Historical Imagawa Yoshimoto is actually known to be a skilled warrior and general. Interestingly, the sword that Yoshimoto is holding is a Samonji sword which would later become Nobunaga own personal sword after defeating him in Okehazama which later Hideyoshi would possessed after the Honnoji incident and later would hand it to Ieyasu as a gift. The sword is currently a National Treasure in Japan.
@@neroatlas9121 he wasn't confident in his military skills, true. But he was considered as a mighty daimyo and a good diplomat until his defeat in okehazama and was a well-respected figure. It's not like he was respected only because he's the nephew of sessai taigen. More importantly, he wasn't that goofy buffoon which the samurai warriors games show. Seriously, people should stop blindly believing in whatever games and anime show us.
So basically Yoshimoto goes from being portrayed as a bumbling buffoon who is so afraid of swords he flinches at the sight of his own. To what is probably the most accurate portrayal of him I have seen in since Nioh 2?
Yoshimoto was portrayed as an useless beta male in every franchise that took place in Sengoku period. It's actualy refresh to see him as a warrior for once
