Easily fixed - you just need TWO top tier televisions side-by-side, each with a Q990D and it's own Frame. Man, I can't believe you let that one get by you ;)
This is so dumb 😂 why won’t these companies actually give us what we want? We just want a soundbar center that acts as a wireless hub for left & right fronts, subs, and left & right surrounds with 4 Atmos channels. I mean how hard can it be? 😭
Wireless implies wireless connection. So no need for all components to connect to an amplifier. But yes some speakers are truly wireless with a built in battery. Not these.
@@neverenoughtech And they in my opinion, are inconvenient as hell. Imagine having to take your speakers off of the wall or speaker stand, and plug them into some kind of charging system on any kind of regular basis. Would you call that a good thing?
Wrote NAD/Bluesound about this two years ago, and they said they were looking into it - alas, nothing has happened… Told them they should also make their bluesound modules in amps act as control for surround, so that your stereo would work with the bluesound speakers, nothing…
@@floydefisher “Wireless” means no speaker wires. You would not want to use batteries even if that was an option. Imagine how often you would need to charge the batteries and if u run out of batteries then u can’t even use your gear. It’s not a big deal plugging in the device to an outlet. Thanks
Well at least you saved everyone else the hassle and disappointment so for that I'm sure everyone is thankful! Sony also has their press release on Wednesday. Apparently there's a new system coming that's meant to surpass the HT-A9.
If you consider bass for music, EDM, techno etc.. Which is to prefer: Q990C/D or JBL Bar 1000/1300? (even had an eye on:: Polk Audio Magnifi Max AX SR // Hisense U5120GW // TCL 7.1.4 X937U )
Ha! This has been an entertaining video to say the least. Thanks for the clarification, as most of us techies would've more than likely assumed the same. Hopefully Samsung will implement this in the future, as it's odd to have all those placement options but only two devices at a time.
Yea Samsung told me this, i felt bad telling you that only one frame would work at a time. Not sure why u would want just one frame connected. 2 frames makes a lot more sense. I also thought Dolby Flex would be incorporated with these Frames.
Was really looking forward to your review on this! Regardless of Samsung’s fantastical support team, could you please review how the 2 music frames fair regarding the sound quality without the sound bar? Thank you for all the hard work anyway!
If I want to use 2 of these music frames as rear speakers, would they act like stereo speakers? Or will the output be identical? If so then makes sense just to use one as a rear center, like reviewer mentioned
You and me both brother. Just found out yesterday that only one music frame and Q990D or two music frame as rear if you lesser soundbars like Q800D. Hope they fix this add more options in future update
Seems like something they would support eventually - like expanding what the sides of the tv do … but I’m done speculating … never mind they will enable on 2025 hardware versions
I must say, I have the HW-Q950T soundbar, but occasionally still disconnect from the rears. And the soundbar had only like a couple of software update and then Samsung "left" the soundbar..hope this will be different with the 2024 soundbar..
Hey Daniel! This is a different question, I recently got the Bose 900 sound bar WITHOUT the sub nd the surrounds. I ran the adaptiq. . I turned it on and found out that doing so turns the base way down, although improving the overall sound. Even increasing the base to +70 when adaptiq is ON doesn't really gives the base that I was getting when adaptiq was turned off with just +30 on base. Ran the adaptiq 2-3 times. same result..it's a normal 200 sizet medium sized bedroom. Turning off adaptiq brings backs the base but detoriates the sound. I have read on reddit too that even with sub connected too and running adaptiq just quietens the system and base goes down. I am not a base head
The music frame is asich a cool concept, but agree that Samsung needs to have better access to the TV. I did purchase an open box Q990C and it has been nothing short of amazing. Dolby Atmos hits well and watch movies is fantastic. Don’t even get me started with gaming. I have a S89C that can take advantage of the Q Symphony feature.
@neverenoughtech I connected my Series X to the TV and it offers me the same options than in the case of HDMI eARC. I have an S95D and a Q990D. Do we have to do something in particular?
The EDID of the Samsung TVs does not advertise DTS formats, so it's not possible that a source sends DTS in this case, except that you alter the EDID. If you managed to make it work, it would be great if you could share what you did.

I'm planning on getting two music frames to put in Rear Left and Rear Right, and I was under the impression that while connected to the music frames, the speakers on the TV would also still play sound, but now I'm not so sure, is that still the case? (Basically, the audio to come out of two Music Frames as well as the TV at the same time)
Can the Soundbar be used with wired (eARC) connection and then the two Frames wirelessly? Not sure what's the benefit of connecting the Soundbar wirelessly to the TV, since it's right in front of it anyway.
Can you share your opinion on the frame set behind the couch? I have a similar set (s90c + q800c) and I only miss a back firing device to have 360 audio
Samsung Q990D vs Q990C (with some Music Frame on the side) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6-Uff-Zlkw8.html its a cool effect but the frame connection is a bit tenuous and you need to compromise your soundbar by going wireless as well
hi man, did you tried adding a music frame to your current soundbar and did not recommend it? Thanks! (currently have frame tv and s801b soundbar connected via earc, and looking for the music frame to use it as a rear speaker expecting to create a better surround sound)
Hi there. Music frame is "too new". Gd that you follow up with this video. Kudos! Quick check, can you play atmos music from tidal connect app on the Samsung TV u currently have using left n right Music Frame setup (meaning 2 sets of mudic frame) ? That's my intention of getting 2 for now. 😅
I think people get too freaked out about loss in precision when really much of the effect comes from EQing and DSP. Big rooms (with volume) can give the sound some life as well … Sonos is always a safe bet on the total package side with 300s … the HTA9 M1/M2 with SW5 would likely impress as well
Thanks for the update. I did receive 2 frames so far. The sound is better than expected from an object of its shape. It is a great minimalistic way to have good sound in a room that appears to not have speakers. It is not better than a soundbar but will be good for 95% of folks. But currently Samsung has dropped the ball. These could be way more functional and should include the option to wire the speakers to hook to a receiver as well. Seems like a cash grab but if all you wanted was a full frame setup, i guess that is the only thing they solved. Looks great with 2 music frames and a frame TV. Hope they add more functionality and improve customer service!
Samsung is so frustrating with these ridiculous design limitations🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️. Maybe its because of the bandwidth thing, but why can't they both be a wired connection?? You can use the soundbar with hdmi and frame with optical. I did buy 2 frames due to your last video to be honest to use as to front channels. However, i would've assumed the same thing you did. I purchased a QN900D and Q990D soundbar with 2 music frames. Only one frame pairs, of course. I was going to make a video about it but decided to wait a bit. Such a disappointment. Maybe a software update for the tv, soundbar or frames. We will see...
They can play DTS:X which is lossless but that doesn’t mean there is not some kind of loss. I think connection stability is a bigger liability. Yes I think bandwidth is an issue and I think they could alleviate the issue by letting the bar communicate via wire … I’m not sure how the music frames would connect with a wire and whether you would want that
Basically when I setup the music frame at the back their was actually a port for an optical wire to go in and connect to any source, in this case, my one connect box for the QN900D. So in the end It could be 1 hdmi wired soundbar, 1 wired music frame( as most TVs only have one optical port) , and 1 wireless music frame. If that works, it may even be possible for a 3rd music frame since the first two 2024 speakers are wired, and the other two 2024 speakers could be wireless. But again it is Samsung will see what they do, probably will make it an upgrade for the next music frame model.🙄
Only works through Q-symphony with 24 TVs - you can connect wirelessly like you would a 2022 soundbar … Q symphony is the only way you’re getting something like a left and right with the music frame
The frame speaker is actually more substantial than you might think - it was far heavier than I was thinking. Adding one in the back makes a difference - just not as exciting as the two up front
@@neverenoughtech Thanks. I'm going to connect my Series X to the TV and set everything to use wifi instead of hdmi and test. I believe that if the TV shows True HD, that is because it's lossless.
It is lossless, it shows true hd. The problem is that the music frame limits you to atmos over dd+ when using q-symphony. It's a no-go for me. This is on the official product website.

@gabrielgarciaforino7758 that can only be done through Q-Symphony, which is what I did. The cons are: only wifi is allowed, no hdmi from the TV to the soundbar. Your wireless network needs to be stable. I have everything running through wifi now.
