I always root so hard for this guy. I worked as an usher for the CR Kernels in 2002. The rotation included Johan(now Ervin) and a guy named Joe Torres, a first round pick. It only took seeing 2 starts from each to realize which one actually had what it took to make it to the show.

Somewhat understandable since the Angels had been a win-now team for almost a decade and spent a ton of money that time trying to duplicate their '02 title so no fan wants to see their team start over after years without having won another pennant. I've seen the same thing as a Yankee fan, but the youth movement has worked out well in that case as well.

Actually, the bottom of the ninth wouldn’t have happened (the Indians wouldn’t have needed it), and you need to pitch nine innings for it to officially count as a no hitter. If he only got one run of support though, it could’ve gone into extras, and if you lose a no hitter in extra innings then it still counts

2017 was arguably his best season too. Surprisingly, his fastball was up to 96-97 mph and has been his 3 years in Minnesota while in this game he's topping out at 94-95 mph, albeit throughout the 9th inning. I don't know if that's from the steroids, but even considering that, it's unusual to see a guy throwing harder in his mid 30's than he did in his late 20's and nice to see a guy any age throwing 5 complete games in this era, 3 of them shutouts.
