Samurai Shodown's Yo Sample and Where It Came From 

The sample also appeared in the Clear Cut Challenge mini game in Pokemon Stadium 2

I always wondered where this sound sample came from, and it is fantastic to finally find out its origin.

It was used in Samurai Goroh's theme from F-Zero GX for gamecube.

Not sure if it's been covered in a previous video, but another oddly familiar tune from Ganbare Goemon 2 is the BGM for the "Samurai Woods" stage, which sounds a whole heck of a lot like the song "Higher Ground", specifically the version by the Red Hot Chili Peppers replicating its more in-your-face bassline.

This is one of the most iconic (and universally used) samples and it's sort of funny that I could hear the sample by just reading the title of the video hahaha One other place where you can hear it is in Jago's theme "Do it Now!", from the OG Killer Instinct. I never noticed the sample whenever I played “The Simpsons” all those years ago. The first game I heard it in was in “Robo Aleste” near the end of the track that plays on the title screen and in Stages 1 and 10.

On your Oddly Familiar video, could you do a part where the "Mermaid Falls" theme from "Shantae: Half-Genie Hero" sounds similar to both the "Lava Reef Zone Act 2" theme from "Sonic & Knuckles" and the "In The Name of Bern" theme from "Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade"?

I checked for you by the way since you might have forgotten - the C64 and DOS versions of The Simpsons arcade game don't have the YOOOOOOOOOO.

Ain’t no way y’all missed “Do it now” (Jago’s Theme) from Killer Instinct/Killer Cut. That’s the first song that introduced me to the sound.

That sound and cicadas are distinctively Japanese! Well as far as video games and Anime.

I highly recommend checking out jump by van halen and the arena war theme from gta 5 because they sound similar

I found a song that I thought sounded familiar the other day, not sure if you’ve covered it or not but castlevania’s wandering ghosts intro sounds a lot like dio’s overlove

I feel like I’ve heard this sample many more places. Another comment already mentioned Jago’s theme on the Killer Instinct “Killer Cuts” CD. I keep thinking I’ve heard it somewhere in the Tekken or Streets of Rage series but can’t put my finger on exactly where. I think it’s also been in movies and TV shows but that’s a whole different can of worms.

This sample, or at least one like it, was in basically every episode of the 2k3 Ninja Turtles that had Shredder. He's be going on about something or whatever and in the background it's playing. Edit: Come to think of it, it was also in the first Game Boy Advance adaptation of it, during the final boss battle. Further: Also in Civilization 3?

The yoooooo I remember mainly from the Simpsons arcade game which I never understood a lot of the enemies were never in the show

Not sure if it's the exact sample but there is a japanese yoooo in Dead or Alive 2 soundtrack. Tengu-mai i think it is on the ost.
