Similar story to yours, same issue: My Z Fold 3 would not connect to wi-fi. This happened about 4 days ago, 5 days after the warantee expired. The phone was bought in Doha, Qatar. I'm visiting the Middle East from UK at the moment and took the phone to the Samsung shop in Dubai Mall. I was told that this was related to the screen and a new screen was required at a cost of about half the original cost of the phone and would take 3 days to repair. I started trolling the internet and found your post and realised that this seems to be a common problem. I am a staunch Samsung supporter having blacklisted Apple for various reasons. I have had to buy a new phone (I won't say what I bought). I suspect the problem with the Z Fold is a design issue and that it has been massively under-engineered. One technician described the inner screen as 'like tissue paper' and apparently the wifi facility is an integral part of this. The Z Fold 4 seemed to follow on very quickly from the 3 so I suspect Samsung may have know of this issue and launched the 4 as a fix. I'm sure they don't want another Note 7 debacle and have suggested to them that they recall the Z Fold 3 to fix the issue. Pretty sure they won't do this as safety issues are not involved as they were with the Note 7. Yesterday my Z Fold inner screen stopped working and I cannot open the phone with the outer screen as it does not allow me to draw my unlock shape. Asked a few technicians who said it could not be unlocked so I've lost some recent data although I managed to get most of my data from back ups. I would suggest that fold technology is still very flimsy and I would NOT recommend anyone buy a Fold.
I too have this phone and just had the same thing happen yesterday. I have already gone through the same exact steps that you went through to try to fix it. Unfortunately, none of them worked for me either. I agree that it is a great phone, when working, but that is not the case now. Watching your video gave me hope, but then I remained disappointed when I saw there was no solution given. Now, I am reading through the comments and see this has happened to many people. I think there was an update a few days ago and now I wonder if that was what caused the problem. All evidence does point to this being a Samsung problem. This is very frustrating.

This happened to me 2 days ago after upgrading to one UI 5.0 on Android version 13. was pretty frustrating and i managed to solve it by resetting the network and then power resetting the phone. Remember the sequence, the key is to power reset your phone after the network reset. Network reset by its own did not fix my problem

Unfortunately, wifi not turning on happened to my fold 4 under warranty. My phone, according to the notes on the repair, said, "replaced parts." They replaced the edges and possibly the battery as well. WiFi now works, and the phone feels like a new phone.
The same thing happened to my Galaxy Fold 3 after the latest update from yesterday. Nothing helps. It seems that someone did it on purpose, integrating it into the update, or it's just a shoddy product. What a disappointment! 2k down the drain.
Same issue on myZ fold 3, intact state, 10months of using it daily, had to take it for repair, the screen also broke for some reason so now they are replacing the inner screen and fixing the WIFI, just hope it can be fixed and no longer will break again, HAD never seen a phone having a WIF issue like this one!
I am facing 3 simultaneous problems with my fold 3. First the screen protector y having a bubble that increases day by day, the other is the spen, the left part of the screen has a small part that dont recognize the spen but reeds the fingers, and now this one with the wifi. I love the fold but all this issues are something that will make me not use samsung anymore.
I have the same problem too And i never dropped or mishandled my phone And im never going to pay to repair it since its Samsung fault not mine I think we all should take this to the court
Same problem here with my 2 years old Fold 3. No wifi and I can't use mobile hotspot 😢. It's a shame that I've spend 1600 euro device with no wifi, unless you have unlimited data, but still....

That simply means the connection (wires maybe) has deteriorated to the point that there’s no connection at all. This happened to me. Worked fine when phone closed, but after few weeks nothing worked anymore.
Same thing has happened to me with my Fold 3. Not sure when it happened, only notice the WiFi wasn't working today. The phone also has suddenly turned off a couple of times in the last two days when I've opened it into tablet mode; not sure if there is some connection. I love the phone and was considering upgrading to the latest Fold version, but not after seeing how common this fault is.
Facing the same problem right now. My phone also stopped recognizing usb mode but however charges fine, regular charging, fast charging and super fast charging
my wifi works when i dont unfold it but once i unfold, it's gone. Then i have to close it and restart it before it restarts it's self for it to work again
this happened to me 2 days ago. 100% hardware failure. not impressed with having to send the phone in for an extended time for fix/replacement considering they no longer offer loaners, but still love the phone itself...just can't wait until it's working again
Same situation here after one year with Z Fold 4 WIFI. Its not Working anymore, already tried to Update, Network Settings Reset, All Settings Reset, Factory Reset, etc... Do Not Recommend This Phone At All.
I have the same problem in Hong Kong after using it over 1 year. The setting-->About Phone-->WiFi Mac address is missing. I have Samsung Care for 2 years, and will visit Samsung repair center tomorrow. I hope they can fix it timely and without extra charge.
The same problem I have. Notice that so many ' folders ' have the same problem, but Samsung doesn't have an upgrade solution. Why do we use Samsung again?
Happened to me 2 months ago, every time it happened i had to reset network setting several times before it could work again. Then i noticed that if my ZFold3 is folded it would mostly work and it would not work if it's unfolded. Very frustrated with the issue. May need to send to Samsung soon.

Mine started with no volume, after that I can't pick up call or call as the speaker is out. Now WiFi issue. Don't know what's next. Never drop or near any water. This seems really a problem for fold and flip
I am having the same issues too.. 2 months after the warranty period ends.. I believe the consumers must know the risks of buying Z folds.. it will not last as long as a non foldable phone
same thing happened to me. tried formatting it and it did not help. Its probably a common issue with the wifi antenna since i see a lot of people having this issue
I have a fold 3 now for almost 2.5 years. Really like the phone but this past week since an update lost wifi connectivity and now today bluetooth when phone is open fully. Spent 3 hours on phone with Tmobile and samsung and nothing but bs. I was hoping to make it to the fold 6 with no major issues but forget that. Now I am very unsure wether to go with fold 6 or just use my 23ultra for daily use. The problem is you get used to the very large screen and cant downsize. Wish samsung would step it up already. This phone at the 1700 price point should not have these issues. Any one out there experience these issues and have any luck in a fix?
@@ttof80biz called samsung. Phone needs mother board and too costly to repair at over $500. Just upgraded to s24 ultra now . I am waiting to see what this fold 6 looks like this summer when launched. A bit skeptical though as you know new designs tend to have issues. Im also considering google pixel fold if I decide another foldable. Just overall disappointed with the fold. I was told that the fold 5 has the best track record of no big issues but its still over $1000 .
One morning same thing happeend to my Zfold 3. I contacted online help but could they were unable to help and suggested to go to service center. I visited service center and they checked the device and informed me that its hardware problem and whole LCD screen needs to be replaced as wifi receiver is integrated with LCD screen. The cost of replacement of LCD is Rs. 52000. I have never seen such àn issue in any other phone. This is a defect in Fold 3 and many of us are facing it. Samsung should recall this product and replace it with either repaired product or a new one. Many customers are facing this issue amd samsung is not taking any steps.
The same thing happened to my fold 3 just recently, i also tried network reset, but it doesn't help. I've been using samsung since the note 3 launched. I love it. But this is disappointing

Same thing happened to my z fold 3 right after the new updates which enabled Esim back in early June since then wifi and Hotspot stopped working. and I have watched this video couple of times and the updated video as well . Yesterday I came across a video In RU-vid that someone had turned his Samsung z fold 3 in to windows phone by installing these Launchers Win -x Launcher square home Launcher This last one i installed it my self wasn't in the video Win 11 Launcher After playing with it for couple of ours I got bored and wanted to go back with SAMSUNG UI But couldn't find my way out I tried to restart my phone a couple of times but no luck finally I uninstalled the square home Launcher And came back to the Samsung UI I suddenly Noticed the WIFI is On I couldn't believe my I eyes I turned it of and on again it was working and I switched the Hotspot on and it worked perfectly fine I have no idea what's really going on with these devices but finally my wifi and Hotspot started to work after 3 months
the same happened to my Fold 3, after 2 years and six months. The folding mechanism is not built for long term use. My other brick phones all still working fine (Note 5, note 9, tab 8, tab s6)
My wifi did the same yesterday, roughly a week after the latest update. Could be coincidence, but i have found a short term solution before sending it in for the dreaded service. Restarting the phone and using the front screen is the only way the wireless works for me. Unfortunately as soon as i unfold to use the main screen the phone reboots and wireless cuts. Only front screen usage doesn't cut wireless after restarting, so does this mean its software or still hardware? I mean i have used the wireless the whole day with no issues this way. Unacceptable problems for a phone of this price range as well as service from what everyone is saying. Im Australia based.
The same problem happened to me on the Samsung Galaxy Z-4 Fold; the wifi and bluetooth won't turn on shortly after my warranty expired. To me, the 1-year warranty is too short a period for a device that costs more than $1500. Does not seem worth spending the extra money.
I have an unlocked Z Fold3 with no problems. Is your phone locked to a carrier? I know that typically comes with software issues when carriers push updates.
So i know this video is old but after 16 months my zfold 4 wifi has also broken as well. Apparently one of thd cross hinge ribbon cables is to blame. Luckily care+ is replacing it free of charge.
So I kinda found a fix but it's not great. The issue at least for me happens when you fold your phone and while it's folded. I'm guessing something with the antenna. Reset your bluetooth and wifi setting and do a forced turn off on your phone (press volume and power button for 11 seconds or so) WHILE YOUR PHONE IS UNFLODED (OPEN). This will allow you to use both your wifi and bluetooth. Unfortunately once you fold your phone it all goes away and you would have to do the steps again. I called my carrier and getting a replacement tomorrow. Hope this helps
My Fold 3 Wifi just died today. And the cost of repair is 35% the price of the whole phone. And according to Samsung service center, wifi module is connected to the screen panel. 13/3/2023
I'm from Brazil, this also happened to me on 01.01.2023. For me, this had to do with this last update that Samsung practiced. Android 13 UI 5.0. Anyway, a cell phone that I bet, I also had the Fold 2, and now it simply died. I took it to technical assistance, they just said I had to change the main board R$ 3500.00. Price you can buy a normal 6.2" S21". However, in my view, Samsung should compensate its harmed consumers. Well, the error is obvious. Eu sou do Brasil, isto aconteceu também comigo dia 01.01.2023. Pra mim isso teve haver com esta última atualização que a Samsung praticou. Android 13 UI 5.0. Emfim, um celular que apostei, tive também o Fold 2, e que agora simplesmente morreu. Levei na assistência técnica, só falaram que tinha que trocar a placa principal R$ 3500,00. Valor que dá pra comprar um S21 normal de 6,2". Porém, ao meu ver, a Samsung deveria ressarcir seus consumidores prejudicados. Pois é evidente o erro.
Same here, exactly same problem - but in addition to change the board they also said the internal screen need to be changed. The estimate for the repair was the outlandish value of R$ 9.000,00 (1700 usd) - which is ridiculous. Very frustrated with Samsung right now. Always was very careful with the phone - not a single drop - looks brand new. Everything happened after the Jan/23 update.
+TheDigitalDigest Have you tried maintenance it through Smart Switch? Or even Samsung Members? I know Samsung Members does a maintenance check in that app.
Samsung Zfold 3 is a very low end production in Vietnam. I bought it after 3 days, the paint coating peal off and Samsung do not want to change a New Set to me. Now I facing a same issue as you. WIFI BROKEN! Totally cannot turn on the WIFI.
This exact same thing happened to my ZFold3, ive had it almost exactly 2 years, wifi won't turn on even after factory reset. Also had some pixels die after 1.5 years, this phone is very expensive, I loved it, not sure I want to spend that much money to buy a new one even though I love this phone
I am from the Philippines. I experienced this too. I went to the Service Center, upon checking they advised me that if after the repair the phone will not turn on, then it will be the risk I have to take because if it will not turn on, then it will not turn on. And they advised me that if that happens, they can replace that hardware inside the phone, but it will cost me, and it's not cheap, I will be paying a lot. I sent an email to the CEO of Samsung Philippines, and they advised me again to visit the other service center to have it checked again. I did not visit yet. But hopefully, they can sort this problem out. I am frustrated because not only it's the first time I have a samsung phone, but it's also an expensive phone. And by the way, none whatsoever did I see any post on a recovering from this issue on wifi in Z fold 3.
Ahh after paying so much for this phone which is an awesome phone. I will not pay so much to fix the wifi. I also will not buy another Samsung product.

I was watching this video yesterday because the exact same thing happened to my phone. I called Samsung support and they remotely logged into the phone and confirmed it was not working and asked me to ship it away to be repaired. I was about to do a factory reset which so happens to require wifi. I did not know this and I had already moved the Sim card to a replacement phone. So I looked up how to do factory reset without wifi and the instructions I received was to shut off the phone, then press and hold the power and up volume button simultaneously. This worked and brought up a different interface and one of the options I saw, in addition to factory reset, was "repair apps" . I figured I would give it a try and it worked. The phone restarted and my wifi was working immediately. Thought I would share my experience in case this happens to someone else.
Yeah it broke again for me. My tip worked one time and a week later the wifi stopped working. I have since called Samsung, it was shipped off to be fixed and that took 5 days. I got my phone back like new. They didn't just replace the broken component inside, they replaced the screen protector, polished the outside and applied the protection stickers that come with a new phone. Overall it worked out.
Same problem. Verizon tried everything to no avail. They transferred me to Samsung. Samsung has told me that it's a glich in my last software update and that the next update will automatically correct this problem. I have to wait for the update to roll in, who knows when. I will keep you posted!
Yes my Bluetooth connects but no sound when I have it open. It intermittently stops the sound when it's closed. Update was installed recently wonder if it's that.
It just happened to me on my Fold 4 yesterday. 😢😢😢 I have the phone for a year plus now, changed the hinge issue that blacked out the folding screen 6 months ago and now this?!?! Went to Samsung Care and was told that I need to pay $720 to change the damn hardware?! @samsung what is this???

As one of the owners, I'm facing similar issues. Not to say only that but also spen not detected on some part of the inner screen. This foldable phone is not as durable as u think. Just dont waste your money on buying this type of phone.
I just got this problem 2 days again and been searching for solution, any updates from your side ? I also noted that restarting the phone would get the wifi back on sometimes but then after a while it would die off again
i am facing the same problem with my fold 3. Again the large inner screen stated freezing but 2 days ago it turned dark. The speakers stopped working. Right now i am managing the smaller outer screen since i do not have money to buy a new phone. I am also using a wireless headphone to answer my calls. This phone is making my go mad especially as i cannot even afford a new phone as at now and i do not even know when i will be able to afford another phone
Ok sadly I also got to experience this now on my Samsung ZFold3. I reached out to the support team and their advise was to reset network...which had zero effect on both open and folded positions (not that it should be different, but from the comments below it seems to be?) That said, my phone was working perfectly fine until yesterday where it did an auto-update (without the prompt as usual). It shut down and restarted and voila my wifi and hotspot is no longer working! Reading the comments below there is clearly an issue here. Just like other users my phone is in a case, no physical damage, and this happening 'by itself'. So why should we as users that already paid $000's dish out more money to pay for this, and most likely buy another (not Samsung) product? In my view it would be good if someone could post a FB, Instagram, LI post or something where all with this issue could comment and try and put Samsung under some pressure to make an official statement here. As consumers we should not be footing the bill for a multi-BN$ company that messed up here. I have an s21 ultra with the same issue, wifi and Bluetooth will shut off and not want to turn back on. Toggling airplane mode on and off would temporarily fix it.
The same thing happened with my phone... immediately after an update. Now I have lodged a complaint @ Samsung India...I hope they should be able to sort it out.

See ehn! This is really annoying. But why was there no prior information? I had know Samsung for stuffs like this with their product so I stopped purchasing anything Samsung. But then I saw the Folds and loved it hoping they have stopped this device failure pattern, now my FOLD 3 & 4 has crashed and the cost to fix is almost to purchase a new one. Well, No more Samsung
Two years later and my fold 4 has wifi issues.. Tmo insurance is sending me a replacement tomorrow 🙄🙄no more folds for me and this was my first one too I thought it was so cool but seems like this is common from other fold owners

Turn off your phone Connect your phone to the PC via USB Wait until the message shows your phone is being charged Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Power key. Continue to hold both keys until Android Recovery menu options appear Press the volume down key and navigate to Wipe cache partition Press Power key to select Press the Volume down key to highlight Yes, then press the Power key to select When the process is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted Press the Power key to restart the device
My Z Fold 3 Wifi stopped working when updated to One UI 5.1.1 when I opened to big screen, it rebooted and now no WiFi. Did you report this issue to Samsung Members?
This happened to my z fold 3 and my brothers z fold 4 in the same week after an update. We sent the 3 to Samsung and they told us we need a new operating system installed for 1300+. So this is a software issue. I just dont now how to install a new OS.
Happened to me just now! A month ago it was the speaker when unfolding it the speaker gets off but fold it halfway it will turn on. As I've found out the ribbon cable gets broken. Will not buy the zfold anymore!
hi my only solution is that, I brought to samsung service near my place. Samsung said, They change the whole inner LCD panel good thing I purchased Samsung care. In my case its a FOC. Thank you@@musabarab8669
