I think Papa Meat is just trying to divert attention away from the fact that he is the big guy himself

Papa meats backgrounds are so professional that i can't stand other youtuber backgrounds anymore.

My grandfather played a mall Santa for over a decade. He had the perfect Santa-look: big white beard, big red nose and cheeks, and a big gut. It also helped that he was an actor/extra in many big budget films. He ended up doing a ton of stock Santa photos that I still see pop up in various media to this day.

As an Austrian the Krampus tradition is still strong. I remember being a kid in Vienna and my granddad dressed up as Nikolaus at the 6th of December. But before he came in an gave us presents we heard the rattling of chains at our door, making us believe that the Krampus was standing right in front of our flat because we were naughty. Maybe that's were my anxiety disorder started Haha

I like how the kids with the normal Santa’s are crying but the kids with the absolute nightmare Santa’s are laughing and smiling.

Going to see Santa growing up was fun and a little scary. I’m grateful for the memories and it’s sad to see a dying tradition.

Have kids and the holidays become fun again. I’m on my second year as a father and this year was a blast just watching her experience all the lights and the holiday traditions. Kids renew all of the wonder a lot of people are missing in their lives. They can be a pain but that is a small blip to all the awesome moments they give you.

Its always nice to sit on papas lap and hear him rant.

As a German I can say, the Krampus is absolutely terrifying. Every year the Krampus comes from house to house and drag the children out off their bedrooms and scare the living shit out of them by putting them into a big bag and screaming at them💀merry Christmas🎄

Also the one where he saves 3 children that were pickled by a cannibal, which led to his association with protecting children.

My favorite is Discworld's fictional interpretation where it was a paleolithic ice age boar that early man worshipped as a harbinger of heat giving dawn. As man developed the sensation of warmth became associated with love empathy and good will the god morphed with these perceptions into the Hog Father. A porcine humanoid minor deity that brings the midwinter dawns through the giving of gifts. Each gift representing the heat of morning dawn so children and future generations don't die of cold before spring. Equally wholesome and metal at the same time

In the Netherlands we also celebrated santa clause, but its really different. He also has a beard and red hat, but it looks different. And it has also been told he’d put you in his sack and take you back to spain, to be one of his ‘elves’ if you were naughty, and hit you with his wand

my grandpa would tell us the hungarian version of krampus where essentially if I was bad on Christmas, I would be kidnapped in the middle of the night and be forced to work in the mines of hell harvesting coal for naughty children.

The art school student described is my sister, What's really sad is we basically cant go to our extended families Christmas get togethers anymore because of her(I'm sure you can guess why)

When I was a kid outside of the presents, my favorite thing about Christmas was this holiday themed "California Raisins" claymation special they used to air in the 80's. We used to watch it every year on Christmas Eve after my Mom recorded it. Funny enough the tape also had that Rudolph special, Frosty the Snowman, and Prancer. It also had a few episodes of Teddy Ruxspin, some Michael Jackson music videos, and the original Gremlins movie. Was an awesome tape full of 4 1/2 hours worth of shows and 3 hours of commercials

The "in poverty you find out Santa isnt real ALOT sooner" hits hard but in a good way. Even the years we had almost no gifts were still great holidays and i definitely feel like im less materialistic for it. Certainly less than some of my friends who were better off

Mall Santas are still going strong! I do photography for the local mall each Christmas season when Santa photos roll around.

I'm from Iceland and we do the Yule lads during Christmas as well as Santa. And when I was a really young child my mom who is half Swiss told me of Krampus. My childhood Christmases were horrific yet magical 😅

There was a magical moment, I wish I could have screen recorded it. At 15:33 RU-vid interrupted this meat session with two adds. The last one was for Taylor Swift’s cult tour. Right when it ended it cut to 15:34 of papa looking down laughing, like he was laughing at the add. It was perfectly timed. You would have had to been there for it.

I went to the same Mall that you're talking about at 9:55 ; you mentioned it, and then I remembered you were from the KC area, and a flood of memories of those memorizing air balloons came back to me. I can't remember exactly which mall it was, but I do remember it taking a long, painful decline until it was essentially a liminal space that was still open to the public. I'm sure the other people from the area that are watching this video also feel the same way; your references to our area (ect, Liberty MO, my home town), add a whole new layer to your videos! I could imagine that whole period of inventing the concept of toys being made by elves; someone was trying to pitch the concept of them being made by dwarves or gnomes (you know from those Tolkien books) and when it finally went to the higher ups someone who didn't know mystical creatures was like, "they're made by elves, like in the those Tolkien books".

I've recently started working very long night shifts doing highway closures for road resurfacing which means I'm away from home alot during the week and it's been difficult adjusting, being away from my Mrs and little boy who's 2 for so long during the weeks been real tough. I've binged so much of your content on this channel though, which I've only really just found although I've watched all of your canyon stuff. I found this to be very interesting, just to see the origins of we're he came from. Although my family and I don't really celebrate Christmas, instead we celebrate the Winter Solstice, and instead of Santa, we have the Solstice Wizard, which is basically a replacement for Santa that my dad thought up, and is heavily based of Thomas Nast's visual of Santa. But still neat to learn a little more of old Saint Nicholas, as well as Krampus.

To be honest I'm not in a big holidays these days but I do try to just be happy but it's hard when u are homeless and u don't really have people to go to...but I did enjoy the holidays growing up and I do wish going back those days... And unfortunately my mom told me how Santa was not real when we were fighting so there was a deeper cut of that wound... I grew up believing Santa a little too much... 😅 Mom finally told me around 14? But yeah I love Santa and that stuff... But I don't feel joy of it but I try to give joy for others earlier I gave someone pizza stuff like that... There is actually such a massive amouunt of nordic and Scandinavian folklore more associated than even you went into, the elves stem from the yule lads, the sleigh and raindeer come from the nordic winter hunt . The while white beard with gifts also has a lot to do a lot with Odin in said hunt
