Slow cooked sandhill crane thighs are quite delicious!

This recipe has received a resounding 4 thumbs up from the Strix Kids (my 2 little girls). They are very, very picky eaters so if they like it; you KNOW it's good! This is a very simple recipe for sandhill crane thighs and legs using creme of mushroom or poblano soup and a slow cooker. Served over rice with some extra gravy; this is absolutely fantastic and I think would make most cajuns proud although I'm not a cajun myself.
With waterfowl season over for this year, I'll turn my attention to turkey hunting next, preparing for the next elk/deer archery season and of course cooking up all that wonderful wild game that we have in the freezer so join me on this channel to share, learn and enjoy!

Ok is there a trick to remove all those long sharp and hard leg ligament before cooking? After cooking? This is why most people do not bother removing Cranes’s legs and I found nowhere on RU-vid a trick to remove them and in fact nobody wants to talk about them, like if they didn’t exist. Thanks for letting us know by making another video about it or by just answering my questions.m

I've never had sandhill crane before, but plan to hunt them this year. Will def be trying the breast and thighs as well.

It's good stuff. Cook the breast meat like a good steak and slow cook method is great for the thighs. The drumstick part does have a LOT of tendons/bones so it may not be worth keeping unless you're willing to pick those out.
