Stunningly beautiful interpretation and performance. The way she sustains the A at 3:20 just before the cadence is a prime example of the brilliance of this performance
Agree with all, that this is indeed the most beautiful rendition of Meditation From Thais. Since hearing it in Reader's Digest's compilation of "Music for You" (1968) by Eric Robinson, i have heard of nothing close, until this. Bravo. Brought back wonderful childhood memories. Thank You Sarah and the Orchestra.
I too have heard many versions of this piece being played. Sarah's interpretation of this masterpiece is sublime, touches my soul. Her phrasing and timing executes such control not only of her musicality and skill of the violin but her ability to hold the audience in the palm of her hands.
Bajkowe wykonanie!
That last note, though. I am such a big fan of Sarah Chang. I've listened to dozens of violinists, but Sarah is the only only who can invoke tears from me.
Best Meditation. Others try to emote on every note, but they can't hold it together. Here, Sarah presents this singular vision of the music in perfection. The orchestra and audience are with her too. It doesn't hurt that her stage presence is second to none. Just wow.
Here is another (also by a Korean woman, of course!) that is also amazing (though of course very different): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nlMcEJgn25A.html
Simply stunning- from the bottom of my heart deepest thanks to Sarah Chang and all the musicians throughout time who have endured hardships and challenges to bring us - humanity- this gift of music. I could not be more inspired and grateful.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PROFESSIONAL VIOLINIST AND A GIFTED INTERPRETER OF ANOTHER'S MUSICAL CREATION IS THE ABILITY OF THE PERFORMER TO INTUIT AND EXECUTE THE EMOTIONAL INTENTION OF THE MUSIC. THIS VIOLINIST HAS EMOTIONAL INSIGHT INTO THE COMPOSITION.
Sarah Chang, es una hermosa mujer, llena de gracias, con una hermosa sonrisa. Toca con una seguridad y maestria, digna de admiracion. Desde Chile Doctor Sonrisal
I'm always surprised and delighted to see the range of motion this performance brings to people. I have heard people say, 'Joy! Tears! Tears of Joy!' so often--and it seems to vary with the performer as well. Miss Sarah seems to approach the music from the idea of joy, while Miss Sophie (at least when I saw her do it) evoked such sorrow. Both are beautifully done. Bravo!
I went to a concert in Hong Kong some 10 or 12 yrs ago. I met Sarah back stage. she asked what is my name? I said M......She then said it was easy because her brother has the same name. she autographed her CD for me.
Sublime! Quelle interprétation! quelle délicatesse! La magie musicale s'opère, avec des sons ...magie, subtilité, force , douceur, émotion...Une pure merveille! MERCI Sarah Chang!
