I've been showing your videos to my friends and I just ordered some sardines myself. They're telling me my new obsession is worrying but I think I've just transcended into a higher plane of existence. Thanks for the canned fish files keep up the excellent work
Old Canadian truck driver from Canada says Hi love the show still fantastic. I got nuri spiced I ordered directly from the factory. Very nice of them. And well worth it. But a very expensive proposition. Perhaps you're supplier knows how to get them into Canada less expensively. I can speak from experience after eating sardines for years out of the can in my truck driving long haul. Sardines are not just sardines. There is a difference in where they are caught what type are caught and how they are prepared and Packaged. Please keep this up I love it
At first I was thinking, "but he already conquered mussels", but then I realized that was Slow Jabroni I was thinking of. Another fun fish video conquered!
When I saw you placing your order with Dan, I figured, yeah, let's order some! Mine arrived a couple of days ago. What a GREAT experience! I'm three cans down and SO many more to go. Thank you!!!
I have never seen such a fancy collection of sardines. I’m impressed and hungry. New sub. Nice work. I’m known at my job for always having some kind of canned fish for lunch. This channel is for me.
What an awesome eclectic haul! I enjoyed each and every unveiling. I made my first RTG order last week. A 20 can assortment of KOs. It was a blast unpack too! Thanks Matt
No lie - I was so excited when I saw the thumbnail and I couldn't wait to watch it. Liked it so nice, I watched it twice! Love the pin and Dan is a master packer indeed. I can't wait to get my first box of Rainbow Garden products! Thanks for this little corner of internet joy, guys!
Another good one for mussels is Matiz mussels in olive oil and vinegar.. Incredible!. No matter what it is, I usually eat half a can of whatever I'm having with Frank's red hot. For me the oil and vinegar for the mussels was right up my alley. No crackers, cheese, or hot sauce, and next thing you know, that tin is gone. One of those few "oil sippers"
Timing! I just finished the order video and here's this! All that said, the tidiness of the packaging here is awesome. I want to watch this just for how neatly these cans are wrapped and packed.
I would love to see you try Eagle Brand Fried Dace w/ Black bean!!! A Cantonese staple. When I was living in San Francisco this canned fish was everywhere. Thanks for the video!
@@CannedFishFiles thanks for this video it's a jackpot of selections that I have never seen! I look forward to your review of German smoke herring. Also I enjoy your background music which I believe you created. Where's that cat of yours, locked in the back room? If not spring time so I hope you open your window so I can hear some Street sounds. Greetings from the little state of Delaware! 👶👶👶👶👶👶👶👶👶👶👶👶👶🤦🤦🥣
Everyone loves having a stash... Dang! That is a sweet sampler of exotic 'deens! Looking forward to the review videos. Still haven't heard "Star Trek Fight Music" as a soundtrack to a sardine battle yet though. 😞
Bought 30 cans of deenz after watching all your videos. Trying few out to choose the daily drivers. Gotta say, you have a gift my friend. You can probably expand to other areas with relative ease
I think your channel is absolutely rad. You somehow have the super power to make eating canned fish really fun to watch. Love the little sound bits and retro aesthetic edits you make here and there. I actually just bought some canned sardines and Wildfish Cannery items because of your stuff. Subb'd and will be busy looking at your past episodes. Thanks, Matthew!
Ya know, if I thought about it, I would have read the funnies. Newspapers are so novel now. And Dan apparently gets a smalltown paper. A lot of the cans were wrapped in these very touching memorial ads.
I bought my first can the other week! Not too bad, definitely think I might try them with hot sauce though as the ones I tried last time were a little bland. Maybe it's an acquired taste haha. Those horseradish ones you got sound really good too.
Loved this video! It was fun to see so many different varieties. I was surprised to see canned smelts. I survived college on Great Lakes frozen smelts. They were incredibly cheap, nutritious, and tasty, along with some potatoes. 🐟 🥔
I was just eating them to eat them at the end of the video, but I think when I shut the camera off I was like "Damn those are the best canned mussels I've ever had."
Oh that first one you unwrapped I actually found at an eastern european grocery store a few weeks ago. Haven't had it yet but I've been looking forward to it.
Laying in the bed Christmas night (after the kids got their their ridiculous 2 grand Santa) sipping a "fine" Orange Jubilee MD 20/20 out of one of my kids Superman thermal cups. Watching the ordering and then unboxing of canned seafood 🦞 🐟... Does life get any fancier or what? Something about sardines brings me back to the ones I ate tons of at my Paw Paws growing up as a kid. Now I eat mostly smoked shellfish and oysters out of the can. Boy those Habanero Smoked oysters look so much better than the $2 Chinese ones with the super high heavy metal loadout. It's like headbanger music for your filtering organs. Anyway, Merry Christmas, cheers and a Happy New Year to everyone and the "razor clam wit" video poster and his family. Thanks for reminding me there are better things in a can in life.
I just ate a can of bon apetit in hot oil it is my driver, it is hands down one of the better cans I've had in a while, they are big boys with no spine action but the flavor is amazing
Dan will make up a special mix for your at whatever $ level. I think you could ask him to mix a little of the Canned Fish Files DNA into the pack and he'd know what to do.
Ahaha I stopped the video when I saw Connetable but then I play again and next tin was reviewed some days ago too😄😄😄. But the way Espinaler sauce is the best friend for seafood like cockles, clams and that kind of stuff. Has a nice story behind. But not for the super expensive, just the daily tins (never with mussel in "escabeche")You have the hot one, but the classic is another, not hot at all. I love it.
Someone sees me watching RU-vid and Asks “What are you Watching”? I answer “Some Guy Unboxing expensive Cans of Seafood Products”. That person walks away slowly mumbling something about “Food Porn”.
i am still waiting for a similar nice large order of assorted portuguese canned fish i placed 2 and a half weeks ago... it's been sitting in the same warehouse for ages
@@CannedFishFiles the freight network in australia has just fallen apart recently :'( i picked up some nishin konbumaki and sanma kabayaki in person yesterday though, so i will survive
Just watching this for the 2nd time excellent. I did as you suggested and ordered from rainbow tomatoes garden just today. Will let you know how it goes.
You should try the Trader Joe's Lightly Smoked Mussels in Extra Virgin Olive Oil. They're sweet, smoky and delicious! Your channel is great, keep up the awesome work!
Freal? The cod liver is the one can I'd pack if I'd had to leave home in a rush, just to have that potent part of fish ready, in a can! Anyway, I like that liver slightly/lightly smoked, just like me, taking the edge of it, getting along. Like ansjovis
I love canned mussels and those da kine looked like ono grindz delicious! On another note. Unboxing a box like that is like your wife is giving birth to multiple babies and you're there in the delivery room squatting with a catchers mitt along side the doctor as they pop out of the womb and they just keep coming! Only they're tin cans of little fishes. Nice!
That was fun! Looking forward to the tastings. I can recommend old episodes of twilight zone to go with the Connatable dines. Me and my dad staying up late watching TV and eating sardines. Where it started for me.
I can also attest to the late nights of twilight zone and a different from normal snack. I never thought anything I used to do as a child as weird until I tried to persuade others to join in the fun. Ya know, it's not weird, if anything it's geeky, which is relished in todays culture. It needs to be spread... like a mild cod liver on a cracker.
Hey Matt! I love your videos. I’m about to start my own mukbang channel and I was wondering where you got your background music? It’s absolutely hypnotizing and I would love something similar for my channel
I created most of the music myself for this channel. I keep threatening to re-master/clean it up so I can release it or license it out but I never find the time.
Lol I think you got into the mussels a little much! Any descriptions of them besides good?! Lol! Were they sweet, hot, both? Was the texture nice? I love mussels too, it’s very excusable! Lol!
Haha, I ate them pretty fast. Honestly man, they were maybe the best canned mussels I've ever had. I'm gonna get another can or two of their stuff and really give em their due in a separate video.
