Of course they’d never have to do dating profiles in real life; they’re both gorgeous (Ben has a long time girlfriend of 8 years) and women must flock around them.

First, as to Mr. Colbourne, he is not yet a man. He strikes me as an in-betweener. From his baby-face to adolescent wavering, he does not know himself fully yet. On the contrary, Colonel Lennex is a man, battle-scared, insightful, and a strategist who does not wallow or waste time in his indulgencies. Colbourne reminds me of the old saying, "A man without a plan isn't a man." Secondly, Mr. Colborne kisses Charlotte like an adolescent; he literary jumps on Charlotte and has to hold her head near to him so he doesn't lose her. These are the actions of a male who really doesn't know what he is doing. Colonel Lennex is perhaps just as inexperienced as Colbourne, and he really doesn't have a clue either. He reverts to his default move: order others and conquer. So, does Charlotte want to go out with a mixed-up child-man suffering from adolescent angst? Or does she want to be ordered and conquered by Colonel Lennox? My opinion is she would choose the Colonel for only one date just to investigate. But for marriage, a resounding NO! Aside from being married to his career, Charlotte does not need or even want a father figure. So, Mr. Colbourne would be the one for marriage. Charlotte likes children far better than a controlling jailer.
