exactly what I called on our own mustang forums LoL MMR built a motor for one of our Canadian customer, and the motor blew up after the first drive Wrist pin was not designed for high horsepower (1500). Local drag shop took it apart and notice the wrist pins were made to handle max 700-800 and way undersized

Sloppy mechanics had an engine core they picked up at a chevy dealer and it had the same thing but who ever did it sent it and the crank had a big groove in it. Glad you figured it out, onwards and upwards.

So yeah the stuff works for about a week and then break, but I do think they take their time. Plus, how long should these builds be done? Looks like (besides engines being built) it takes a few weeks for them to put everything together.

I'd love to say thats the case, but its more a series of people who don't know what they're doing putting their hands on these engines.. There are listed procedures from Ford (or Alldata) that show how to check clearences and most of their potenital issues, and common sense with the right tools could've cleared the others.

Make sure you are using the correct oil pump bolts because they are a specific size and if you use the wrong ones it will hit the crank and lock the motor up

hey Gavin, I'm sure you wont see this, but I'm a desert guy as well as a car guy so we spend some time in our fifth wheel both at the track and in the dirt. look into "MaxxAir" vents for the trailer. they have covers on them that prevent blow offs/let you keep it open at all times to help with the fuel smell in the trailer and stuff. we have them on all the vents in the trailer and they work amazingly and they arn't that expensive.

I love mustangs and Camaros but I love how I spent $2k on my Camaro to do heads and cam and I went from 350 horse to the wheels to about 450 horse. It’s crazy how cheap it is to make power with an LS.

Lee Dennis heads and cam doesn’t always mean heads and cam. A decent sized cam, good flowing heads, intake, headers, fuel system, and a few more things will put out pretty damn close to 450 to the wheels.

But for what you mentioned (heads and cam for $2000) there is no way you're making close to it. And there is no true stock ls1's making 350 to the tires. Lol

My assumption is that the main bearing saddles would have been align-bored, along with the block being decked, as part of the basic engine prep. You might check to see if the pistons at both ends of the block are at the same height relative to the block deck when they're at TDC. If you're reusing the crank, are you sure that the crank wasn't bent as the result of the piston failing due to detonation?

how’d you make gen 2 cams work on the gen 1 heads? i got gen 2 heads for my swap i’m doing and i have gen 1 heads and they don’t seem to fit all that great. real tight and don’t spin easily
