SANDII + THE SUNSETZ - DREAMS OF IMMIGRANTS-RAZZMATAZZ-1982 

高校の時、ジャパンの前座で観ました。かっこよかった！！サンディーの美貌と歌唱力、ダンスも華麗で凄い。ボウイが惚れたのも分かる。観れてラッキーでした

The lead guitar player, Ken-chan, was my roommate from 1979~1983j. Fun times! Sandii had a great voice, an instrument in itself. I had the great privilege to fill-in as a roadie on one of their Japan tours (Tokyo->Osaka->Kyoto->Kanazawa)...pretty sure it was end of 1981 or 82. During that tour, my fondest memory is walking down a street in Osaka after consuming a few beverages, and the whole band - myself included - were singing "Mac the Knife"! Ah, the memories!!! btw, Sandii is one of the sweetest people you could ever meet, now a hula instructor in Tokyo.

I’m actually one of the kids in the audience. I went with my class from school. It was filmed at the old Tyne Tees studios on City Road where they later also filmed The Tube. Its since been demolished sadly. We were all so excited to be on tv

I never realised at the time what a magnificent voice Kubota had. Truly beautiful

I've still got my treasured copy of the Immigrants album signed by all the band and especially signed by Sandii. Me and about 8 others were the only ones that turned up when they play Sheffield so we had her all to ourselves ;-)

@markkeogh18--yes, Sylvian worked on the album with them, wrote songs and music and even played on the "Immigrant" album. They also opened for Japan on one of their tours.

I saw these guys a couple of times in the 80's in Collingwood. They were wonderful.

Saw these guys at Hammersmith Odeon in the 80s they were supporting Japan (David Sylvian)……….

A great single from a really good album. I thought that we would have heard more from the band but I suppose the record company though there wasn't enough sales over here.

One of my fave songs by them ❤ Also Sandii does sound very similar to Kate Bush.

Enjoyed this video very much. Sandii has a fine voice (I was just listening to the band's version of Jimmy Mack) and her appearance here, with the Lionheart style crimped hair, is quite Kate Bush like. A great mix of Euro-pop with distinct Japanese influences. Thank you for sharing.

They recorded a song of bill's called 'Walk away' on an album called 'Viva LaVa Liva 1980-83' and I think he plays on that track as well.If you go to 'Bill Nelson Riverside interview BBC 2 1983' on my channel you will find a link to the song under the video,I think its the fifth link down.Hope this helps.
