Ruma Das i have watched the movie And I LOVED IT!!! The dance song of Madhuri along with the storyline was just PERFECT! Madhuri Looked perfext And she danced with so much emotion just perfect!!! Everyone was just outstanding amazing
This video proves that Madhuri's expressions are their own art form. You can see the incredible dance moves of the assistant choreographers but their expressions are clearly lacking. What Madhuri does is she adds her magic to those already killer moves and as a result, you get the most exquisite dance experience humanly possible. No words.

OMG! I cannot believe how fabulous the choreography in this video looked absolutely fabulous in comparison to the final 'glossed up' lacklustre version. One can feel the Saroj Khan essence in this rehearsal version, which is absent in the final video. Especially the chakkars looked amazing in the end here which is what I went to see in the theatre and had to tolerate the movie. Many many thanks for uploading this gem of a video.
I think Madhuri has more grace than the dancers who we saw here. But this video was shot much much better than the original video. It is so sad that we didnt get to see this in the film..

Karan Johar made the movie "kalank" only for Alia Bhatt ... And, when he said that it was his father's dream but he died; his father died long ago. Why did he make the movie now?? Alia compares herself with Deepika Padukone all the time. Deepika is Sanjay Leela Bhansali's favourite actress. Now, Alia wants to work with Bhansali. But Sanjay makes traditional Indian based movies. Karan wanted to show the traditional side of Alia Bhatt to the world, so that Sanjay Leela Bhansali starts casting Alia Bhatt in his films. And, we all know that Sanjay makes extraordinary masterpieces. Due to all these reasons, Karan edited Madhuri's dance number. Madhuri was made to stand and not dance in front of Alia Bhatt. Nobody in the world can resist Madhuri not dancing in a movie. But, Karan had to showcase Alia Bhatt; so he made Alia to dance and Madhuri to stand and watch. And, one song which had Madhuri dancing; he edited that also. This all is a conspiracy to promote and showcase Alia Bhatt. Now, when the whole world has come to know about this cheap game of Karan Johar, he will very soon come up with an explanation and justification in front of media that this is not the case. But we all know the truth.
Yes exactly , but from what ive heard the sanjay film with Alia is contemporary. Im sure he knows that only actresses like Aishwarya, Madhuri And Deepika can achieve such level of grace

Jaate jaate ek aur master piece de gayi saroj ji. No one can choreograph indian dance such beautifully then her. This rehersal version is far far better than the song in the film. Totally they spoilt the song in editing. Karan johar jo na kare kam hai aalia ko glorify karne ke liye. Kyuki ghar mohe pardesiya chahe kitna bhi acha bana ho , can not beat the best jodi of master and student i.e. Saroj ji and Madhuri ji respectively. Hats off to her for her contribution to the film freternity. She was a star and will always remain. We love her.

I think the costume wasn't appropriate for the Dance. The BIG ghagra actually hid all the dance moves. All these dancers are practicing in Salwar. It shows the movements clearly. Apart from the edit, the costuming kinda let the choreography down.

something is really wrong with Abhishek Varman and Karan Johar. This choreography is beautiful and it portrays the agony of Bahar Begum in totality. The edited song is pathetic. As directors and producers, they really do miss the aesthetic emotional appeal of the song...... that is just sad
Actually, when the song was released people where not impressed by the choreography and the song b'coz they didn't knew the idea behind it. But, after the release they loved it. I think Abhi did some last min re-editing & clearly messed up.
This whole terrific choreography could have saved that kalank from being flopped. The film flopped and This only happens When u don't appreciate others legendary effort and do this injustice then ,film gets big flop. I have watched this only dance multiple times without getting exhausted
Madhuri Dixit could never have been the Dancing Queen, had she not have Masterji, the Hawa Hawai would not have been famous just becoz of Sridevi alone. It was the golden touch of Saroji ji’s ada what made it timeless. Saroji(Masterji) you would always be remembered. Om Shanti 🙏🏻
Its a wonderful choreography by Lt. Saroj ji. Just dont know how many times I have watched this video. Especially the lead dancer in the rehearsal , she is a true student of Saroj ji , a beautiful dancer, even the supporting dancers n even the man also in black. These are the true artists and bloody directors like Karan Johar spoils every effort. Shame on them.
Saroj ma'am did fabulous job,It's Flawless than the edited version which is really fast on some moment . Whereas it is beautifully choreographed . I mean who edited the beautiful dance and cut most of the extra ordinary and awesome steps that badly in movie
When I saw the song as soon as it was released couple of times, I realized that it was not a Saroj choreography. We all were used to her fine, unique, beautiful level, I said certainly something had happened wrong, now I understood ... How they can hide this masterpiece from us ... Madhuri's dance is ossum, shame on karan Johar, he didn't show this iconic full song because he wants to focus only on Alia.. Madhuri did not do justice to the dance steps. The assistant dancer danced better . The same steps so apt and beautiful look comic on madhuri. Maybe madhuri dint rehearse well

Back here after hearing the saddening news of Saroj Ji's demise. Feelings of anger towards Karan Johar and rest of Kalank's production team for not displaying this masterpiece- which would go on to be Saroj Ji's last. It is sad that Saroj Ji and her team had to post video of rehearsals to show the audience that what has been shown to them is not what Saroj Ji created. In an interview Saroj Ji even said that the song had been cut too much and she was unhappy with that. RIP Master Ji.
I've watched the film final version many times, and then after watching this original choreography of Saroj Khan's rehearsal video, I get that the costuming is too much for this dance. She's covered with a heavy cloth, it freaking hides all the foot work. WTH! They really made some poor editing choices. They choose aesthetics over the art of dance. I am weeping. OPPORTUNITY LOST! I still enjoy it coz it's the Queen at work, making it all look AMAZING! Song has been on repeat. :)
No matter however arrogant Saroj Khan ji is, but a legend is always a legend. Kudos to you mam. I don't like your arrogance but absolutely love and respect your work.

I find her arrogant because in many of her interview she proudly claimed that Sridevi became a superstar because of her and once she started to ignore her, she lost her superstardom. I can agree with her in that claim in respect of Madhuri Dixit as she got popularity because of her dance items. But Sridevi was already a superstar and more than a dancer she had already gained her status as an actor. Her success never based solely on dance. When she was asked about Saroj Khan's claim,she didn't contradict and smiled politely.
Shame the edited dance in the film looks totally different and not at all a good presentation. Saroj khan's choregraphy has not been justified by the editors and I am dissapointed that a film maker like Karan johar who sits on reality dance shows has allowed such dub standard presentation of a good choregraohy.. It's an I sult to the efforts of a choreographer and final editing of the song should be done by the choregraoher..
