Sand & Sage Wyoming Elk Hunt 

Nice Bull. I have hunted that unit 3 times over the years. Once for elk and twice for antelope. I really enjoyed your hunt and it brought back many fond memories. The First time I was there, the sage was chewed to the ground. The sage and grass look so much better now. Thanks for sharing.

"Coveted hunt areas," ever since Eastman's(?) did a special on this area. Used to be Wyoming's greatest secret in elk hunting. I've hunted this area for the past 38 years The first 12 years it was easy to get a tag. Nowadays it's a bit harder. As my family is meat hunters, we get tags more frequently (this year my wife and I both got one). Got my cow last Saturday and butchered her this Saturday. Saw the most magnificent bull I've ever seen in that area this year...a 6x6 with a rack that was wide, tall, and thick (most bulls in this area have spindly racks) and was fending off three other bulls trying to horn in on his harem. I took one of his cows. You need to brush up on your cow calls to get those bulls to stop in their tracks.

Wondering if bypod legs are longer than muzzle. Why carry both bypod and trypod
