know but I couldn’t always customise it the same has anyone else noticed this I had my s 24 ultra yesterday and just setting it up

Consider sticking to 1 side(either left or right half of the screen) to show the s23 or s24 differences..

I noticed that in the thumbnail, the S23 Ultra screen is taller at the top but a little shorter at the bottom, if you slightly push the S24 Ultra vertically, the screen size is basically the same.

I get the new phone every year. This version is a must do... 7 years of updates, titanium, faster, flat screen (goodbye glue on screen protectors), brighter, better camera, AI..... The 23 over the 22 was the "you can pass this version" Any who, I get an unlocked phone every year w/ the full coverage (ins) 1tb. So, here you get 1tb for the price of the 512. I'm guessing that they'll make more improvements next year but the only consideration to an S25U would be the depreciation of the S24U. How much will you be able to sell your S23U for right now vs. selling it next year for the S25U???? Samsung is offering $750 for a trade in and I took that but I listed my S23U for $1100 for it and all of the S23U stuff I accumulated. I've got about a month to sell the S23U and it's mint. If I can part w/ it the new phone will cost me $500 all said and done. How much will I get for an S23U in 2025? Probably not much. Thanks for your work Saki....

how will the features come to s23 when they need a NPU?

The majority is no, the only real exception i see is if you either do heavy gaming and find s23u to throttle a bit more than you'd like. Or you heavily use it outdoors and need the extra 40% brightness. I'd like to see the actual difference in fps stability and average with the 1.9x size vap chamber

I have the s 23 Ultra and I love ❤️ it. I always say skip 1 oe 2 Generations before upgrading. You will Eventually get all of the updates from 24 to the s 23. I just don't think it's worth the upgrade unless you have the 22 or something else like you want to switch from apple to Android Samsung ultra 24.. or you just a person who have to have the latest everything. I like the design, but the s 23 Ultra is still a major player. And hot phone, so I'll pass and wait on the s 25 Ultra.

I chose to stick with the iPhone 11 due to financial constraints. I previously owned a Galaxy Note 9, but it broke due to the curved display, which made it difficult to repair. I decided to try out the iPhone 13, but it was too expensive, so I settled for the iPhone 11. Although I miss having the S-pen and being on the Samsung side, I hope to get a job soon to be able to afford one. Unfortunately, I’m not very good at interviews.

Regardless of what phone you have the bigger jump you do gains will be better. And usually going to the next one up like S22U to S23U will have less benefits than going from S22U to S24U for example. The financial side is up to the individual to decide if it's worth it or not.

Thanks Saki! People should understand that Samsung plans to charge for AI as subscription at the end of 2015. It's not clear what that means but it would seem that Samsung gets to use us to test AI as it works to make it better. I'm still going to upgrade from S23 ultra to the S24 ultra myself but I feel like the all the AI talk is not being made clear.

I was set on not upgrading, but the trade in along with valuable free gifts that I can sell as well as cashback on top made me cave in. Cost to upgrade will be about £300.
