I make these videos on a large screen Mac, and I know exactly what you're saying. Phones and tablets are great, but its nothing like the immersive experience of the music and pictures on a large screen 🥰 I think because so many watch the show on small screens, they might miss much of the interplay between these two characters. They're both amazing actors, and they are already saying so much with glances and especially with their eyes and smiles. I have no doubt they're falling in love ❤️

Yes that look as if hes thinking "shes the most beautiful thing in the world and hope I can win her/be with her, and she could heal all my hurt and maybe do that for her"...Also i like how when he first gets to the party and immediately scans the crowd as if looking for her, like shes the only one he cares is there, then when spots her, smiles? :) Also when they are talking at the end and he takes his hat off, its almost like he feels/can be more informal/relaxed around her, takes a breath then speaks more candidly of himself? Dont know if these are right but was so cute and can see he really likes her 🥰😉❤

I agree with that assessment. I’ve never seen him take a drink either, and I would imagine if he had been abused by an alcoholic father, as I suspect he was, that would be the last thing on his mind. ❤️

@@marymesesan7139 I've thought of that too! The fact that he referred to it as "hiding places" makes me think he did a lot of hiding as a child.

I think him and his brother were hiding from abusive father and governess who he told Charlotte met independence of spirit with a leather belt.

Thank you for that very good connection! Definitely Artemis vibes. She was also known as "goddess of the animals" which I assume includes horses and dogs 🥰 Not to mention that Artemis and Cupid were often portrayed together in pieces of art. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ We may need to get Cupid on the job for BOTH Charlotte and Alexander. Yes♥️! All the blues and coral/rust colors we see has a very Birth of Venus (Sandro Botticelli) feel to it. In that painting the lady (if she is the representation of summer) on the right has a dress of cornflowers, and the neck part of her dress looks similar to the myrtle leaves (symbolic there too) pattern inside Charlotte’s bonnet. From the costumes to the interior wall paints. Such a beautiful season!! 🌊♥️🌊

I don’t believe it’s a red herring, and I love how they’re showing us Lennox’s true colors. We can see that Colbourne is the better man, even if Charlotte isn’t certain yet. That’s such good storytelling ❤️

I wouldn't even know how to begin to make these videos, but I must say that when I can no longer, through PBS Passport, watch Sanditon, I will have all these videos bookmarked in my computer in perpetuity. My daughter was devastated when Sidney died, thought he was the perfect brooding Jane Austen man, but the minute I set eyes on Xander, I was in love. I told her that Sidney never truly cherished Charlotte, may have been 'his best self when he was with her,' but Xander did cherish her and you could absolutely see it as we moved toward the end of season 3. There is a lot of “borrowing” from other storylines in this series, but they do it so well. The stern-faced recluse in need of a governess to care for children that appear to have been dropped into his life - who even rides a black horse - reminds me of Jane Eyre. But they make it their own 🥰

@@susanfirth9883 I love Jane Eyre, the book and all of the many filmed versions - they all have their merits. Jane Eyre has been a gift to romantic drama storytelling for well over a hundred years.

@@susanfirth9883 yes and the Cyrano de Bergerac lose interpretation with the officers and Charlotte’s sister . I do prefer Charlottes two love interest from season one but season two is growing on me.

@@susanfirth9883 I agree about Charlotte Bronte's "Jane Eyre"! I believe there is also a hint of her sister Emily's "Wuthering Heights" there as well, with the ghost of Lucy Colbourne haunting Alexander's thoughts (and especially after he reveals to Charlotte how she died).

They are very definitely painting Lennox as a bad boy 😬 I just love Charlotte too much to wish that life on her. He’s already said very clearly that he’s going to pick up and leave Sanditon, and I just see Charlotte as the kind of person who wants a family and to raise children with a father. And that’s all beyond the fact that Lennox is not paying his debts and is preying on Tom’s addiction. Imagine Charlotte‘s life being left to try and justify that behavior once he’s gone.

Oooooh controversial Nancy. I know what you mean about bad boys, but he's a little more than that I think. He is shown as dishonest (with Tom) and cruel, whispering that thing to Colbourne at the end of the archery contest. I am not sure he plans to march out of town Susan. Remember Tom wanted him to buy that land to set up a barracks. Tom is going to owe him money. I think he'll take the land off Tom to settle his debt.

Yeah, Lennox is up to something with the gambling and, Tom is too blinded by the money Lennox can “bring” he’s not seeing the warning signs
