Art Institute of California - San Diego announced Thursday it may shut down in 24 hours, forcing students to transfer elsewhere. And some students say it has been a longtime coming.
So first of all no we didn't stop enrolling students in July, we literally got a couple like last month. So that's a lie. And Argosy and Dream Center learned about this in JANUARY of this year, We weren't notifyed about it until last Thursday, students and faculty. We all got email at the same time. That guy was a student worker not actual staff. Yeah it sucks major balls that this and other campuses fell before most of us could graduate and I do feel for the international students who were effected and I hope they transfer well but maybe go talk to actual staff about this shit instead of rightfully angry students? Idk just a thought (I ain't staff either but I actually like to find out shit before blaming all my problems on the wrong person)
Also like if you rely so heavily on having a degree instead of honing your skills than maybe you weren't gonna make it in your field anyway? A degree will only take you so far if your work is garbage. Just saying
I concur to a degree, I was an attending student and troubles were downplayed so much these last couple of months. Last Thursday (March 1st) we were all notified that the school would shut down its financial aid due to the denial from the federal Gov't. They basically said this would be one of our last quarters but it that they would go and appeal to get it changed. Then on the 6th (wed) we were notified that the school would be closed effective the 8th (fri). All of the faculty received the same thing as well as the students. So the main faculty bodies knew little more than us. Which forced them to grade all our stuff in a day. Honestly it sucks so much, but it isn't the end for us. I have skills to make it in the industry. Will it be tough? Hell yes. Will I have to start below the bottom? Yeah. But nothing is stopping me from building a portfolio and network. This school gave me skill. I am grateful for at least that
Hi, I'm Alvin. I am sorry to hear that the Art Institute in San Diego has closed. For Hospitality and Culinary students, Alliant University offers a BSBA and an MBA with Concentrations in Hospitality Management together with Vatel has put in place a transfer plan that could help you finish your degree. Do send me a message.
