Sarah Boone is Claiming Self-Defense in Boyfriend’s Suitcase Murder Trial

In a hearing Thursday, Sarah Boone’s new attorneys said the Florida woman plans to claim self-defense at her boyfriend’s murder trial in October. “We’re using battered spouse syndrome for the defense,” attorney James Owens told the judge. Boone is accused of zipping her boyfriend, Jorge Torres Jr., inside a suitcase and leaving him there to die. Video recovered from the night of the crime shows Torres screaming for help while Boone laughed. Boone claimed she fell asleep and forgot he was inside the suitcase.

Florida woman Sarah Boone is accused of killing her boyfriend after she allegedly zipped him up inside a suitcase and left him to die. Jorge Torres Jr. suffocated to death inside Boone’s Winter Park home. Boone claims they were playing hide-and-seek, she forgot he was inside the suitcase, and she fell asleep. Video evidence from the night of Torres Jr.’s death shows the victim inside the suitcase yelling for help while Boone records the video and laughs. Boone called 911 the next day saying her boyfriend was dead. She was arrested for second-degree murder.

She zipped him up in a suitcase, during a happy, puzzle and painting night, in a peculiar game of hide and seek, and refused to let him out, as he begged to be let out because he couldn't breathe - all caught on her phone. Then she went upstairs, leaving him in the suitcase, and says she fell asleep - a drunken sleep - until the next morning after he had suffocated. She told the investigators it was a mistake/ accident. And this altruistic attorney seriously thinks a battered wife defence is viable. She was under absolutely no imminent danger. Her victim was. He perished. He was a battered partner! If this defence is attempted, what a travesty of justice! This "knight-in-shining-armor" attorney should do this defendant and tax payers a favor and negotiate the best plea deal possible for his client.

I’m glad defense is going for self-defense. Because NO ONE watching the death video, will believe that. She was laughing, giggling, taunting him. She showed no fear at any time. I think Owen’s brought on co-counsel so that they could keep Sarah busy at the defense table rather than letting he keep annoying Owens. Maybe they have her doing puzzles or painting, while Owens is working the case.

No BSS ruling is the only correct one. Borderline w narcissistic traits. Needs to be told, you are an inmate, you don't get makeup artist on demand. She had every opportunity to make Jorge stay away. Even had him taken off the lease. He was sleeping in a tent in the apartment property, until she decided to let him come back again. He would go to his parents, and she would go over there to pick him up. He didn't have a phone, so she couldn't control what he was doing. She was a cop caller for revenge. She was mad she got arrested, and had to abide by the no contact order. You don't get drunk, call the police on your abuser, and then beg them not arrest him. She also stated in interrogation, she was waiting for Jorge to come upstairs to be intimate with her.
