Samsung Phones Solution to Moisture Detected

I did a video earlier on the problem and here is the solutions to the Moisture detection error on Samsung phones. The moisture detected error has been seen in the Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8, Note 9, Note 10, Note 10 Plus and a lot of other Samsung phones. Here is how to fix it. Caveat - this is ONLY if your phone didn't actually get exposed to water and this is a phone error. I'm not responsible for any damage to your phone from trying these ideas
Solution 1.
Step 1 restart device
Step 2 while restarting when the phone is completely off plug it in
Step 3 notice that the phone is charging
WARNING: Only do this if you are 100% sure your phone didn't have water exposure. I am not responsible if you fry your phone.
Solution 2
Step 1 Go into Settings
Step 2 select apps
Step 3 Click the 3 lines in the top right and choose "show system apps"
Step 4 Choose Android System
Step 5 Force Stop
Solution 3
Charge the phone with a wireless charger

I've had this issue for months, tried this method multiple times and eventually the moisture warning will come back, I just spent the money and bought a fast charge wireless charger, thank god that is an option for these phones, really disappointed in samsung for there lack of resolve, at the end of the day these phones are not cheap! Especially if you've purchased as handset only and not on a contract as I did, thanks for the video I'm sure it will help many 👍

I went and spent 60 on a fast wireless charger yesterday. The only real solution for this ridiculous problem. A 1400 dollar phone shouldn't have these issues

Had this problem. Called Verizon and they told me they have never heard of this error and couldn't assist me. Thought that was funny considering the hundreds of thousands of views on videos of people all having this exact same issue... moisture detected alert when there was no moisture! The solutions worked, thank you! I have to try a combination of the two depending on what day it is, but using both has not failed me yet

This works for a while but for me it stopped working. I did the reset as you stated and plug in but the error comes back and phone does not charge. This was a short term fix for a long term problem. The only option for me at this point is to take the phone in for "repair" I might note that my fingerprint sensor also kicked the bucket in between. Really brings me to question quality on Samsungs products of late.
@SeanDIY
@SeanDIY 5 лет назад
I believe it's a software issue, because I heard the same has happened to some people with LG phones. I own a Verizon Wireless Zone retail store and haven't heard the fingerprint issue. Overall compared to iPhones, Samsung quality is outstanding.

This is the 5th phone in the past year we've had issues with. Funny enough, we live in a dry climate and the phones are never in the bathroom, near boiling pots/dishwasher and nothing's been spilled on them. I call BS on this moisture warning. My husband and I had to replace our phones initially due to charging port issues but they got the moisture warning when we tried to get them fixed. My husband's work phone has been replaced twice now due to this. They're all Samsungs. I am so thankful I found your video because the 2nd option worked! We're still going to go to the cell store this weekend and complain because it seems that this is a Samsung issue and they need to fix it.

@@TotallyMysterious If you bring it into the shower then it would be a legitimate water message. This fix is only if you know for sure you don't have any water in the port and the phone is telling you there is. If there is water, I'd respect that. I've repaired probably 70 of these phones. The correct way to do it is heat up the back panel with a hairdryer or heat gun on low until you can pry the back panel with a guitar pick, remove the lower and smallest circuit board - unplug the cables and it pops right out. Notice the red stickers or the red X's? It's gotten wet and now it's corroded. Apply spray on isopropyl alcohol over the board, brushing in all directions gently with a tooth brush, then give it another spray and go again. You can either let it dry by itself which wont take long, but Iuse my heat gun on low until the glue covering the "afterthought" components is a little runny. On the older ones i'd use my air soldering station and make sure they weren't dry connections. Works EVERY time. It's not software. It's damaged hardware telling hardware absolutely no information. Hope this helps someone!

Omg u just saved my phone's life,it was on 9% but this isn't the first time this has happened to me. Worked perfectly for my Samsung Tab A 10.1" also! Problem was the tablet was getting cold in my room, mid 60's, and then giving me that same moisture error, rather than high humidity. Go figure?! @@SeanDIY well the phone is a galaxy s5. I had it in my truck turned off and lots of dew in the mornings and the notification was there when I plugged it in to charge. I did have to drown it with isopropyl alcohol and use a hot air gun to 45 Celsius to get the moisture out. Now all is good.

The error and the sound are awful. I had it pop up for the first time after nearly 4 years of owning the phone. I worked on all the solutions-rice and all-for 2-3 hours. What partially worked is similar to step 2. Except that I saw two videos that guide you to apps, show system apps by enabling all apps, scroll down to USB settings, clear data and cache. It took two tries and finally that annoying pestersome sound went away. However, now the phone will only charge off the laptop. it had drained to 11 % during all this so I will wait all night for it to charge back up. I dare not touch it. and then I will try to see if I can get the fast charger to work again. if not, I am not sure why I didn't have a wireless charger already. I ordered one. I hope it works.

There are 2 moisture sensing diodes (?) in the phone, one near the charge port and another near the power button. My guess is that these things are defective and over sensitive on some phones and not others. I've had 2 of these phones and only one developed the problem. Neither were treated differently and I live in a humid climate. I think it's a hardware issue, not a software issue, since there are sensors involved. Too bad, this is a great phone (except I HATE the edge thing which serves no valid purpose except a bunch of unintentional presses) and I believe this was an overreaction to the Note6 which had an exploding battery issue. They probably want to mitigate future lawsuits by claiming the user was warned in the case of a fire.
@SeanDIY
@SeanDIY 4 года назад
Some great information. Thank you for sharing. The Nkte 7 was a battery issue not water. I did hear a few people with LG or Moto phones have this issue, so you must be on to something with the hardware sensor.

I've been watching a lot of "fix videos" these past 2 hours... and the "Force Stop Android System" helped ! Although it still said there was moisture or water ( witch there isnt !!!) : I clicked OK and it is charging ! But it probably won't fix forever ! !!! I noticed that your screen is broken : mine too : Would there be a common reason to all of this then ? Other than real moisture ? Broken moisture wire / sensor ?
@SeanDIY
@SeanDIY 5 лет назад
I wish I could find the commonality, but my hunch is damage to the charge port. I had it happen long before the screen crack. I had other people say a wet charging cable, but that's not possible at least for me because I get the issue regardless of what type C cord I use (car, work, home etc).
