Samuel West is one of the best actors I've ever had the pleasure of watching and one of my all-time favourites, and the instant I heard he'd been cast as Siegfried I was sold. And he still managed to surpass even my wildest expectations.

Never thought another actor could fill the shoes of Robert Hardy as Segfreid but but Sam West has done more than that ..he owns the part

The whole cast is brilliant and especially Samuel West really owns his role and it´s a pleasure to watch the series! I hope there will be many more series of this truly masterpiece. And my hat´s of to the animal handlers and of course all the lovely animals who does their part with ease and style.

Samuel does an amazing job of playing Segfreid. Robert Hardy was amazing as well and I didn't think any actor could fill is shoes but Samual has done such a great job.

I don't think there could be a more perfectly made piece of television. Every actor is perfect in their roles. If they ever do another Sherlock Holmes series, he'd be an excellent Dr. Watson.
