The difference in the higher tier TVs is almost nothing. It's like picking a little spot here and there. Everyone gets so worried about their purchase, You really won't enjoy a movie more on an A95L than on an S89C etc, you would never know the difference. It's just in your head that something might be better out there. I have an A80J and A95K and I watch all movies on the A80J, because it's 77" and I don't even miss any differences, the size is >>>more important for movies, than a bit better PQ. Trust me, if you have a TV from the last few years, you aren't missing anything. Buy bigger or keep your TV. Put your money into the audio system, that has way more impact on immersion.
@@michael-4k4000 Yes, I own it. It looks great, but when I go up and watch my a80j, I don't miss anything with the picture. If they were right next to each other I might notice a difference. The size is what I always notice and makes a huge difference when watchings movies or shows.
It comes down to processing and motion and features once you choose between the higher end OLEDs. Yes that part does matter depending on what you prefer. The question also become price.
You grew so much as a reviewer. It's been a while since I last saw your videos, but it's easy to notice your knowledge improved and you're giving reasonable and balanced buying advice. Excellent work!
@@CDSparks I have mine hanging beautifully on the wall. I don’t I would call any OLED TV as robust. They are all fragile especially the LGs I have had…
Only you or Classy or the original video editor would know that there is a little bit more yellow/red in the QD-OLED, especially at that fast action part. Can you show a scene that we might actually be able to tell in real world situation without having to pause.
It is Also, LG already had the best processing, even over Sony. If you actually used it.. most TV purest don't use it though. So the G4 will hand best off both worlds As far as brightness... the C1 was already brought enough for watching movies. So that almost does not matter
@@kjell9745 nice... I went from a DLP 1080 tv to a C1 as a monitor, slash TV... then got the S95b the week it came out, when I was checking it out for my friend. I could not believe it. I lucked out with not getting any updates, because I don't hook displays up to the internet
@@fepethepenguin8287 processing is only with upscaling shit etc. i have the lg g3 77 inch. great tv. not worth to upgrade this year. i wait till 2025 or 2026 new blue pholed oled tv`s.
Hi Great Videos So It looks like the S95C is the best in terms of picture accuracy and has 1300 nits And the contrast and skin tone is Really good. What do you think of that Assessment???
Not sure how you weren't seeing the g3 losing shadow details compared to the s95c in multiple scenes. It's my biggest issue with LG. It sucks watching dark movies or scenes with. It's really bad.
watched another reviewer with the s90d where he put tv in movie mode with color booster on low and the picture looked just fantastic. Also looked great in gaming.
@@Seconds84 QTV, and if we forget about his Sony Hate, he seems legit when it comes to comparing Samsung models. The S90D seems like the real deal for budget conscious people this year...even beats the S95B and S95C.
Thank you for putting out these very detailed and helpful videos! Wish they were all the same screen size and all either calibrated or just out of the box in the best picture mode. When I saw them at Best Buy's Magnolia store and then again at Value Electronics and then at B & H Photo the Sony A95L looked better than the G3 and the S95D. I did not see the S90D or S90C and I know it's hard to tell we're looking at them over the Internet, but your descriptions did not match what I saw at the three stores I visited. I also saw LG's 86" QNED90T next to the 85" XR95L and Samsung's QN90D and LG's QNED90T and Sony's X95L were clearly the best of the 3 MiniLED TVs.
As the performance gap gets smaller and smaller between brands and models, I would choose based on what kind of user I am. I tend to put brands such as LG and Samsung in the consumer category, especially being that they make appliences for grooming, HVAC, kitchen, laundry, etc.. I tend to put Sony in the enthusiast/professional category, especially being that their primary focus is recording, mastering/remastering, distributing, and playing their own content--life to lens/microphone to screen/speakers. As a performing musician, I prefer as little modification as possible to the audio/video signal in the highest quality. If I could afford a large QD-OLED display, I personally would choose the Sony A95L because of the kind of user I am. Make any sense?
I suspect the s95c IS the S90D. It makes sense they’d use the same tv and rebrand it for the new year to keep scale of costs the same. Obviously the one connect box is different but they are basically identical.
Great comparison fomo , What we really need is a few hour comparison of the Mini led Samsung 8k QN900D ag 4k 240z in gaming vs the The QD oled S95D at 144hz , And to see if Samsungs best proccesor does it make the 8k image better than the 4k Qd oled .This would be something different than the typical oled vs oled , or oled vs the the typical best 4k mini led.
Have best buy coming tomorrow to hopefully sign off on a warranty replacement. Then I'll be getting either a g4 or s95d. I'm leaning g4 but I'm definitely not doing anything until you guys face these off. I'm hoping to hear that meta 2.0 makes such a huge difference with it's 1500 nits of color luminance that it closes the gap on oled vs qd oled. Samsung has a few things I really like, and I already have an LG so I'm familiar with how to calibrate it using the autocal for lg. It's probably going to come down to the matte screen and how it looks in a light controlled environment. Hdr10+ pc gaming/nvidia partnership, plus phillips hue app are big for me. But the lg is established at this point. I don't know
It's a pitty that there is no QD-OLED in 83 inch. That's why there is only one choice for me and that's the G4. Let's see how the G4 will perform. I am looking forward for your review and side by side comparison.
10000% Agree!!!! Samnsung dropped the ball on the 83". The trend is going to bigger screens Every year! Samsung needs a QD Oled 85" to dethrone the G4 83"
The TVs should be compared right out of the box, with no calibration. Not everyone gets their TV calibrated (as it costs). And what's the point of buying these high-end models if companies are not already calibrating them for picture accuracy. They charge a ton of money for these flagships!
hi man, very good video. I wanted to ask you if lg oled mla tec will come on 42" sizes next year, or if samsung qd oled will release also in 42" size. Could it happen or not?
How is the motion on the S90C and S90D compared to LG and Sony? The were reports of stutter / frame skipping on the S90C when it was first reviewed. Has that been resolved?
Im planning to buy a TV and really confused between the A80L and S95D . I know that one is a WOLED and other is QDOLED , but I definitely don't have the budget to buy a A95L . pls suggest among two, i generally watch a lot of movies and sports
please help. my s95b is boot looping after power cut. i have done all the unplug for a day plug back in. is the panel done or could i get away with a psu and logic board . samsung are no help. a year and 4 months old. only use about 3 hours a day.
Various articles are suggesting the 42/48/83 with WB-OLED, the 55/65/77 being QD-OLD, as those are the only sizes Samsung Electronics manufacture in QD-OLED. (the AU site - my region - lists the 55 and 65 as Quantum Dot OLED, the other sizes are not yet avaiable)
Calibrating a WOLED won’t make it equivalent to QDOLED. Calibration allows the tech to reach its peak, not necessarily making all TVs perfect. QD has a higher peak than WOLED.
Gotta say this, after watching QTV's comparison video, the S90D is more than a budget Option, it's a potential Giant killer, looks better and improved over the S95B and S95C in every way, plus it's Glossy instead matte finish. I may look between the S90D and G4 this year rather than the overpriced A95L, a 77" S90D for around 1800 € later this year may be too hard to pass up.
S90D is a premium priced TV itself (not TCL cheap but reasonably priced where OLED should be) and I do love that it's a touch brighter than the S90C - it continues to be a solid option HOWEVER it loses a little luster in that you can no longer access the service menu to truly unleash it to match the S95C.
@@stopthefomo You'd think by this point they'd focus more on delivering better motion clarity. Because lets get real here, Both QD-OLED & OLED's motion persistence, motion resolution & film judder all pale in comparison to a good plasma, like the Panasonic ST60. current OLED Black frame insertion only works at 60fps for video games, but unfortunately it drains too much brightness and there's no BFI that supports movies(24-30fps) either, plus OLED film judder continues to look 3x as choppy as a plasma. Noticeable motion blur, excess film judder and low motion resolution are the name of the game and i just can't stand it. :P But the reality is, most people on here are coming from LED TV's and have forgotten just how good plasma motion and especially CRT motion is. Gen Z didn't even grow up with CRT's, so they have no decent reference for just how good motion used to look. They were motion blur-free after all! ;)
I wished Samsung would have brought a QD Oled competitor for the G4 83" this year. 77" is getting too small, the growing trend is for 83" and larger!!! Come on Samsung give us an 85" or 87" QD Oled!!!!
Is it worth to trade my lg c1 for a samsung s90d? I mean, i know s90d has way more nits, and better colors and all. But will I see a huge difference? When i trade a 4k led tv for an oled it was huge difference. I realize its not the same impact, but is it worth to spend this money?
Can't see the color difference here on YT, at least not me. I am sure the QD had more of it. But is it really a deal breaker? Also would you even know if you only have a G3 what would be slightly more color when there is nothing else comparing to it side by side at home? The G3 can do some white highlights better. The G4 might increase the color volume just a tad, in the sense overall brighter and higher small specular highlights. I say it comes down to processing, features and so on between all these TVs. For me the G series with 5 year panel warranty is a huge thing. I'd save $1,500+ just on that here in Canada because no need for BB warranty for burn in. I really want to see in depth about the processing of the Alpha 11. So that means not always doing "Film maker mode" because FMM is all about not using processing so none of that is enabled. I want to see AI Director, Expression enhancer, the dynamic tone mapping with the sliders. I want to see the motion setting where it's dynamically changing based on scenes. But most guys on YT just do FMM and you never get to see any differences. No one ever shows the reason why XR clear is good.
Agree with you mate. Personally, I don't think it looks good with my LG G3. I'll wait for 2025 or 2026. Not worth upgrading my LG G3 77 inch for the LG G4. By the way, I had to pay 2249 euros to trade in my LG G3. I also really wonder if it has an A11 processor in it. We don't see it inside. Lots of marketing scams. c models simply get the a9 processors with some tweaking. g4 models therefore skip a year. so actually with the g4 you have a 2025 model. since they normally only upgrade by one generation of processor per year!
@@FeherViktor-zl8bm stop the fomo says wait till 2025 or 2026. New blue pholed oleds. Not worth the upgrade from lg g3. Only ai shit picture filters that i dont use. When to tonemapping, more detail means more deviation from EOTF. Sony prefers accuracy, hence why they roll off later and clip more. Others prefer slightly dimmer and/or inaccurate tracking. It doesn't necessarily mean one is better than the other, just FYI. Also, while Aquaman has some very bright and high APL scenes (the outdoor scenes), the scene you used is very low nit hence why G3 looked OK. In other scenes the G3 falls way short and washes out.

@@brucedaniels2497 I choose g3 and.. The TV is gorgeous. I love it. One o the most important reason why I choose g3 except 95c was the throttling on Samsung. For more than a year i asked one question which i didn't got any answer.. is all of them are just promoters .. my question is what is the best tv to play videos from hard drive?
#1-Samsung is the best option for streaming and video games. QD-OLED is the OLED tech, with the best color accuracy and color reproduction, it has more pop in HDR. DOLBY vision has a tendency to lower brightness and change accurate color reproduction in favor of filmmakers intent, thus Samsung shines outside of Filmmaker mode and can beat a Dolby Vision enabled TV. #2-SONY is the best option for watching Blu-ray movies and has superior processing. But their greedy, anti consumer pricing makes them lose mass appeal. They are considered to be overpriced by most of the community. If Sony lowered it's pricing, they would dominate the global market. #3-LG with the outdated WOLED tech has peaked. C3-C4 are dark and lack accurate colors and have banding/DSE. LG G3 is good but overpriced. Even with the MLA panel they just look flashy when white colors or direct sun is on screen, but washed out when ALL the other colors that exist in nature cannot be acurratly represented. G4 is great, the brightest in SDR and biggest OLED you can buy at 97". (QD OLED's are not available in sizes bigger than 77").
My take home? By the cheapest of each comparable size offering UNLESS like myself, I have a Sony STR receiver and you want the interaction between the devices. Since I didn’t see large differences, I’d save money, or go larger, with an A80L. I’m still gonna wait to see what Sony is going to offer this year since I’ve been waiting since 2011, 😂

thanks FOMO to tell the truth Sony A95l excel in image quality, upscaling when watching over-the-air broadcast and streaming low bit rate content, where Samsung S90C pales away extra money worth it , Samsung s90c few second good images then not that clear image annoying to watch when watching over the air broadcast and streaming low bit rate content, Also Sony has a separate tv button in remote, samsung mix atsc 3.0 tuner with atsc 1.0 and Samsung free tv program difficult to navigate remote. Sony A95l is my choice of TV, and it is worth the money. Twice the cost of Sony worth my time when watching clear images, even 240p content Sony a95l 77" I can watch as upscaled.

The g4 does not get brighter than the s95d. Stop with these myths. The s95d is a whole 200 nits brighter and a whopping 100 nits higher in full field brightness. LG lost the brightness war this year so they need influencers to make things up that aren’t real.
Set it to Filmmaker, take shadow detail to +1, Warm 2 color, tone mapping Static, Motion Judder 3, Motion Blur 8 and YOU'RE GOOD TO GO! Watch sports on Dynamic Mode for max brightness if you need it

@@trewright1482 A trash sung fan would say that lol you know deep down Sony is the best; Samsung focuses on colors and brightness over processing and upscaling just like Hisesne and Tcl both trash tvs no matter how bright they get lmfao
This video proves to me that the A95L at 77 inch is not worth the $5k price tag compared to these other 3 models. The reason someone would drop that much cash is they are either stupid or a FONY Fanboy
Lmao wrong. He said many times the Sony isn’t even calibrated and it’s the same if not better than the ones that are lol. Some y’all try so hard to manipulate not that serious
I hardly ever like these comparisons; a new tv with firmware not what it's supposed to be, opposite to it ones that have had the chance. Lmao tho Samsung getting blamed they're unreliable yet they've always fixed the (most important) issue by the end end of the year. To be clear, I love (the major brands) Sony TV'S but their firmware update policy.. isn't that great..
Surprisingly many people are buying the TVs now and want to know what they’re getting now compared to heavily discounted but firmware stable models. Good news is the S90D appears solid no different than S90C just too expensive currently
@@stopthefomo Agreed. And thanks for the video, much appreciated! I didn't say people shouldn't be informed. I just don't like these comparisons, like said. Unfortunately, it has become normal that after release it takes a while for the firmware to be optimized. Yes the S90D appears pretty solid yet, as an example, I know they can fix that black crush issue with a firmware update (new panel stabilization). I love that it's bout 20% brighter than last year's S90C fyi, new Tizen os is awesome & snappy.. and so on.. What I'm trying to say is that when the firmware on the S90D is stable/optimized it'll be a considerable improvement compared to last year's s90c. What's also a big improvement is that this gen. panel, which means it should last twice as long (on paper). And I could go on why the S90D's (should be) far better value than last year's S90C, especially at the end of the year.
Wake me up when there's a side by side of the incoming 83' G4 WITH MLA, vs. 77" S90D, Sony A95L 77". Hey Fomo, 65" is so 2020. Size and quality is what matters in tvs and in you know what.
