Does anyone know what makes this toy dance? I have one that used to dance but no longer does and for the life of me i cant figure out what makes it dance. I was hoping to fix it for my nephew.. 🤔
Same toy, different version. If you open the Owl up and discover the circuit board does not have same contact points seen in the video, how do you adapt if? Specifically if the array of solder point that should read S4 and S1-8 are not there. I did discover that the Owls with '2021.11.18 date on the yellow PCB and 2021.12.18 date on the white PCB are missing that ability to make this simple adaption. For those Owls, you will need to go to the front side of the white PCB, temporarily remove the silicone switch and surface solder one wire to the lower side of PCB board. The other wire will be soldered, also on the front of the PCB, to the solder point marked GND Unfortunately, I cannot add a photo to the comments so hope this is clear enough to accomplish an adaption.
So i have this problem and I messed up. I used the ground as you did, and I used the S4 under the silicon that you took out the beginning of the movie. And it’s not working. I probably used the wrong points?
@@SannePost-jr6hu Does your Owl have that row of solder points as seen at 6:54 in this video? If so, then those are the best soldering points. As seen in the video, these Printed Circuit Boards (PCB's) will be dated 2022. If that row of connections is not on your board, which is the case in a revision the factory made, then, as you mention, soldering for one side of your switch needs to take place under the silicone pad. These PCB's are dated 2021. There are two zigzags under that pad, one is from ground, and the other goes to the CPU to complete the circuit. You may have accidently soldered to the ground. If so, then the switch will not be completing the circuit. To figure which of the zigzags under the pad to solder to, make sure the Owl is turned on and use a jumper wire. Touch one end on the ground, the other on one side or the other of the zigzag. Once you determine which side activates the toy, you are set to solder to it, and test the adaptive switch function.
