I was born in 90. I don’t like Chicano because people just think I’m mexican. Now I say I’m ingenious first people and mixed with European

A lot of Hispanics and Latino don’t even know they are indigenous.

@@abrahanrodriguez9003 Some, but not these days, especially with DNA kits coming in cheaper than phone bill. These DNA kits, part of real SCIENTIFIC WORK, are revealing a DEEPER identity than the so-called "professoriate" that regurgitate worn out theories from the Vietnam War era.... Like we get it already. Can we move onto something INSTRUCTIVE now? But your point is well taken Abrahan: Mexican/MexicanAmericans/Tejanos/etc are discovering that they are disproportionately INDIGENOUS peoples of THIS CONTINENT. Our ancestors been here for 30,000 years at this point and you wanna call our people ILLEGAL?!?! WTF!?!?

Ok, we get it. Encouraging a group of people to self segregate themselves and not be a part of a new beginning in a new land that is the USA. My father immigrated from Mexico when he was 14 years old and learned English and became a US citizen back in the 1960s. He raised our family as US Americans a knew his new life had no room for being labeled as a “Chicano.” He’s proud to be a US citizen in his 80s. Remember, big corporations and government want to label you to grab your money in taxes and spending habits…and to keep you in your place with hand outs and welfare.

Does he know that most Mexicans are indigenous people or mix of indigenous and Spanish?

Not all mexicans have indigenous ancestry but the vast majority do, our people aren't latino, hispanic, we are Indian, native, indigenous and our people have been around longer than the the idea of the USA, the government that only benefits from our continual labor and consumption of cheap environmentally unsafe products and does everything to silence our people, and keep up in poverty and shackled to this giant reservation called the USA

I HATE that term. Que "chicano" ni que vergas! I recently met a Mexican guy from CDMX and he called he said that term to me, kind of asking me by saying "Chicano?" if that's how I identified myself. I checked him with the quickness. I told him I didn't like that term because I associate it with left wingism. If the people in the southwest had just kept it to trying to improve their situation and kept communists out of their movement, maybe I could wrap my head around it. I am a dual citizen of both Mexico and the USA, therefore I am Mexican-American. A la verga!
