Android Digest is a great place to find reviews, news, and deals on Android phones, tablets, and Chromebooks!
Why Android Digest?
Android Digest was created to help people understand android phones, tablets, and Chromebooks. That means that I want to help you find great deals. I also want to help you through difficult transitions like switching carriers or switching to a new cell phone.
Too many tech reviewers are paid to say good things about products, and they just aren't honest. Many tech channels also review things they aren't passionate about.
I talk about Android phones and tablets because I love Android! I review products that I'm interested in using myself, and even though I am an affiliate for some companies, I promise that I am committed to honesty in my reviews.

mid range specs AT RELEASE , 2500 Euro brand new a year after release, totally an "underrated" phone. "Insulting" and "garbage" my came to mind be that is when you use your own brain, something that cloud computing brands clearly states is not well integrated with their core product vision.
I had the Tab S8 Ultra and M4 iPad Pro 13" together for a week and I returned the iPad Pro almost immediately. It's a powerhouse, but with stale OS. Tab S8 Ultra offers more flexibility with creative and workflow.
Just got my s9 fe+ 4 days ago, and its been a joy to use so far. My only complaint is that the screen isnt as clear as i wanted, but its still really good. Im able to run games like Roblox and Genshin at max quality settings, and there hasn't been a bit of lag. It should be noted that this is 12G/256GB version, so im not sure if the performance will be as good as the 8GB/128GB version. Im using my fe+ right now, and the speakers are clear and the screen is bright. I would recommend this for anyone who doesnt want to shell out as much money on the S9 versions. Great video, as well! I watched this before getting my tablet, and it helped me decide on this tablet.
I bought a S9 Plus with a $600 trade-in of a Tab S8 that i bought used last year for $400. They also threw in a Tab A9+ completely free, so I basically paid a total of $400 (post tax) for a tablet upgrade and a free budget tablet. There's actually a surprisingly noticeable step up in performance considering it's just one year newer, especially in gaming. I'm really liking it so far, especially with the extra bit of screen real estate. Btw, have you considered just using a folding bluetooth keyboard and a regular, slimmer case instead of one of those keyboard cases? I find I don't always need to use the keyboard, so being able to pack away a tiny keyboard only for when I need it to be nice.
Thanks for the great review. Will be getting this tab for my postgrad studies. Could you recommend me apps and alt. accessories(considering that the original accessories are mostly out of stock) that will be useful for me on this device?
Well, if you're in another country, the math changes a bit. That's still a pretty good price though no matter what country you're in. I know best buy has open box S9's for around $500 or just a little less. Those have amoled displays. But even if you find that around $450 on eBay or $500 at Best Buy. $370 is still a decent price for the S8. No amoled. But everything else about it is pretty great
@@AndroidDigest Thank you for your answer sir. I'm from Argentina, crazy prices here. Tab S9 FE goes from 800k to 1.2M ARS, that's like 600 to 850 USD (1 USD = 1350 ARS). I'm thinking on selling the 45W charger for about 40 USD (new ones here cost 70 USD), so I'm paying 330 USD for that Tab S8. I know I'm losing amoled display, no official cover included, and buying an early 2022 tab but… believe me that's the best deal I've found in these last 2 months. What price would you recommend to pay for this tab in a normal country?
Are there 3rd party keyboards that use the pins? Don't really want to also have to charge a keyboard. What's the battery life like on the Dexnor, and how fast does it reconnect when you start typing?
No. Samsung has those patented I'm guessing. No other keyboards use the pins. I don't start typing right away if it's been asleep. It's supposed to last for two weeks of continued usage. But I haven't had to recharge it and it's been over a week. A good amount of usage. It may be 3 or 4 weeks of pretty good usage for a recharge. But it's 4 hours to recharge it. To give an idea. According to amazon. It's got great travel. Great backlighting. A poor touchpad but I use a Bluetooth mouse anyway. I enjoy it. But it's not perfect. I keep it real even if they sponsor me. I think the $350 model is pretty flawed so I'm happy to accept a flawed $150 model that's cheaper with coupons.
This tablet is a beast, been using it since just before launch date!!! It does everything you need and more. I have the keyboard cover as well and can't replicate the issue you were having when typing the "u" in "you" over and over. I'm wondering if you have a defective keyboard. I had a defective one for months as my keyboard would randomly disconnect. I went through three exchanges in order to get my problem resolved. It was quite the process but they allowed it and now I'm quite ecstatic. Thanks for the awesome video! Keep them coming!
I have to type it extremely quickly. In Google Docs especially. It never happens when I type slow. But if I fly through typing, like 100 wpm style, it always misses the u, or at least 75% of the time. I've had this issue with the Tab S9, S9 Plus, S8, S8 Ultra, and so on. Again if I slow down intentionally, no problems. Only when I'm speeding through. Either way, I'm happy you aren't having the issue, because without that, I'd be loving the keyboard cover a lot more! The Dexnor isn't perfect either, the touchpad is actually pretty bad on it. So I turn it off. That's why I mentioned that even in my sponsored segment, always have to keep it real. Happy you got it replaced though, and happy it's working well for you!
I'm newly subbed to your channel, and it's wonderful and very helpful. I'll be buying my S9 Ultra in a few weeks. I hope I can get a good deal. Thanks for all your info.
On a side note, I'm selling mine. In the next few days. You check check my twitter @digestandroid . But if you have to wait and look for a good deal, I'm sure there will be plenty. Good luck!
For sure! It probably will be. I sell things within 2 to 3 days, but you can always follow me for tech deals, I post them every few weeks depending on what I'm reviewing or doing. Mostly on X. But either way, appreciate the follow. And like I said in the video, sales are pretty fequent. Best Buy Open Box deals are terrific, especially if you want "excellent condition". As long as you buy open box BEFORE they take the display units off the shelves. When they make those open box, they often have screen burn. That's why it's a better time to buy now, before the S10 comes out. Anyway, appreciate the sub! More tablet content coming. Tab S9, A9+ updates, and then The Lenovo P12 and then some more Android phones
Does this phone have eSIM available? I love the looks and capabilities of this phone but how does this compare to the Samsung Galaxy A25 or A35, is it better value. My issue is Motorola's lack software updates and that to me is the deal breaker.
Yes it has esim. I'd argue the A35 is the best value, followed by the Moto G Stylus. I think it's better than the A25. I personally, due to the design, the pen, I like it more than the A35. But the A35 is a little bit of a better overall value.
I love the S9 Ultra! However due to scaling, the apple ipad pro 13, and also the s9+ actually shows the same amount of content as this despite being much smaller. The apple also is far brighter sustained and peak, and in terms of actual performance like editing 4k multi layers, I would trust the m4 or even m2 over it. S9 is awesome though, the sideloading, microSD, etc. :)
You can change the display size of items on your screen. I agree that the iPad is better. For sure, I'm Android to the core but I won't argue that. For those on the Apple side they have a definite treat. Here, I'm trying to explain who this is for: those who want that screen size, or those who want sideloading, microsd cards, a pen in the box, etc. The S9 Plus is the value play compared to the iPad for those reasons, and the Ultra is a little extra for more screen size if you want it. iPad is great this year! I love the competition.
@@AndroidDigest Ah with the max resolutions I think it still shows more due to the scaling, watched a ZoneofTech video showing it, to my astonishment there is such so much detail in aspect ratio, resolution, scalling, and zoom percentage combos. Anyhow, thanks for making the video as always!!
Nice review Have you tried to use the tab s9 as an external monitor with third party apps like superscreen or duet screen and if so, how is the experience when connected to PC/PS5 (I think both alllow 120hz) in terms of gaming or latency?
I haven't. It's great as a second screen when connected wirelessly. Wired in, I don't notice much latency if I wire up to a monitor. I think latency is fine wired in. But again, that's for monitor use. Haven't ever tried to use other apps to play ps5 through it. I'll be very curious to see if anyone else has had that experience. Would love to know how it works. Just haven't tested those things yet.
When I talk prices I'm talking about the base model typically, 64GB. It's on sale right now for $240. As predicted, the $329 is not the "normal price" because I'm seeing it on sale pretty much every day since launch. If you're referring to the A9+, and RAM, the A9+ has 8GB of memory in the 128GB version.
Great for students. I do have a video about Galaxy tablets and productivity, and I talk about college students there: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pMZ_4lmgjQE.html I would recommend this or the Tab S9 Plus though. This is the ultra beefy model, the S9 Plus is a little bit more portable, but still big enough.
Regarding battery, I get 7-10% drop per hour when video watching on 60 hz/adaptive (it should be the same with keyboard typing) and something like ~10-12% when multitasking on 120hz. No gaming tests, sorry. Overall great tab, love it.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. For me I drop a little more. I know some battery tests, on 150 nits of brightness, on those tests people were getting 9 to 10 hours. Practically I'm keeping my device on higher brightness. So I'm closer to 7 hours. But updates have made the battery life maybe a little better than those initial tests from websites. But I'm still around 6 to 10 hours. Normally 7 or 8 depending on what I do.
@@jackpre3399early or mid 2025. Probably early, Jan to March I'm guessing. I mean it's going to have a slightly better processor. Maybe a better anti reflective screen. I'm not expecting that much. Obviously it will be great though.
I got one of these back when it was released. I love it, I use it all the time. With the CITRIX app I can connect to my work computer and with the remote desktop feature I can connect to my desk top when away from home. This lets me play table top simulator while away from home with friends and family while on the road. Other than that it is just nice to be able to fit so much of a book on the screen. I love it and consider it a 5 star device, though I think the 9+ is a better size and when it is time to upgrade in a few years I will likely go with the + size.
Great review mate, cheers. You buy a paperlike screen protector, and you solve the reflective display. Also, the s-pen works better. I recommend it for everyone who owns this tablet.
YALL i am watching this on a samsung galaxy tab a9+ and have been using it for 7 HOURS... i feel like this device is my soulmate already and has taken advantage of love options. You need to get this forget that super expensive iPad that you'll be able to afford in 20 years Buy this instead I'm not joking!!!
I have owned the S9+ for about 2 months now and it is an incredible tablet. If you have the money, then definitely go for it. You won't find any better tablet in the Android space especially with that Wacom tech S pen. Just go for it and you won't regret it
Definitely a different world, flagship from years ago vs budget now. But I think you'll enjoy it still. If you ever want to go up, the FE often goes on sale around $350, and the Tab S9 is around $650 and has amoled. But enjoy it! It's a great value.
It’s roughly the same size as as a Dell XPS 14, which is not a very big laptop. Yes, it’s a huge tablet, but in perspective, it’s really not all that big.
@@AndroidDigest I'll check it out! I need this as a laptop replacement. The plus is more convenient for watching movies on flights, but is much less convenient for productive work. I don't plan on trying to type with it on a flight, if that's what everybody's up in arms about. I usually just veg out with video content, usually with my tablet in the drawing position so it's lying almost flat on the tray table, propped up a bit. That way I can clearly see it, and if the person in front of me reclines their chair it's no biggie.
Does this phone have ready for, that allows the phone to become a desktop similar to samsung dex through usb-c? does the phone work with two esims at the same time?
P11 Gen 2. BUT software support is a little lacking. I still think it's on 12L for example. They are so slow with updates. And they are starting to commit to more updates on newer tablets. So keep all that in mind.
