I was in dire need of a tablet upgrade with my Galaxy Tab S7 FE slowing to a crawl, and even though I use an iPhone, I knew I wanted an Android tablet because I appreciated the versatility (expandable storage, wider emulation options, easier uh... 'alternative' (🏴☠️) methods for movies and apps, etc). Of course, I'm fully aware that iPads are better for video/photo editing with their better apps, but my main use was reading/marking documents, watching media and a little bit of gaming, so Android suits my needs just fine. The question was whether I should buy the new Tab S10+, or just go for the older S8/S9 series. Going for older models didn't seem like too bad of an idea, especially since they were much cheaper used, and the upgrades from a Tab S9+ to S10+ are marginal at best. What ultimately tipped me over to the S10+ was the 7 years of support. It's crazy to think that I'd still be using this thing in 2031 and it'd be still fully supported by Samsung til then. I can't help but think that I'd feel screwed over if I owned a Tab S9 though; I don't see why the Tab S10 can be supported that long and the virtually identical S9 can't. Also their trade-in deals are pretty insane, especially when combined with the student discounts they also have; it didn't really make sense to buy the older tab models since this new one only cost a tiny bit more with all those discounts. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase, but the only thing that kiiiinda has me regretting it is the release of that new Snapdragon Elite chip; I'm starting to wonder if I just bought into a decidedly last-gen device here because of that. But so far I can't complain about the performance or battery life, so whatever I guess. I just hope it doesn't slow down as drastically as my Tab S7 FE did.
I 1000% agree with you. Your thoughts are completely dead on. But don't feel too bad at all about the elite processor. Yes it's quite groundbreaking, but we won't get another tablet for at least a year. And it's possible there might be something else groundbreaking in a year that you'd be missing out on too. I don't think you'll notice any speed differences probably doing what you're doing anyway. Great choice overall. And yes I do agree that they probably could support older tablets. But I don't think there's much of a point or incentive for them. They already promised a certain amount of updates for those devices so they are just deciding to keep their promises and use these updates as a way to sell the newer devices. I don't have a huge problem with it mainly because they are keeping their promises at least. And that their software support for the S9 series wasn't terrible. But yeah, if you're someone who keeps a tablet for years, to the point that you let it get to that speed, seems like a good idea to get an S10 series device. You made the right decision
@@AndroidDigest Thanks! Made me feel a lot better about the Snapdragon thing hahaha. And keep up the great work! Your videos were my main source when I was researching what to buy, and even after I’ve already made my purchases, I still find myself watching your channel. Just great stuff
I purchased this tab; I was coming from tab s8+. The tab s8+ was a great tab. I like this tab a little bit better. I like the fact that this tab has a great keyboard cover. I should have gotten the white cover. The tablet itself has been great. I just added a paper-like screen protector. I use my tab to do homework and run my business. I have the Fold 6, and the Tab s10 Plus is the perfect companion. I wish the DEX services would work on Windows devices with the tab s10Plus. The media tech processor works great. I am using the tab a great deal daily.
Zachy, will we ever see Samsung produce an 8 inch tablet with features similar to the latest range of S10 Galaxy tablets? I would definitely buy that one over the latest Apple Mini 7. I loved the self portrait you drew, so lifelike
It's definitely possible. But I don't see it on the horizon as of yet. After all, they didn't even release the 11-in version this year. So who knows. Maybe one day they will release something like it. We'll have to wait and see. Thanks for the compliment on the portrait. I know my drawing skills are pretty unmatched
Im using the Samsung tab s5e still. It's using a Super Amoled, and i love watching movies and RU-vid videos on it. That's all I use it for. But the notch on the ultra and spending $900 after my trade-in still is a lot of money to just watch shows and movies. Though I might use it to play Call of duty using controller, Microsoft word and editing YT shorts for my channel. But..... ..The tab 10+ no notch cut out, and the price after trade my trade-in brings it down to $700. It's also 2" bigger than my 10.5" screen. It's also much much more powerful processing with a nice 120hz refresh rate compared to my 60hz underpowered tab s5e 10.5". Which one should I get? Is that notch there always or so what i do with my s24 ultra and turn off full screen, Or does that look funny or not work in vertical mode? I've always hated notches and hole punch outs on my screens. I'd rather have bezels all day vs something bothering me on my screen, especially on the side when using it vertically... 😮
This was my entry table. Its great but I really dont like the book cover keyboard's inability to stay straight without support. Doesnt help in the bed. Other than that its awesome, im enjoying working outdoors with the reflective coating
I am a member of an online language learning site. Normally, when I click the join class button on the computer, it redirects me to the Zoom application, but it doesn't do this on the tablet. I have to continue through the web, which causes a delay. What could be the reason for not directing it to the application?
I really don't grasp this evolution with growing sizes and a larger price. I've always seen the tablet as a compliment but it seems like more and more manufacturers try to create a daily driver that will replace your laptop. Sure, the products are powerful but they lack to much in so many areas to be able to achieve this. And why would it take such a path? I want a decent powerful 9-10 inch tablet with a pen, video out, and a good multitask capability. That segment seems rare right now however.
If you can afford it, because I'm not sure what you're defining as not expensive, I would say the OnePlus 12 are. If not, I think the Lenovo tab plus is exactly what you need. It's 11.5 in. It's recently released, it has a kickstand built into the tablet. A really nice screen.. I plan to review it soon. But I would probably take it over the Lenovo p12.
I kind of think it's a shame thwt when Samsung changed to just two devices they didn't make the sizes a 11.5" smaller one with a 13" ultra that matches small notebooks. A 12.4" feels a little bit big to me :(
@@AndroidDigest I'm hoping it's all a nefarious plan to get everyone to buy the expensive Plus model, then perhaps a normal one might be available later once everyone's bought their Christmas presents, lol! But I need to replace my own though so I'm making plans to visit a store and see how it feels anyway. At least typing on screen will be a little nicer.
Having a pixel 9 pro I see no advantages getting a Samsung android tablet like this over an iPad Pro. Samsung lock down continuity so you must have a Samsung phone. Can someone tell me I'm wrong. I'm holding back purchasing
While many people have been criticizing Samsung tablets, I have been using the Tab S8+ since its release, and it is still performing well. I can only imagine how good the Tab S10+ might be. However, my Tab S8+ is still working great, and I have no intention of upgrading it anytime soon.
It's easy to get dazzled by the hype and FOMO, but unless you have extreme use needs, you probably won't notice much difference between this and an older model.
It's not that significant of an upgrade. Enjoy what you have. You upgrade when you're ready. It's worth upgrading for some. And others will still enjoy what they have
my S6 still going strong. however was in the market for a new tablet, choices were between ipad pro 11" M4 and Tab S10+. Got the S10+ and extremely happy with it
It's ree tar dead to think that you need to buy every year the newer version. Tablets are like cars...a new model comes out every year but they are the same identical car with minor cosmetic changes or superficial changes but they are not targeting those who bought the same vehicle the year before. The target should be to lure and entice people who don't have one yet or a much older tablet and this is the time to upgrade...stop focusing on the ones who bought it last year. 99% are good for now.
If you're saying putting a screen protector on removes the benefit. I agree! I mentioned that in the video. So it's a feature that only matters if you plan to use no screen protector or an anti reflective one
Not a bad idea. I still think you will have slightly more reflections versus these but I think it will help. I'm going to make a video on the anti-reflective screen protectors. But I will say it's a pretty tough install. It's easy to get dust underneath. Or to install it wrong. So you may want to buy multiples on Amazon and return what you don't use
Can anyone and android digest suggest me between samsung s10+(₹67k $796) or ipad air m2(₹65k $773 without pencil). I first thought Samsung but then my cousin suggest ipad bcz he said if you are spending this much then buy ipad & whatever ever youtubers says samsung is good but the one who uses know that ipad is best I'm also not getting free pencil at ₹65k Suggest me plz I'm also thought ipad but i will buy ipad bcz it's an apple product(& pro apps) but i see Samsung bcz of s10+ at 67k but & get the s pen also. I just then thought the same that if I'am spending around 65k i should consider ipad but i have to use 3rd party pencil also. I'm concerned about Samsung's battery degradation bcz i heard their batteries aren't that good & the lifespan of Samsung is less than ipad are these things true Plz consider my point and help me out which one should i buy it would be a pleasure. Thank you 😊 Plz give me an unbaised suggestion bcz I don't want to regret after spending so much😅
Oh I don't mind keeping it unbiased. I recommend iPads to people all the time. I will say the Samsung has a better screen (AMOLED VS ips), a better refresh rate (120hz vs 60) which also means faster pen input. And if 12GB of RAM on the Samsung vs 8 on the iPad. The iPad will be a little faster. It's hard to tell day-to-day, but it does have a faster processor. And the iPad will have those Pro apps. I think it's a bunch of propaganda or crazy stuff to say that the batteries somehow don't last as long on Samsung in the long run. Samsung's will last and so will iPads. And the Samsung tablets have 7 years of software updates now. So in my opinion, Samsung has an edge as far as the hardware, in most situations. But Apple has the edge as far as the software. There will be a little bit of extra optimization in some apps and of course they have a couple of pro apps, if you actually use those. Personally I think it's an ecosystem thing. If you use an iphone, and if you are okay with having the worst refresh rate, I would recommend an ipad. But the Samsung is a slightly better value with the SD card slot. And with the extra specs that it has. But the iPad isn't far behind at all. And it's sensational and better with software. So it's a toss up. That's why I recommend you just pick the one that goes with your ecosystem
@AndroidDigest I'm speechless that you elaborated me this much😅 most of the youtuber don't do that Actually I literally too much confused but I'm to samsung side more bcz of that extra edge my uncle has a Samsung tab and it's about 6 years old and working well as 2,32 gb varient I liked samsung bcz I watched so much on RU-vid and liked their innovation but concerned that they always launch their premium gadget at high price and sell it literally at half price in sale which is steal deal but I have noticed that their budget phones aren't that good midranges have heating issues and battery flow just that s23 line ups are good but I haven't heard this things about their tablets and I'm bit confused about their longevity if I don't break them accidentally I think they must run upto 7-8 years bcz I'm putting this much money first time & want for my med studies & don't wanna regret and get mocked by my siblings that I bought a $800 samsung tab😅 I'm to inclined towards s10+ but only that stops me is that I have heard to much that ipads long laster but to me ipad os & refresh rate sucks to me & also student discount isn't applying so no free pencil.I used iPhone 11(5 watt charger ,60hz,camera isn't that good,2800mah battery and many more I had the worst experience even a $75 poco phone felt more useful to me😅 And I have seen youtubers comparing m4 ipad with s10+ which is like about $300 more than this & comments section is inclined towards samsung and I thought I'm getting a tab at $800 which is like exact to a $1100-1200 tab. I'm concerned about the longevity, the processor & note making I'm a med student. Sorry I wrote too much but I still think my minds thought wouldn't end even if I write 3 pages.😅 Sorry bro but I hope you will help me out loved you channel. I hope there should be more honest creators like you🥰 Hope you will reply to me when you get free time no worries ☺️
Bro about speed I ain't worried bcz I think I will watch yt,make notes & will do video editing nothing else so m2 would add much more value to me bcz I've used from $100-$ 400 phones their processor handle it but about tab I don't know I have heard that meditaek 9300 is pretty past but I read a comment that the meditaek will not be able to handle the 7 years update it will die earlier than 7 years😅😅 And I also heard that galaxy ai wouldn't be free by 2025 I have to pay for it. Will the 12.4 inches we huge bcz I have a 11 inches Xiaomi pad 6 and it feels huge in my hands😂 I'm so confused 😭😭😭 It also seems that I have too much high priorities 😹 😅😅😅
@@AndroidDigest I don't want apps for drawing & artistic stuff I want that the note making should be great & fabulous, and some video or photo editing apps & amazing useful features that I see for the first time and my reaction would be like wait what it's so great it's fabulous 😅.I just make to focus on my studies and extra curricular activities more😅😅 help me out😅😅 just suggest me the best 😂😂
Yeah my thoughts haven't changed since your first comment. Based on everything you're saying, it seems like you should probably go with the samsung. Again, if you use an iPhone everyday, maybe I'd say go with an ipad. But it seems like you're too big a subjections are maybe being made fun of, or just the mediatek processor not lasting. I don't see any reason why mediatek processors wouldn't last. And yeah, you're still going to get made fun of. There's going to be all these Apple people saying that you wasted all your money. That's pretty much guaranteed. You just have to decide if you care or not. But the Samsung does have better specs compared to the M2 for the money. And it's a little bit of a better value. The iPad is very close though and it's still very good. So it's great for people who are in the Apple ecosystem. I wouldn't let what people think get you down
This AI shit is bad. Do you really suck at school? Well AI can do it for you. Are you terrible at drawing? Well no worries! There's no need to practice and get better because AI can do it for you. If this keeps going the way it is we are not going to know what is real and what isn't.
