SATANIC PANIC 

As I was doing this, I continued to find more and more info from the past and present. I will end up doing two parts. Crazy stuff!!!

My mind goes to West Memphis Three and McMartin preschool.

My poor church-going mom hearing "shout, shout, shout... shout at the devil!" at full volume from my teenage room lol

Hi Rikki! Fellow "Yinzer" here as well. I totally remember this back in the 80's. I remember a particular Church that was a very normal looking Non denominational church about 5 miles from my house. (I am Roman Catholic) I had never been in that church but it was said that at night around midnight you would see a lot of the local kids walking through this neighborhood that the church was in and they were all coming and going from the basement of that place. I did actually see that going on. The windows were all blacked out in the basement of that church. Do you remember the case from back in the day about Steven Mignogna ? He was the guy that was into Metal (which we pretty much all were lol) but he and a buddy went to a local GameRoom (remember those places lol) they picked up two girls. The girls were dropped off at this gameroom by the grandmother. He took them back to his apt. Where he either had sex with. She was only about 14 or 15 years old. She was a virgin and well not to be graphic but when he noticed blood it freaked him out (according to the rent a cop I talked to at the plaza where the gameroom was located ) he then called her into the Bathroom where he cut her throat and killed her. Her friend was downstairs, Mignogna called her friend upstairs, saying her friend wanted to see her. She went into the bathroom where she found her friend in the bathtub, Mignogna then killed her in the same manner. He then told the friend what he had done. Asked the friend to help him get rid of the bodies, the friend agreed ( only bcz he was sickened and terrified ) once they did this the friend of Mignognas went directly to the police. They arrested Mignogna and in the media the blame was put onto Rock/Metal music and Satan. Ummmmmm me and all of my friends turned out ok, I think this guy had way more issues than the music and Satan. Unfortunately the music was being used as a scapegoat for the times. You can look this up , I am sure if you Google it. The girls were picked up in North Huntington Pa. Rock on Rikki! In the book The Dirt by Mötley Cüre they talk about paranormal activity I guess that was going on when Nikki was writing the album it might be fun to look into further it’s starts on page 88. Just thought that it went along with rock music and satanic stuff. Great video by the way can’t wait for part to.

Religious organizations had a field day with all this. They used it to further control and push their agendas.

Dude, I remember talking with your Dad about all this, oh so long ago. We got on the subject because I was lamenting to him how my uber-Christian, United Methodist Mother was getting on my case for listening to and going to shows of my favorite rock and metal bands; including POISON. She thought it was all Satan's music. As I got older and my son became a teenager listening and getting me interested in newer metal, my Mom relaxed a bit. Suffice to say, my son listened to AC/DC, Black Sabbath, B.O.C., etc. before he was even born. He is now into A7X, Dragonforce, Poets of the Fall, and Iron Maiden. What goes around comes back around, I guess.

I remember the satanic panic of the 80s very well. My pre k teacher freaked out when she asked me if I liked music. The look on her face when I said have any Ozzy records. She Wrote a note to my parents but they were already aware of this information. Thanks mom and dad for letting me decide my music.

I dealt with enormous amount of judgement, when younger, with my music (Poison one of my favorites), my clothing and general take of my daily. I appreciate a wide range of music and respect the therapy provided. Yep, I still rock my face off and dress pretty much the same. My take on life is, put good out to Universe and watch the show unfold.

The 80’s was a great decade and I miss it I had long hair and I was in grade school and the teacher’s would talk about my parents but they didn’t know that I just liked rock music I grew up on all the music you mentioned well some of it people would say that they was devil worshipers in a white van driving around picking up blonde hair blue eyed kids to sacrifice to the devil wild but good times
