I just put a new seal on my machine and tried on a short wash and could smell burning rubber and after found shreds of the door have torn off likely on the area near where the drum spins. It's the right seal type for the machine I checked on 5sites and it was always appearing. Is this normal for a new seal and will some sort of lubricant in that area fix the problem??
Hey, there could be 2 reasons for the drum to rub against the seal. 1. The seal not installed properly 2. The drum shaft is damaged and causing the drum to wobble up and down and rub against the seal.
When you load your washer and not pushing all of the items all the way inside the washer, something is getting stuck between the inner door glass and the seal, when the drum start to spin the item is wrapped around the seal and eventually rips a small part of the seal. And at this point the washer will start to leak from the seal because it’s not completely sealed against the doors inner glass.
