Sarah Zink, what Gem. Thank you for your share. We're on the same plane....when I get there I look forward to embracing a new chapter in my life. Thank you both....Sarah and Jackie!
a very excellent conversation . I've always wanted to live without a Car , so this was very helpful info . The tipping thing is hilarious and so true . Thanks for a great chat .
Thanks, Jackie & Sarah. Very informative and entertaining Saturday session. I’ve been here on Saturdays for a few years and this is my favorite. Sarah, you are precious. Very down to earth. If anybody has any qualms about changing their life for the better, you two have gave them tons of answer and reasons to do it. I’ve been dreaming of living in a different land and culture for forty years but was to chicken to do it. Don’t make my mistake. I am now 81 and feel life has passed me by. Go for it. I am sure you will have no regrets. Remember, we only live once. Tim B.
Tim, Thank you for your kind words! I wish you every happiness, and - believe me - several people have moved here in their late 70's and early 80's. It's rarely too late. Big hugs to you, my friend.
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the interview. It's not too late! You should at least come to Panama for 180 days as a tourist (no visa needed) to experience life in Panama. Others in their 70s and 80s move to or vacation in Panama.
Are there video tours of places that are specifically that? Or more the videos interviews that show the areas? I would be very interested in some video tours to pin down where I might visit first. TY
WE have town tours of Volcan, David and the beach are near there, Penonome, Clayton (near Panama City) and Cerro Azul. We'll have more places/town videos coming soon.
Jackie, do you have interviews with snowbirds? I've looked through your videos & have not seen any obvious snowbird interviews. I'm really interested to learn how they manage things like prescriptions, banking, homes, etc at each residence.
we have several interviews with snowbirds panamarelocationtours.com/snowbirds-in-panama panamarelocationtours.com/good-advice-about-living-in-panama-part-time
for me it is a couple of things. First the income requirements. Mexico has a very high requirement, and depending on which consulate you go to, it varies. You have to physically go to the consulate and apply. In Panama, it's straightforward and you do all your 'in person" stuff in Panama. If you don't mind that, then Mexico can be a viable alternative because it's a huge country and there are many many places to choose from compared to Panama. The second thing is security. Mexico has numerous unsafe areas, and it's common knowledge that 'gringos' should not travel at night. Not a thing in Panama. Panama is so safe, it's ridiculous to even contemplate it might be dangerous. The people are consistently friendly there. I went there solo for the PRT 126 tour. I was there one day before alone, as many solo females have done. Never felt unsafe. Also, if you are over 55 female, with the Pensionado Visa, you get so many discounts in Panama. Mexico does not have that. I don't remember what the age is for men, I think it's 60. I have planned on going back next year, when I am 62 and have extensively researched both places. Mexico Relocation Tours can give you so much info on Mexico, she is Jackies daughter in law.
Jackie have a job for me?😅 I am an Occupational Therapapist but speak 4 languages 😊 English,Italian,Portuguese and Spanish.I need to move to Panama!😅😅❤
I missed it!! Dangit. I love that she breaks down the cost of everything!! Having a car is a big decision and I appreciate that after 3 years they still do not drive. What is the rent for such a big house?? did they bring their bed? The beds there are hard... I was on PRT 126 tour and sleep was the only thing that was difficult for me, and it was just due to the hard beds, with the exception for one condo with Loud neighbors. I am learning Spanish, very slowly. I have a job that I interact with numerous Spanish only people (SWFL is a place you can learn easily if you want to) who are from Cuba, Columbia, Mexico, Costa Rica, and yes Panama. So I am learning some generic form of it. I am waffling over sending a Pallet of things that are very personal for me, since it would be pretty cheap and convenient comparatively speaking. My 'hobby' is painting and I do it for me, nobody else. But I would LOVE to learn quilting!! When I was very young my aunt quilted. She did it by hand tho and it was long and tedious work.
Annie - (love the shenanigans! ). Our rent is a little more than $1,000/mo. We pay for our electricity and internet. We did *not* bring beds - it's a bit of misinformation that all beds to be found here are hard - we have a king size bed that came with the house. It was soft enough, but after two years, we bought another one at a local store and had it delivered. It's a Serta and is a pillow-top and relatively soft with underlying support. Painting is an awesome hobby and you can absolutely learn quilting when you get here! Lots of opportunities.
?? Can $968 (SS) before Medicare deduction qualify me to apply for my pensionado Visa. l want to buy the online guide before 2024 ends. I wait your reply.
Hi. This is a recorded video of the live presentation. I started seeing invites to the live presentation - and notices of postings of new videos- after I subscribed to the channel. Then, using the link in the email, I joined the presentation live and could ask questions live. Good luck.
