These don't look like tombs to me they look like containers for some sort of precious liquid and the lids were massive to keep the liquid secure or prevent evaporation.

It's worth reading Marriets papers translated by the Ancient presence guys. He found loads of evidence that they were tombs, included remains of mummified bulls and how the sarcophagi were moved. Most of the evidence is now in the Louvre.

Pretty sure those containers were intended for radioactive waste or something to be sealed and not to be messed with; A Geiger counter would have helped, don't go there again. Anyways, I would stay away from that place and not visit...looks like a completely dead zone, where not even an insect would live... would not go there on a tour. Not all the places in Egypt are cool and 'good energy' Saqqara as part of the initial industrial complex looks like a dumping ground, that's why later was associated with cult of dead animals...
