iPhones are easier to repair than Galaxy phones. There are no pentalope screws holding the screen on. And there's glue securing both halves. I've replaced screens on a couple iPhones. I don't even wanna think about replacing one on a Samsung.
@@EastDallasKicks I never even thought of it. Thanks for pointing that out. The only iPhones I've worked on were the 5s. And I have a friend who broke his screen, but he's starting another job soon. I'm giving him a new screen and a new battery as a going away present. I hope he likes his new job.
Always will wait up until 00:00 BST for Hugh’s customary Midnight weekly video, watch it, like the video then go off to bed, as always a brilliant video Hugh!, really can’t get enough of these restorations!! ❤️
Thanks to watching this video i managed to copy your handy work and now i have a phone like new . So happy, iv had a flashing screen for months. Thanks hugh 👍
*"I should also note the charging coil has what looks to be a price sticker on it, which I guess has been replaced at some point given the previous opening attempt and they've obviously damaged the wireless charging coil in their process of changing out the back glass."* Cut out part: *"Lol noob, should've hired me to fix it"* *"Either way though, now that I have the plastic shield off-"*
Good One , Mate, i never thought Samsung has support for replacing parts, although ure carefullness and advisory amazing through out the video.. respect bro!!!!!!
Lol my mom's s7 edge is as broken as hell. Now, she made a deal with me saying that if the phone was fixed, she will give it to me. It didn't, then I wished I just saw a worker as talented in fixing as you. Our hope is lost so we just bought a Huawei Y6 Pro.(not complaining, this phone is LIT)
I found one of these in a similar condition underneath my car, when plugged in it shows a grey charging symbol but refuses to turn on, I'm suspecting that the battery is bad as it has a slight swelling at the bottom
s7 edge screens are so fragile! I dropped mine from around 5 ft WITH a case on it and pink lines all up and down the screen. it fell on its face, I can still use it but the display doesn't it turn on sometimes. by far the most fragile device I've ever used! great video man! very VERY satisfying!
I am watching this on my S7 edge :) Great job! But when I was restoring mine I changed only glass without amoled panel, it was much harder, but cost me only 20$.
Great restoration! There is a guy on a channel called Odd Tinkering that shows excellent methods of rust removal and buffering out scratches. Definitely soothing to listen to you make the repairs!
I am now watching this on my cracked screen of the galaxy s7 edge. It was given by a friend. I dont repair it because I cant afford to buy a glass replacement. Just hoping that one day the screen will be able to be repaired. It is my dream phone, I love it.
Those phones are destroyed to a point where basically all the parts are replaced or..... The whole phone is just a newer phone.... Unless this was Autoglass, no one's gonna fix nothing...
Ultimate I think he means restoring the phone to brand new condition/repairing it to functional condition. It’s common sense that he’s not going to repair the glass.
Might be something small however one of the biggest things about this device was the IPS standards coming in and it wouldn't be a complete restoration without that being replaced as well
Brought a grade c s7 edge for 160 came pretty scratched , but it got the pink line which was good as I had warranty, then my warranty replaced the whole screen and frame, and new back glass and camera unit , meaning the phone was mint, I then sold it for £210:) made £70 and used a s7 edge for 6 months great phone
Point of advice... 1. Make sure you don’t accidentally stab the black part behind the battery because if you do you can seriously damage your AMOLED display. The S8+ I bought actually was repaired very poorly and there was a mark on the back of the display causing a black dot and a line 2. Make sure you have VERY good adhesive for the back and not some cheap adhesive tabs that you find for $0.99 on eBay. Even though they feel sticky, I was able to take the back off with not even my nails. It’s that week so make sure you get good adhesive strips.
Probably. If it’s a phone he doesnt know much about, he would probably watch one. I don’t think he would start repairing a phone he doesn’t even know how to repair.
I had to do a screen replacement on my s7 edge but I wanted to do it as cheap as possible so I got one without the frame (thankfully ot had the factory glue on it) and my back panel wasnt cracked so getting that off was a 40 min adventure. But in the end I did it for about half of what a repaor shop would have charged me.
My dad had an s7 edge because the one time he wants to upgrade his note 3, the note 7 is recalled for catching on fire and exploding, even though his note in particular was fine, even after the first recall, he eventually had to get the s7 edge. He did recently upgrade to the note 10+ and I think he likes it so far
Whitestone dome screen protectors are the best screen protectors for curved glass not sure if they do ones for the edge and tell the owner of this phone to get a good case obviously not looking after the device very well great video 👍
