San Francisco Drug Addiction & Homelessness
shop.mrcolionn...
"It's startling how much degeneracy and homelessness and open drug use exist in what is supposed to be a shining beacon of a city... Overwhelmingly, I just could not help but get this feeling that there's a lot of enabling going on."
Liberal policies in San Francisco have created a parasitic population of vagrants who thrive off the system, which, in turn, fills the pocket books and bolsters the power of the elites living within the city.

Not quite 5m, but in the ballpark. Live in Oakland hills and in Bay last 30 years. This place is a serious fucking cesspool. The bay is so disconnected now, I mean like everywhere else. I work at a Jail in central California. All governments either intentionally or unintentionally enable drug addiction. Almost everyone I medically screen uses meth (or Ritalin), opioids (synthetic prescription drugs), benzodiazepines(Xanax) , or heroin (more direct opiate). Sometimes, they might even drink enough alcohol to require CIWA, even more rarely some use MDMA, or even PCP. THC is common, but not really a charge, just kind of a drunk tank thing, a lot of people drive to a park and smoke in their car. Usually they abuse multiple drugs, sometimes intentionally, however many cannot verify the drugs they are taking, as such, usually test positive for 2-4, pregnant girls arrested are usually the worst, testing positive for almost everything in my area, a couple of STDs, sometimes a UTI or bladder infection, or worse, pyelonephritis and possibly permanent kidney damage. Given a choice and resources to accomplish that choice (a program that provides a job, food and housing if they can stay drug free), none have done it. They get their first pay check and disappear into a downward spiral until they get arrested again, dehydrated, malnourished, half-dead, and we detox and nourish them again. They get exactly what they want.

Most of these people need some serious mental health help before they will ever see change but I'm sure you already know and see that first hand. It's a cycle of repetition.
@steelshepherd6843
@steelshepherd6843 5 лет назад
@@jonnymac8925 Yes, however medical care and mental health are both reduced to being nothing more than a band-aid when the patient refuses to address that they have a role in being the cause. Many develop permanent medical [Heart (cardiomyopathy), liver (Cirrhosis, Hep C from needles), and kidney (Renal hypertension, glomerulus damage)] issues and drug induced psychosis, some very few even reduced to nothing more than uttering incoherent sentences and are no longer able to feed, clothe, bathe or care for themselves and become wards of the state. It is frustrating not being able to help them change long term, it seems so simple from the outside to just stop, but of course it is not.
@jonkR96
@jonkR96 5 лет назад
Danial Huls It’s a societal change that needs to take place, from the ground up. We can’t fix the problem by starting at the top, we need a complete reversal of mentality, to morals, values and ethics. Unfortunately that thinking has passed and will likely not come back anytime soon. Oh... We’ve become “more tolerant”, don’t ya know? We’re more tolerant of deviant behavior, suppression of different ideals and violence towards those that don’t share those ideals. We’ve regressed essentially, not progressed. 🤦‍♂️ Stay safe brother. Watch ya six, always.

**AT **4:13** IN THE VIDEO YOU SAID THIS** "Is the cost of living being artificially inflated" YES. Part of the problem is people who are willing to own and operate rentals - and by the way, there's a MASSIVE shortage of apartments, and due to LOW SUPPLY and HIGH DEMAND naturally the price goes up -- -- part of the problem is people who are willing to own and operate rentals can do that anywhere in the country, really. Anywhere. I studied this, "how could there be such a shortage of rentals with such high demand, why isn't the market fixing this?" because after graduating from college there it was nearly impossible to get a place. Well, they enacted Rent Control in 1979 -- that's 40 years ago - and people who invest in rentals started staying away after that. Because of the fact that any new construction, also, could be put under rent control at the drop of a judge's gavel - see the movement to do just that, "repeal Prop 10, repeal Costa Hawkins!" Well the rental properties are not cheap. And it takes a smart person to save up the money to buy one. So when they say "I can invest in rentals here or some place where rent control is not a threat" Over the past 40 years, a shortage of apartments developed as potential landlords decided to own and operate ELSEWHERE. THAT'S WHY APARTMENTS ARE SO EXPENSIVE. Not enough of them. In studying this problem I found this. And this was from the year 2011. It's gotta be much worse now. I got out of that state because it just seems that the leadership is kinda dumb. mjperry.blogspot.com/2011/05/because-of-rent-control-sf-has-31000.html . . .

Hello, colion. I live in long beach ca where there is a large population of homeless people. Thank you for doing the videos you have done on homelessness, people need to be aware of what's going on. I would like to give you some thoughts if i may...some of the biggest and most expensive cities in which to live...Seattle...Los Angeles...Hawaii...san francisco....places with out of control rent, have some of the absolute highest populations of homeless people. 30-40 years ago, there was only one kind of homeless, now there are two..the regular homeless that you see and the invisible homeless you don't see...people who have jobs and work but live out of storage units and their cars because they just can't afford the rent in those cities. I believe there is a direct correlation between the high rent and a good chunk of the homelessness. All it takes is one or two missed paychecks,one lost job,one bad event to go from having a home to not having one,and because rent is so out of control,if you suffer a loss its hard to recover in time...just my thoughts

I live in the South Bay (San Jose) The actual Silicon Valley. Last year I started driving ride share fill time. My back career prior was Medical, an Management leadership. I knew we had a problem in the Bay area with homeless, but until doing ride share i had no idea how big the "PROBLEM WAS." Yes San Francisco has it front an center do to its world wide destination stature. But the Bay area as a whole has more homeless than the rest of the state combined. We have more drug users and just crimes committed by transient homeless than any other crime statistic demography. in San Jose they do not even bother to have given portable or temporary bathrooms to the homeless camps. There was just in the past month City meetings about using city owned property (at the time of the meeting was already being used bu homeless as a camp for over 60 people) to have a formal legal encampment for the homeless. At this meeting the people of nearby neighborhoods came to this meeting an made threats to the city council to sue the city and or take up action to remove the homeless "from there neighborhood". This area of town is known as Willow Glen, it is a prominent upper class and one of the central elite areas of the South bay Silicon Valley. At the meeting there was people yelling "put them on the East Side". these Elite in the By area are the first to form none profits, go to the media an say something needs to be done, but they don't want them any place near there neighborhoods. they East bay only one City actively seems to do anything anything to help. they have created a program that buys "Tough Sheds" an places them on city owned property under a section of freeway. they then vet out an choose people who are eligible to live in one. They vet them and have rules, you can not be on drugs, you must enter a program that either helps you find work in your known trade or will re train you to find work, once working they help them find permanent housing. This site has bathrooms, showers, a office trailer with computers an services. there is full time 24/7 security and police patrol. only one problem the site an the number of participants do nit even add up to a register able % of the homeless in just Oakland. While just 15 or 25 Min Ride on the 101, or 280 Freeway south of San Francisco you have cities like Palo Alto (home of Stanford Medical Hospital and the University) Atherton (know as the highest $ zip code in the nation) also know as wall city simply because over 90% of its Neighborhoods are be hide walls, Menlo Park (The Head quarters of Facebook), and Mountain View (Headquarters of Google) are all passing laws that will make being homeless on the streets in those cities illegal. in most of these areas they have a large amount of people who actually work have jobs (multiple Jobs) but can not afford housing. So thy purchase RV's. Well they park them an live in them. these cities in some cases have out law the parking of any kind of RV in the city limits. While other have passed laws to limit the areas an time a RV can be in one location. These people are frequently harassed by local neighborhood organisation, an law enforcement is used as a tool to get them out of there areas an cities. They tow an impound these as well as place wheel locks an fine these people. with that they make them completely homeless. The Bay area as a whole is this center of the Liberal heart, an it has the highest concentration of wealth and tech in the world. But it is hear you see the Elite true creation of a upper and lower class plan, the have and the have not. there use of political narrative to create greater wealth for there none profits and government. while further dividing them from the others!

People like to pick on Detroit but you don't see this crap in Detroit! Detroit is slowly rebuilding. It's people are strong and proud! I don't see any pride there.Theres money being made off of these people, that's what democrats do, they want you in poverty, they want you to be dependent. To cite and old adage. Give a man a fish and you'll feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish you feed him for life.

This was amazing. I live in sf and I'm a veteran from the east coast. The word around town is other cities in the bay area bus their homeless to the tenderloin to take advantage of San Francisco homeless resources. They drop them off in the tenderloin in the middle of the night

Colin Noir you're right. I live in Santa Monica in LA. and we have a homeless Meth junkie problem rivaling San Francisco's. I also agree that homelessness is politicized. Proof: I live 2 blocks from the beach and our (greedy) City Council is building 7 (?!) homeless shelters within blocks of one another. There goes the neighborhood FOR REAL!

And I also would like to add the constant stream of traffic stop ticket money the local city gets. They invest heavily in a police force to gather money from ordinary citizens while they ignore thieving and killing. We specifically jail and incarcerate the poor and when they get out keep them from getting jobs so they keep the cycle of crimes going so they can justify the huge police force (money gathering force)

YES! The biggest thing you cannot do with a drug addict is ENABLE. Anyone with a drug addict in their family has experienced this. If you enable, they never stop. I think the people in charge of these policies know this very well.
@redpool5324

As a Drug Addict in Recovery...I can legit cosign on this. The reason why enabling is bad...is because it's harder for people to hit "Rock Bottom" when they are being held up by someone. When I decided to try to clean myself up, I separated myself from everyone because I wanted to do it by myself. I'm glad I wasn't in Cali...I would probably be dead.

I live in San Francisco and the city spent more than 2 million in a push to put homeless people on Social Security SSI. Many are addicts and alcoholics who diagnosed with a variety of ailments due to their substance abuse. After being granted more than a thousand a month for a single person in federal and state disability benefits and $75 a month in EBT (formally food stamps) plus housing assistance, many still refuse to pay rent, are homeless, and shoot meth, heroin and smoke meth and crack while camping out in front of businesses and residential buildings.

Wow. amazing video, especially the interview with Mr. Dell Seymour. I lived in SF in 1997-1999 and I cannot believe how much worse it has gotten. The parks were always filled with a some people living in the bushes, and it was kinda scary walking through the Tenderloin. This video was so informative - the change is unbelievable, it used to be an exciting and beautiful place to visit. I bet a lot of tourist $$ is going somewhere else. I have zero desire to ever go there again. I hope there is a change - your video is a strong message.

Dallas DA just announced he wouldn’t prosecute theft under $750. That is going to devastate civil society in Dallas. A mom n’ pop shop has a very thin profit margin. If they have just two $750 thefts per month that’s the wage of an employee. They will go under because they have no recourse and no protection.

I grew up in San Francisco, moved there in 1974 as a child, the city was great... The decay starter slow, but has grown like the most predatory cancer imaginable. Rampant corruption at all City levels and do-nothing PR programs guised as support for the less fortunate. I finally left in 2000 and moved up North a wee bit. I wouldn't NEVER go back, there is NOT enough money in any reserve that would make me live in such a beautiful city being swallowed alive by squalor and bad management.

In the past few years several of my clients have relocated from that area and across California area to Texas. Their horror stories are sickening. Any time they made a few dollars some democrat would find some new and creative way to take it with taxes, fees or payoffs. They all went from at best breaking even to not only becoming profitable but able to expand. One joked, "Will the last manufacturer to flee California remember to turn out the light."

Sacramento is getting similar. The other day I actually saw someone begging from a street median dressed like a robber. It was insane to think about really. He had a hoodie on, sunglasses and a scarf over his mouth with one hand in his pocket. I sat in the car looking at him wondering if he actually gets regular money from people thinking he might have a gun in his pocket while they are stuck at a red light. The tolerance of this behavior is insanely irresponsible.
