Song: Santa Baby first recorded in 1953 originally was so popular that she was asked to sink/make a sequel follow up version which in 1954 came out as "This Year's Santa Baby" but not as popular. Santa Baby was written for Ms. Kitt in mind to sing from the beginning with her sexy style and charm. In 1963 she recorded a quicker tempo version of this song and calls the car an outerspace convertible instead of a Cadillac and of course light blue :) THIS song became a classic holiday standard played on the radio and store speakers for over fifty years. Since then many many artists have covered this song including Women impersonating Marilyn Monroe whom never ever covered this song but that became a Christmas myth that she did. Impersonator singer Cynthia Basinet and a Suzie __? also posted on youtube singing this song as Monroe but it had always been Ms.Kitt that made it iconic and popular enough for her, in her older age, to have been invited to the White House Christmas Party to sing this song outdoors in the cold wind wearing a mink dress with a log long slit up one side showing of her still gorgeous dancer's legs and sang this song to Santa Clause :) GW Bush Christmas party THEN two years after that Presidential XTmas party she sadly passed away on XTmas 2008. I remember crying, what timing! as if we needed XTmas to remember her by? ALL the radio and TV stations played this song repeatedly with each news update and top of the hour broadcast until well after midnight.
