The San Diego Unified School District on Tuesday will vote on to lay off hundreds of its employees during its next school year. This is due to a $94 million budget gap.
The Hybrid Teaching Model used by California schools during the shutdown was largely effective according to the Governor's office and Department of Education. Fewer teachers can teach more students, using technology like Zoom and other platforms. Students would still come into school twice a week, and they certainly are adept at using computers. School districts throughout the state made this work in the past and can make it work now.
