On day two in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan, in the morning, we had a wonderful breakfast buffet at our hotel, JR Tower Hotel Nikko.
The hotel was around $200 a night, for a high floor room with a stunning view of Sapporo. The hotel breakfast buffet was around $20-something bucks USD each. It also had s stunning view.

Mid-morning, we went to a candy factory called Shiroikoibito Park. It was like roaming through a sweet mythical fairyland. Admission is around $5-$10 for two (including a free little chocolate). It was interedting to see the chocolate factory at work. The grounds were filled with lovely gardens and the rooms in tje misuem were so charmingly decorated. There are also candy shops and cafes with sweets and famous Sapporo ice cream. I found the prices modest.

In the mid-afternoon, we took a quick free tour of the Sapporo beer musuem. There was a lovely beer souvenir store with one-of-a-kind gifts.

But best was going across the street to the beer garden restaurant. You can drink beer that’s only available in Sapporo and some of it tastes lile wine or champagne. The restaurant is also famous for its lamb and normally I don’t like the gamey taste of lamb BUT this lamb was so good I couldn’t tell it apart from the beef. We also ordered wagyu beef and that just melted in the mouth with a mouthgaic flavor.
It was also a reasonable proce for around $50 for two, which also included a wonderful homemade creamcheese appetizer and an also wonderful homemade vanilla ice cream.

There’s another charming beer-inspired cafe nearby and in a short walking distance a big mall, it was nuce but I’ve been to even better.
