Biggest sin of the modern church is being so inclusive and affirming. God called us to be separate from the world. Praying that you are able to look in the Word for guidance

Hey guys! it’s just sad because this is Sarah’s story-not telling anyone how to handle situations etc. this is from Sarah’s perspective and how she went from hating him to being able to have a friendship with him. That was said just to show how she was able to forgive. Because just like forgiveness doesn’t mean “forgetting” goes in line with how “loving/praying for/having a friendship with doesn’t mean affirming everything they do.” So it’s just sad you felt the need to “turn it off” and are now writing it off as “not a true Christian platform” anymore. If you listened to the rest of the podcast, and stop taking it out of context🤍 Makes me so sad too. I listened to the whole episode and aside from just that one line said by her it was a message on true forgiveness and grace and Gods hand in all of our lives. I thought it was a great testimony and I feel like it’s evident that Sarah loves the Lord with all her heart. Even some Christians don’t get it all right all the time, and I genuinely believe it was just not worded the “perfect” way you want it to be. But going by the rest of her words, I think it’s pretty clear that’s not what she meant. She said she doesn’t wish him harm…. I don’t think she would approve of the sin, but we also can’t hold non Christian’s to our same standard. We have to pray for them. Which she said she does

@@Jenniferlyons87 I never said it wasn’t a Christian podcast. I made a statement about the modern church. I didn’t even comment on Sarah. It maybe one line but it’s an important one. She went through something awful no one is denying that. But her words will resound with people and influence them. We aren’t being kind or loving if people accept something that is clearly spoken against in God’s Word.

@@patriciadeborahorris2714 hi! I copied and pasted for several comments and put it all in one. I 100% agree with both of your comments! Which is why I wanted to add to these comments for other people reading who didn’t use context clues of everything else she said! I don’t want other believers to fall down another rabbit hole that is not biblical. I hope you have a good day!🤍

I love everything she spoke on forgiveness and the peace that came from God. But It broke my heart to hear her say that she wished her ex would build a “healthy” relationship with another man. True love is not rejoicing in our loved ones sins. I used to be an “affirming” Christian for many years, until God spoke to my heart on the subject, and I put myself into the word. Her ex is absolutely deserving of love and grace, and deserves better than affirmation of his sin.

@@Jenniferlyons87 I disagree with almost everything you said here. Her exact words were that she wanted a healthy relationship for her ex and his boyfriend. That’s not out of context. Wishing someone that when you’re a Christian and are doing your best to honor God and align with His word is not of God… that’s being lead astray by today’s culture of acceptance even if it goes against the holy Word of God.

Its so true that when you see someone die it changes how you think about things. I was with my Dad when he took his last breath. It really makes you think about how this life is a vapor. What i once thought was so important is not so much anymore. Materialistic wise. All thats important is your relationship with Jesus, and pointing other people to him.

Hearing about how Sarah leaned into the Lord when her brother passed…being wired that way…I get that and I’m so grateful. I had so much dread about losing my mom (because she was 42 when she had me). When she passed a couple of years ago, the only thing I could do and wanted to do, that felt appropriate was to worship. God’s grace was so sufficient during that time and has always been in my life.❤️ Love you sisters in Christ!

Devin just some construction criticism with love! I know this is new for you and you’re learning! You should ask more questions you think the audience would want to know if we have never known your guest. Example: I have no clue who she is so “What is touring/performing for you?” “Why was she on a ship?” What is a Cruise ship contract? Did she work on the ship? I love that you’re doing a podcast!

It has taken me over 10 years to fully forgive my dad for what he has done over the years. I haven't seen my dad since I was 13 and I am 25 now. I noticed that he took every piece of my healing one step at a time especially after I was saved at 19, well at least I didn't notice God was helping until I was saved. For years I was holding onto the victim mentality that she spoke of due to the influences around me. Once I was able to realize every single one of them, then was I finally able to continue to let go of some things. Not even a month ago my Grandma (my dad's mom) went to my church back at home and asked for my new address since we recently moved. My Mother in law messaged me and said she gave her my new address. For once I didn't have the feeling of fear or anxiousness come over me. I now feel like if he reaches out then maybe that God's way of working through him like God worked through me. It's taken years but I believe I am fully healed by the glory of God.

I lost my son to brain cancer in Sept of '23. He fought for 3 years to beat it but God still took him from me. He was a precious soul and was only 26 years old. So many people prayed for healing and restoration for him but God still took him. I question why God didn't heal him because he would've given God all the honor, glory and praise for healing him and would've told anyone that would listen. But, God still took him. Satan is really fighting me with thoughts that I don't like and filling my head with doubts of God being good. I pray desperately for Him to help me fight satan and these thoughts just as I desperately prayed for my baby boy's healing....but God still took him from me. I don't know how to move passed this grief.

Unfortunately, after I was in a few relationships here and there and was sexually active in those relationships. I finally realized (even though I KNEW) that I needed to take better care of my body and most importantly my soul! I have been in relationship for 5 years with a man who respects me and my wishes! He has stuck by side and has agreed to abstinence until we get married!! That's a hard thing to find these days!!

I’ve been looking forward to every episode as they come out and this one was no different, until I started listening. I was honestly so disappointed in the things Sarah was saying about praying for her ex husband and his new marriage, as well as a couple other things. As Christians, we should set ourselves apart from the world instead of taking part or “affirming” the sin. I ended up turning it off about halfway through and talked to a friend that also listens and she said she felt the same and had to turn it off. I hope to start seeing more Christians with large platforms speak the truth without fear of consequences, we can’t be okay with normalizing sin.

110% she should be willing to correct and even be willing to push back on certain things.. it leaves a very negative impact for listeners... as far as the actual faith of Christianity goes.. it's a shame. For example.. it would be as if saying.. you were praying for someone to enjoy their adulterous relationship.. sin is sin.

28:36 - 29:13 This is so backwards. She wanted her ex husband and his partner to have a health relationship and she hoped good for them? Then credits that to God? As Christians, we of course love the person but we especially do not love the sin--including homosexuality. As Christians, we need are to allow God to use us to love on those who indulge in sin, homosexuality in this scenario, as much as we can...love them so much that it points them to Christ...not to their sin. 1 Corinthians 6: 9-11, Romans 1:26-27

Made me uncomfortable and sad listening because some people are so lost in false religion. She seems like such a lovely person but I just hope she starts to see that supporting sin does not align with the word of God. And that things that happen that don’t align with the Word of God are not FROM God.

I want to say forgiveness is a daily choice and a process. This road is so hard. Do not do it alone.Give yourself time and seek the Lord for what he wants for your marriage. Some marriages get restored during the divorce process or after. Most importantly pray for God’s will and your husbands repentance.
