The whole argument was more like Sarada didnt take lead but instead followed Boruto. While Shikadai not only took lead of the gennin but also was one of the few shinobi that was officially sent there

@@Quanoo1 eh, it also depends on where they are politically. We know the elders would never accept Sasuke or Orochimaru. But Shikamaru, Sakura and Kakashi are all good bets. Although Sakura is stronger than both of them and she has a lot of intelligence as well. It’s either be between Sakura or Shikamaru. Besides, Kakashi would probably advocate anyone other than himself.

I understand where you are coming from but if you want to apply the deserting the village part on Mitsuki’s behalf then you have to do the same for Sarada. And when you apply that to Sarada she’s almost in the same position as Mitsuki’s

Shikadai is in exactly the same position of deserter as Mitsuki or Sarada. This episode is complete bullshit, Shikadai did not show leadership qualities in the exam, and the rank of chunin should have been issued based on the exam data, not a single mission.

They should've promoted Shikadai and Sarada. Imo, their explanation for not promoting Sarada to Chuunin didn't make too much sense. She literally did amazing in real combat as well as the chuunin exams, and she left for a good reason too. There was no reason she shouldn't be chuunin as well. Besides, she's a dope captain now too.

Go for Boruto. Wtf, I don`t understand where his leadership qualities were shown in the mitsuki arc, if his 10 team only did that lost, while Sarada led 3 attacks including a fight with Boruto and ChoCho and immediately figured out others abilities

They said about 5 times that being a Chuunin is about being a leader and having analytical skills and still couldn't get it through to this man. It's more important for a leader to know the strength of his team than to be strong himself. The chuunin will analyze the situation and create strategies that their team will be able to carry out succesfully. Kakashi is an ant in terms of power, compared to Naruto, but Naruto still listens to him in battle. Also, it doesn't matter what Naruto and co did with Shikadai's information, what matters is that he played his part perfectly and actually led the kids. Team 7 can't really take that much credit for the resolution of the situation either, because they'd be dead if it wasn't for Ohnoki.

Just in practice Shikadai couldn`t understand that Inojin can`t use super beast scrolls and make a bet on him because of what the whole team lost the fight. In addition, most time of Mitsuki`s arc he did not participate in the actions, team 7 got out of the problems itself. In addition, it was Shikadai who did not calculate strength in the battle with Deepa, because of what the entire team of Shinki and 10 almost lost their lives. While Sarada pulled everyone out 2 times in Mitsuki's escape arc, she planned almost all of team 7's fights, including future fights in the manga.. The explanation from the episode is complete nonsense and is only needed because Sarada is still a Genin in the manga.

This is the thing that erk'd me about the anime-canon... even though I Know Shikadai was the best choice for Chunin...its honestly just seems like a SHIKAMARU 2.0 like OG Naruto. And Shippuden...I know they're different but we had that Limelight........this could have gave Sarada Uchiha so much more backstory to back up her Hokage gig up...she's obviously a favorite because all expectations... honestly even shinki would be acceptable, but a ShikaPart 2 is lazy

I was expecting denki to be chunin. I think is more interesting if we have one OP character that only rely on strategy, gadget and seal jutsu, without any combat abilities, no taijutsu, , no genjutsu, no ninjutsu except seal (but all type of seals just like edy village)

The problem here isn't Shikadai's promotion, but the missed promotion of Sarada. The 1 Chuunin thing is bullshit, because it's not mathematically possible, since in the timeskip between OG Naruto and NS, there should've been maximum 6 exams (one every 6 months), so by this rule 6 chuunin, but the new chuunin were more than 6, so they should've promoted *both* Shikadai and Sarada, because they *both* have what it takes to be a Chuunin. I get they want to do the whole "Shikamaru's son is the only one to become Chuunin and Team 7 members will have to be Genin until the timeskip" thing, but they could've avoided that.

No one is talking about this but with Denki if he could be able to use his weaknesses in smart way then he would be able to become chunin I feel like what he needs is to be able to use the fact he isn't very good at battling and make a strength out of it also he gets nervous a lot could fall under pressure but if he could get better at those two things I think he'd be a pretty good captain

I think it’s stupid. You have all these kids compete to become chunin. Have ALL THESE KIDS from different nations come to compete only for ONE OF THEM to be given chunin status ? That literally makes no sense to me. But then you had another chunin exam in filler episode of naruto shippuden where all of the konoha 11 , besides neji and shikamaru, was promoted to chunin 🤨. Like wat? You telling me out of all dem kids that competed you can’t promote two? Just one? That makes no sense to me Why not just give it to the genins that literally deserves it. Whether it’s strength, judgment, battle intelligence whatever. If they deserve it den they deserve it 🤨

Sarada may be strong but I think the right decision was made here because Shikadai has come in clutch several times using his intelligence most recently in the Mitsuki arc so he deserves it

I was rooting for sarada to be chosen. Now thinking about it more and with the fillers (yes fillers) in Shippuden. Where 9 out of 12? of the konoha got promoted to chunin. Neji double the promotion and became jonin. Why is there a only 1 can be promoted rule? Honestly none of them were even good candidates to begin with. At this point let cheating ass Boruto become chunin tf🤣 it was a joke to me. I kind of hated how they tried to do oh both Nara’s become chunin first thing some type of parallel?

If I recall correctly from this episode, they even considered to promote Denki as chunnin. Damn that was like promoting OG Sakura to chunnin.

Denki still needed to steal question papers to pass, so I don't know what kind of intelligence are you talking about, sakura in og was as big brained as physically weak she was. Denki is definitely skilled tho, but he is not like the nara or sakura.

Rules are privileges. Unless someone enforces them, they don't mean anything. And even if someone enforces them, it's not the rules that matter, it's that person. If they decide you're not worth it, the rules don't apply. So yes, Shikadai should have not relied on that. Not every shinobi fights honorable and he should just be dead now. He lost. Boruto cheated and in the spirit of a fair competition he was rightfully disqualified from consideration, but Shikadai was naive. Not a quality for a team captain. Assuming the rules are followed is a bad mindset.

You can't compare a chunin exam fight between friends to an outside mission against legit enemies , the last thing Shikadai was expecting was for his good friend to cheat against him , that doesn't in any way make him less suitable to become a chunin.

@@lordrimuru2003 If he has that intelligence that writers trying to tell us, he would expect anything in battle. Sarada is much more open-minded in battles, including Mitsuki arc.

I really don't like the way they're handling Shikadai, since the Mitsuki arc, where, for no reason whatsoever, Shikadai says something edgy along the lines of "I figured Boruto out, in 23 moves he'll be done", like, really? And now this bullshit? I get it, they wanna make it as similar to original Naruto as possible, but man, that's just straight up bullshit. Pretty much the only thing I've hated about Boruto, this stupidly overzealous Shikadai bias

In practice Shikadai is not even able to lead a team 10, let alone his own. Whereas Sarada did quite well with Boruto + Chocho and Boruto + team 10 in the Mitsuki arc, and in the manga with the new team 7, so this episode is bullshit.

@@mubarkahchaudhry1977 she's not that trash at taijutsu being Sakura's daughter who is also probably the second best at taijutsu if u count it as taijutsu, also has a Sharingan and a couple other jutsus. Now for shikadi it's all in the head and Shadow position Jutsu or his other shadow Jutsu.
